WGWG became more prominent and hard to even get a female to be a winner. it might help if they consider getting better singers instead of letting these pretty faces through.

Adam lamber guest starred as a gay singer on glee. and he decided to not wear makeup and go au natural. This was also the season for the former xfactor judge demi lovato made her debut into the highest rated fox show allowing her music career to take off.
the only winner i got from them was the Swon Brothers and that's because Sony's been pushing them. other winners? yeah, sure they can sing but they become very low key.
this guy right here though.

That's what I'm saying. Idol is more likely to turn it's contestants in to stars, but it's crazy how much better the singing talent is on The Voice on average.
The Voice openly accepts people who are/have been semi-pro/pro singers for a long time. I think there was a contestant last season on the Voice who had a ton of YT subscribers or Twitter followers even before it started. Those types are less common on Idol. Some Idol contestants have even gotten flack for not being a green singer.

its all about marketing. i guess with simon you can do that. look at fifth harmony from xfactor. simon did it right. those girls are still around at least on Disney lol.
maybe that's why i don't watch the voice. it's all about the singing and i'm not into those sap stories
. i'm all for the drama. which is why idol is my goto reality tv show.

He's the most talented performer I've ever seen come out of these shows, he was totally robbed. Too bad his actual music sucks though.

The sap stories are definitely annoying lol, but I prefer the focus on process on The Voice that they only kind of hint at on Idol. The focus on trying to make the contestants better singers and finding (for lack of a better term) their specific voice and showing specifically how they do that is really interesting to me.
Don't get me wrong though, I still enjoy Idol.
Still mad about Malaya getting robbed just because they saved that blando kid the previous week!! >:[

His tour with Queen has been pretty damn successful and he's really good in the videos you can see of him performing with them.
He may not have had a big radio hit or anything but he's been performing pretty consistently since his stint on Idol and he draws a crowd.
Lot of the winners (and non-winners) have gone on to successful careers. Just depends on how you define successful. To me if an artist can make a living at what they love and have artistic choice in what they do then that is success. To others, they have bombed if they aren't on the celebrity gossip rounds and don't have mega-popstat status. That just seems a bit of a narrow view to me.

Underwood - I don't get country but there you have it...she sells
Clarkson - hit the genuine 'popstar' label and sold a ton, probably some of the success was that she was the first idol
Daughtry - has sold a lot of albums and frequently on the radio
Lambert - couple of successful albums and the second one was actually good, some acting, toured with queen to sold out arenas and raving critical/popular reviews
Hudson - having an oscar doesn't suck
P^2 - hit the timing right with the song written for him. sold tons
Sparks - still see her popping up here and there both in acting and music
McPhee - not music but doing well her tv gigs it would appear
Beyond those there are a ton who are doing well in the industry even if you haven't heard much of them - Cook, Allen, Archuleta, McCreery, Barrino, Gokey, etc. Some on Broadway as well.
