Is the wait as bad on NA servers?
End-game is always the focus. Raiding, challenge modes, PvP, etc. If you haven't been into that in the past then it'll probably be no different here.So is there a lot of end game content? In other words, is there more than there has been in previous expansions? If not, I'm going to get bored pretty quickly.

From the screenshots of the EU queues. I'd say we have it worse in NA.
Oh you got a 3000 queue? Let me show you my 5000 queue ;____;

Ravencrest EU reporting in!
Queue has only moved ~1000 places in the last 2.5 hours, hate to think how high the end is now.
Can your purchase the boost with gold or real life money?
I'm telling y'all, moving to a low pop realm is a bad move in the long run in my opinion. The waiting sucks now, but after this initial rush you'll be glad you didn't move. I was on a lower pop server to kick off Mists and it was a real bummer compared to the high pop one I'm currently on.

How are people level 100 in like a days time? Mind boggling.

With LFR, cross-realm guilds, and the new custom groups there is little point in being on a high pop server anymore.
What's the biggest queue anyone's seen? Ragnaros EU just cracked 5000, and both Outland EU and Burning Legion EU are hovering around 4000.
I just gave up on a 3000 queue because the estimated time jumped to 18 hours. Now I know it moves around a lot and is highly inaccurate but it broke my will to wait. Will probably leave it until Monday now as the weekend is surely fucked.
Also guys in my guild said leveling is super fast. Averaging an hour per level once out of the Shadowmoon shitfest
I understand that, but I don't remember being able to level through an expansion so quickly in the past. I really hope the raids feel fresh.
Thanks for the replies, everyone! I'm probably going to buy it after work anyway....
Cross-Realm guilds, what?
And I mean, if you dig the fantasy of a lively, exciting world with a bustling economy, and like seeing players around in the world, it's a high pop realm for sure over the life of an expansion.
But yes, a lot of those things alleviate the problems.
AH are cross-realm too now lol.

Nah the last two expansions were rather short too. A lot of people blazed through Pandaria and I remember I got to 85 in Cata in 2 days without binging. Northrend was the last one that took more time.
Ok my first engineering goal is a sky golem
They are?
I didn't even think the recent server mergers (like Suramar-Draka) mixed economies. I thought it was just a merging of the Alliance, Horde, and Neutral AHs on a single server.

Says the AHs are unified on merged realms - makes sense - but yeah, is it more Cross-Realm than that now?

no they're not...
Guilds aren't server specific since connected realms happened. I think I'm the only person from my server in my current guild. And since the zones are cross-realm as well, even lower populated servers are lively. I see people all the time, even before this expansion.
High pop servers are good for taking screenshots of a 1000 people sitting on a quest giver or showing off how high your queue is, but outside of world PvP, which doesn't exist anymore, virtually all of the benefits of being on a packed server have been eliminated by Blizzard with additions over the past few expansions.
I guess it depends on your playstyle, but I disagree. Economy and auction houses still aren't cross realm (shit was awful on my low pop server) finding quick groups for things like world bosses is easier (I can fill a world boss group in trade twice as quickly as I can with the raid finder) and I don't do LFR, so being able to find quality players for mythic is infinitely easier on an active realm. With LFR, cross-realm guilds, and the new custom groups there is little point in being on a high pop server anymore.
You're correct. No current CRZ in WoD.Also, didn't they say current level continents would never be CRZ? Like, Pandaria was never cross-realm before WoD hit, right? And that's really what I want; a busier realm, even out in the world.

And this is sort of a nebulous thing, but I just enjoy the world being active. It makes the game feel alive. When I came back for Mists to a low pop realm it was just a drag. It didn't feel like much of an MMO.
But some people may like that, so I don't mean to speak for everyone. I just think the permanent advantages of a highly active realm far outweigh the temporary negatives.
Also every zone has a 100 level content, every zone also functions like Timeless isle with rares, treasures and sometimes random events (I didn't see many or get credit for events though so not sure). Quite a lot more work went into these zones than in any previous expansion.
Yeah, it takes like 8-12 hours to get to 100.
I'm getting WAY too amped up about the servers going live any minute, when that probably won't happen at all.
Fuck it all.
Pandaria felt excruciatingly long to me, I loved leveling in Cata. My friend and I actually quit after level 86 and didn't come back after 6 months later.
