Dragon Age: Inquisition Review Thread

For the reviewers out there, can anyone confirm if there is anything truly content locked by being one gender over another like in DAO:
Being a male warden allows you to forego dying by creating a God Baby with Morrigan
.

Uhh... What?
Female Wardens can still survive. You just make Alistair or Loghain sleep with Morrigan to create the OGB.

Spoliery question. Is it worth it to go back an amend my keep save state to keep
Loghain
alive? I've played through Origins half a dozen times and even with my most virtuous characters I always elect to snuff him. Dude was a bad seed and I just couldn't justify keeping him alive. Same with
Anders
in DA2.

man you really want people to hate this game.

anyways im stoked its getting good reviews. i've never played a dragon age game before so bring on the confusion
No. In fact, I want it to be better than DA:O, but I'm pretty sure that won't be the case.
I hate scores and the eurogamer review is a good example of how they can mislead the readers. It's as if the strong criticism he put there isn't all that relevant and the game makes up for it, even though he doesn't really say how.

I'm feeling left out. Did anyone else
Turn Alistair into a drunkard and let Loghain die for the cause?
Yup!
Had to live to go hunting for my baby-momma Morrigan!
:D

Neither of those two are worth keeping alive.

Loghain has a cameo in DAI. but I don't know anything about it other than that it exists.

I wanted my Warden to be a parent of the OGB. Just that small tidbit in DAO made it difficult for me to play as a female in it. I loved my lady Hawke in DA2.

I have five saves states, and one is where Loghain is alive and in charge of the Wardens.

1) Alistair rules with the Warden. She stabbed the fuck outta Morrigan for sleeping with her man.
2) Warden dies, Alistair is a Warden.
3) Loghain lives and is in charge of the Wardens
4) Loghain sacrificed himself
5) Warden is the daddy of the God Baby, went through the portal

Gamespot video has a pretty interesting spoiler..

Dragon Age Origins, Inquisition spoilers:
There's one scene where Leliana looks mummified. Maybe it has to do with that Redcliffe demo we saw earlier? Like the bad guy at Redcliffe put a spell on her?

or maybe she's some spirit that never dies or whatever, explains why she can die in Origins but still pop up in the sequels.

I dunno.

so i'm going to assume most people didnt go with the harden alistair king and logain alive scenario..(hopefully that gets touched upon in the game) i also kinda liked how he had to do the worse thing ever since he got to live in DAO
teaching Orleasan wardens so i'm going to assume he is over in that country in some aspect. Unless they changed that ending to not count anymore.

Well I have to give Ubisoft a big thank you for the AC:Unity parity nonsense.
Originally I had Unity on pre order for PS4 and was gonna give this a miss until after Christmas at least.
After hearing the Ubisoft stupidity and hearing the DA Inquisition devs saying they were pushing both consoles to be the best they could be I cancelled Unity and ordered this instead.
From those reviews it looks like a very solid decision!!
Thanks Ubi.

I'm gonna wait for some user reviews.

DAO was amazing, DA2 was extremely disappointing, and yet that game got stellar reviews.

I'm cautiously optimistic however.

Thankfully the 6 hour demo ("early access") from EA Access will allow me to decide for myself.

The only real ending.

Really hope there is. It's unfortunate how often even in RPGs that gender choice for the main character is little more than an aesthetic choice rather than having any meaningful impact on the plot or how the world reacts to your character. Sure romance options vary, but that tends to be about it. I think one of the things I appreciated about Persona 3 Portable was there was just enough little changes to the game if you were playing as FeMC that it felt distinct from playing as a male character. Not sure I expect DA:I to reach that level, but it sure would be nice to see it do more than the typical Rpg with a custom hero.

Yeah, the choices will just be confusing without any context. Use this site when you make your World State for Inquisition in Dragon Age Keep, it'll hopefully help a little: http://thedialoguewheel.wordpress.com/.

PCGamer just put up a video where they're going through all of the choices. I haven't watched it yet, though, so I'm not sure on how comprehensive it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rv6A-CHqkq8

The PC Gamer one is pretty damn comprehensive, they have a text version here:

Dawg-kun how much playtime have you invested and how far are you (your own estimation)? The warrior looks cool but the gear looks kinda basic if you know what I mean

Something I want to show are the operations too. You can see the bridge being broken in the first pic here. You unlock an operation to fix it and as you can see in the second picture, the bridge is fixed.

Each colosseum has a dragon>

Damnit. Now I'm going to have to a Keep import with
Loghain alive who did the ritual, Alistair king/Anora queen just to see how it all works out.

I let Loghian live in my Keep save since the only reason I killed him in the real game is so Alistair would be in the final battle, but now it doesn't really matter.

I haven't followed this series at all, but will I lose anything from jumping into it with this game, or should I start from the beginning?

There was no tactical camera in DA2. Only DA:O had a tactical camera and that was only on the PC I believe (I never played the console versions).

Maybe I shouldn't have used the word "tactical" when describing it for DA2. You could still puase the game and move the camera overhead, albeit not to the extent of DA:O then issue commands, etc. etc. The process was more restrictive than DA:O but it still got the job done.

One worrisome thing I keep reading is how the Inquisitor is more of a concrete character like Shepard and less of a blank slate like the Warden. Some people might like this but to me it sounds like there's less role-playing potential. Even DA2 let you craft a personality for Hawke, whereas in this game I've never seen more than two distinct dialogue choices at a time. Can anyone who's played or watched the streams assuage my worry?
