Yep they announced the additional population test was successful so all realms getting boosted. Of course for some servers its still a bandaid especially as people get off work
Just keep doing the quests you see after getting off the boat. It's not that much. They pretty much throw you in to the garrison as soon as you're off the boat.

On the server browser there should only be queue if it is listed as locked.
No reason to deal with headaches from WoW right now. I'd give it a week or two. Preferably two.

I got lucky and managed to get in this morning right after server maintenance - no queue. Played for about an hour. When I came back around 12:30, the queue was at 5500. I've been in queue now for 4 1/2 hours and it just ticked under 2k.

For some reason global is grayed out.
Draenor is fucking beautiful after MoP they stepped it up even more. Also the music a lot of cool stuff from TBC and Eastern Plaguelands/Wotlk woven in with the dark and fel energy being done in the end with ner'zhul yeah it feels good to be 'home' again in a alternative universe. Also Akama is boss he was that in TBC but seeing him before the corruption he is very cool.

If you logged out and right back in you don't have to deal with a queue, that's your grace period.

everytime a new WoW xpac comes out I'm so tempted to start up again, but with school and work it's a hard sell because I know how much of a time sink it is with daily heroics, daily quests, weekly raids... I find it hard to make time for any other games when playing WoW

The mining thing means you can skill up on any node but you won't get the actual proper resource unless the skill level is high enough. Was introduced in MoP
No, they now roll all older expansions into the core game when a new one comes out. No need to buy Pandaria at all.

After the dark portal you'll go in to the starting zone. Like an hour into quests on there you'll get on a boat to leave. So just keep questing and you'll make it.

Could be a zone, phase, addon, or session issue. Try /reload or switching zones if your server is full.
It sure does i will post some pictures later they amped it really up with every zone it looks phenomenal.
Europe is about to get the population caps raised. Sadly it wont make 3k suddenly 0 but will help

I guess i am on a fairly vacant server because the highest i've seen a queue is 700. And most of my guild is already 100.
I've put in a full day today and no issues. Seems like normal wow expansion for our side

Man, I'm gonna have to install some remote access software on my computer so I can queue before I leave from work. That way I can play when I get home.

The only way to combat this is the personal foresight of creating a character on a realm that has a completely different timezone.

Rest assured, it isn't a normal expansion experience. If I hadn't already purchased it I would seriously consider canceling my account.
It seems like a normal expansion experience to me since it is the weekend after launch. The queues always sprung up even after big patch updates back in the old days. The population caps have been reset and given a boost, there are people screaming through to 100 on lower pop servers, and anyone sitting in a queue has to deal with the fact that they knowingly rolled on a high pop server.
The perfect storm scenario of having an expansion give a free boost to 90 on a character with no new race/class only makes it even more fun for the English. The fear of AFK for those already in the realm doesn't help either.
It's a shame Blizzard didn't "borrow" the server overload systems that were put in place for Guild Wars 2.
Joining a high pop server when the last 'big queeus' were 2000s at the absolute highest isn't really the same as being stuck on said high pop servers then the queues are in the 6000s.
It has been a longtime for long queue's and looks like Draenor puts a lot of people back in swing it fucking sucks yes i understand it but i can say MoP wasn't super smooth also i had the experience when going on the gunship from the alliance went off to pandaria same thing happend stuck on that ship because everyone want to the same thing. It happens and i there working on it hey at least there transparent what there doing every hour. They will give us gametime just wait.
Overall i have a good experience with the expansion the questing is damn fun and draenor is beautiful.
