Yes it will! I suspect yet another high rated game by Nintendo incoming and we all know how much gamers love quality gaming.
Of course Captain Toad isn't a system seller, but we all know that it's software sales that drive up profits, not console sales. With numerous cheap deals on the Wii U, other existing games that do work as initial system sellers (Smash Bros, Mario 3D World, Mario Kart, Wonderful 101) this game will act as the unifying push to success.
Basically imagine all the different demographics brought in from the varying pools that the previous system sellers drew from all voting with their dollars on one single title, Captain Toad. This will be making a giant wave from all those initial splashes imo.
As for the poor sales in Japan, part of the reason this game will be such a runaway success is directly related to Christmas and the lower price point. Cultural factors are something that can't be ignored when predicting success and failure.

Captain Toad will be so successful, Nintendo's next console will called Captain Toad Entertainment System (CTES). It'll launch with Captain Toad 2: Captain Toad's Revenge of Captain Toad and all the controllers will be mushrooms that'll need replacing every few days. The mushrooms will be region locked.
By 2016, Nintendo will have made enough money to purchase Earth. By 2017, Earth is renamed Captain Toad. Everyone is mutated into Toad's and forced to learn the official language of "WAH WAH HERE WE GO EH HEH".

I Definitely think so. I mean think about it, none of nintendos competitors are putting out an inventive and charming game at this level like captain toad treasure tracker. Most of microsoft's studios couldn't even Dream of coming out with a concept like this without making it the color of mud and adding sharp toothed spiky haired monsters and protagonists with guns. It sickens me when I think about the state of the industry right now and I for one am glad to be here to support nintendo and their efforts to keep the creative juices of this industry floating. It's no wonder they're both the best publisher and developer of the video game world.

Yeah there are some good games but its still average. Sony and MS output is extremly bad.

haha right..this makes perfect sense. i believe nintendo makes quality games, and i like them. i didnt have to lower any expectations, i never believed for a second nintendo was doomed like a lot of people believed not only here but everywhere. Nintendo is not going anywhere, and if you cant handle that, you should let other people enjoy their console without you making assumptions about how we are blind and we lower our expectations. if anything, i have massive expectations for nintendo to deliver on the next zelda and star fox game.

Probably not, but it is my most anticipated game ahead of Smash or Bayo2, or any other game released during this time. Nintendo knows how to be charming!

Wii U isn't less shitty just because the other consoles are also bad. A bunch of rehashes and cheap spinoffs isn't anything to write home about on a console 2 years old, yet still lacking a single must have or ambitious titles on par with Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime, Goldeneye, REmake, etc...
These are all supporting titles, but nothing to own a new gen console for. Fucking Musou/Warriors alone is the bare minimum a console should offer, not a showcase title of any form, lol. Bayo 2 is the closest making this console look almost less of a joke, maybe Mario Kart too, because it's the first Nintendo HD title showing proper production values and... that's it.

I don't think Nintendo is in as bad of a spot as they're perceived to be in general, though. I just don't know if kids will want amiibos when they haven't generally wanted a Wii U and can only use the amiibos on Wii U for now.
