Dragon Age: Inquisition Review Thread

You're right, but I prefer DA:I over Divinity. I've played both. Just a personal preference ;)
Hey Dawg, is there any English translation of your review? Also, can you please comment on Friendly fire and how is menu/item managament?

And would like to know your opinion on the characters/story/choices as a whole. Is it's really mostly a good vs bad affair or does at least pose some relevant moral dilemmas? Not happy that some reviewers are talking about it in a negative way.

Since some people are wondering about loading times:

I have a 256GB SSD and they're not that long on my rig. I usually don't even have the time to read the text that pops up in the loading screen. I'd say about 2 - 5 seconds.

Happy about the good reviews but now I'm not sure if I should actually buy the game. That PC benchmark thread killed all my hype. Not sure my PC will be able to play the game well at all :[

I'm stuck on the X1 internal huehuehue

they shouldn't when similar games got unjustified high scores and great reviews, yes. that was my point. but please, stay mad.

I can't be mad at you for being you. I once read that dumb people don't realize they're dumb and I think it's relevant here.

I'm mad at myself for wasting time replying to you.

What are side quests/missions like in this game?
Are they similar to what you would find in Skyrim for example.
Thanks.

Hey Dawg, about those promised screenshots :P

Currently the game is sitting at 89 with 19 reviews on the PS4 version (most reviewed SKU).

The only games above that on the system are:
95: TLOU Remastered
91: flower (digital)
90: Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil, Rayman Legends, Fez (digital)
Says nothing about a BioWare game, though. ME3 was a turd with 93 metascore on PS3/360.

https://translate.google.com/transl...ews/41005/1/Dragon-Age-Inquisition&edit-text= or the google chrome translator. It's not perfect, but I hope you'll understand *something*

I liked the characters and the choices you get. It's very ME2-like. I think the romance stuff also has a new personal quest now. I don't think that was in the other games. Cassandra has a romantic side to her I didn't expect at all :p

I did notice the world tends to focus more on gameplay than choices sometimes. It didn't really bother me that much, but you'll be doing quests and killing enemies more than talking to people. The quest givers usually don't have _that_ much conversation options. This depends on the character in question. Doesn't mean there's no choices and conversations at all though. There are plenty of conversations and choices in the game. I think the game is just so big that they couldn't fill it all with conversations, choices etc

Bioware really need to upgrade their animation systems, I feel like they've barely improved at all since the first Mass Effect.

Dawg! Which characters were your favorites?

Cassandra, Varric, Iron Bull, Solas, Dorian, Cullen, Josephine, Morrigan and Leliana.

I didn't like Sera at all. Cole is 'ok'. Blackwall is... meh. Didn't really like Vivienne either.

!!!!!!!BIG SPOILER!!!!!!!:
I liked Loghain too.

I'm guessing in your dragon age keep, you kept him alive to see him return?

DAI is a cross-gen game, has to work on old gen systems. It's extremely difficult to have excellent facial animations in games as big as theirs. Their games span potentially hundreds of hours, with thousands of lines of dialogue and conversations. It'd be a massive undertaking to mocap everything really.

Expect better for their next-gen only games though ;)

Glad BioWare can still make greats. SWTOR, ME3, and DA2 made me lose faith in them a lot.

Now I just have to finish playing through DA2 I guess.

Even if those are good reviews, I wont trust them after the dust settles.

People were raging about how good it was DA2.

If by "people" you mean PC Gamer, then sure. The majority though did not. At the same times though, it's nowhere near as bad as what many on the internet would try to have you believe. It's just not a good sequel.

and here we go with the insults, took longer than what I expected. :lol

you surely sound mad, son.

Oh, you're trying to get people upset. Don't understand why people do that, but whatever suits you. I wish you wouldn't, though.
not just that though, I actually think what I wrote. that those games I listed, especially ME games, are far from being good or even great, thus making my point about the review scores in this thread.

If I played DA:O and DA2 PC version and I keep the saves on Inquisition (PC), do I have to use the "Dragon Age Keep" or I can load my own saves on DA:I?

I ask this because I don't remember a single choice I made on DA2 xD

Eh, that's a convenient narrative but the main game had some big problems too. Kai Leng for instance.

The multiplayer is too fun however I find it difficult to bemoan the game when I spent more time with it than the other two games combined
mat least twice over

Good to know that a cameo is confirmed from previous games.

Plenty of good points, but this one I feel is a result of rushing to meet embargo. Upon replaying I'm sure you see that the "obvious" choice isn't so straightforward in this series. Just the other day I was replaying the Mage origin in DA:O and went a different route and learned the "good guy" is actually a total ass.
Heh. I personally think this applies to most recent Bioware's main characters. If you pick the "good" options, you end up with a hoollywoodesque-heroe that in real life would be considered a despicable person (manipulative enforcerer, with a very rigid moral compass to the point of parody, and willing to mass murder if that means gains for those close to him or sex).

In any case, I do hope you are right and it's just a matter of reviewers going for the easy choice.

Aw yiss, can't wait.

Ahhh , how lovely, it is not a bioware thread if there isnt the usual " mass effect 3 is garbage".

OT : I can´t wait for this game , 7 days !!! I want it now :(

Mass Effect 3 is a great game hampered by a shitty ending.

And shitty quest design, and shitty character dialogue and writing(all of cerberus), bad balance concerning combat, very limited encounter variety before dlcs, very minimal changes from what you carried over from ME1 and 2 for the most part...
People were angry about many things.
