Some Playstation Experience games and developers announced

Would anyone actually give a shit about Crash Bandicoot anymore? I was under the impression that the Activision produced Crash games were largely poorly received by everyone, which would seem to be borne out by the fact there hasn't been a new one in... what? 7 years?

Why would Sony want to buy the rights to an IP so thoroughly run into the ground?

Crash Twinsanity and Crash Nitro Kart were pretty legit. Not quite Naughty Dog era quality, but still worth giving a try.

There was also that new Crash game that looked sort of promising but was unfortunately cancelled.

Imagine if Sony brought it back.
Sony plz

If they released another Crash it'd probably review in the 70s and sell a million or less. It would basically be like the new Sly, sell decently but not light the world on fire. Would probably be a waste of time.

That boot music for PS2 brings back so many memories.

What secrets are they talking about though?

The towers you see in the bootup change in numbers and height depending on how many games you played and how long. An approximation from a quick read of your memory card I guess.

Not really...Crash was one of the best selling Ps One titles (around 6-7 Million)
It was THE mascot of the Ps One and therefore many Ps Fans have special emotions to this game.
Even if Plattformers arent popular anymore, the Hpye alone would make this Game have good sales

Just look at the PSN Downloads of Crash (over 500.000 in Europe alone --> WW 1 Million?)
The Hype is real

"A Night Under No Man's Sky" at Playstation Experience

They'll be showing new gameplay, features, and will be doing "something completely different that's never been done before".

Multiplayer Morpheus.

Its going to be some special thing where they get a load of players on the same planet in VR, exploring.

Tales from my ass obvs, but 'A Night Under No Mans Sky' doing 'something different that's never been done before'?

OOOO.

I'm as hype as anyone around here for NMS but "A Night Under No Man's Sky" sounds a lot more like a passive event than something you are actively controlling. I envision something more like BBC Nature's "Blue Planet"; a documentary "film" giving a more in-depth look at planet generated with NMS' algorithm; its ecosystem, etc.. Maybe in a room set up like one of those domed Omnimax screens or something similar where you're reclined way back and the screen takes up your entire field of vision to enhance immersion.

Im thinking it will be some sort of big projection on the ceiling of the floor that is running the game at all times watching the sun set on different planets

I'm hoping for some type of VR tie-in, but I think you're right. It'll be some type of journey through the No Man's Sky universe showing off more diversity in their procedurally generated worlds.

Trying to get out to this, flights are expensive as hell right around that time :(

edit- also what time is the keynote and what's the best time to be there for that in order to get a seat?

No idea about the time but I've seen one gaffer said he'll camp overnight. He won't the only one for sure.

I do hope it happens.

Though thinking they might to a Remastered version of Crash 1-3 (kinda like what was done to HALO) instead of going straight to a new Crash.
Yup, would be amazing! The perfect fan service for the lifelong PS fans.
The first thing they have to do is to talk with Activision, make a deal and acquire the IP.

It sounds great, but after MS paid 150+ million for Gears, can you imagine how much money Activision would ask for the IP? Let's say they give Sony a deal and sell it back for $200 million, could Sony make that back? ROI is important here

Yup that is the one " worry " most people seem to have. Diversity in the planets, worthwhile stuff to explore and discover.

Showcasing 10-15 minutes of pure exploration and showing off what is possible to find while you are out in the universe would be a smart 2nd showcase. Take out all the fighting and mining and trading and bounty hunting and whatnot and do a showcase about nothing but exploration. Sort of like the intro to the E3 video but just even more in depth spanning a solar system or something like that. Going from planet to planet and running around and finding hidden caves and what is inside those caves and finding perhaps hidden alien civilizations or hidden structures or this or that.

Get people thinking, " oh shit what could be in there! " and " oh shit can't wait to find something like that myself! ", etc.

The only worry I have heard so far about NMS is the disbelief that a universe this size could be interesting. So, all Hello Games has to do is begin to showcase why the universe will be interesting and worth exploring.

end it with the player walking up to something like this

Something truly alien, truly mesmerizing, truly breathtaking where it makes you go ... holy shit I will explore a universe to locate whatever the F that is

But i really want to see all that stuff :(

They could do an action trailer for E3 or something.

When I go around and see NMS talked about, I never hear about the combat or anything like that. The only thing I ever hear talked about is the exploration and the doubt that a studio as small as Hello Games can make this universe interesting.

So their job, in my opinion, is to make those people realize it will be an interesting universe to explore. They could do that through picture scans of distant objects in-game or through exploration trailers and things of that nature.

Don't show too much. But just ... hint at the possibilities.

Make it clear the worlds can be interesting and exploration will be fruitful and not boring and then blow people away with epic combat sequences that can occur in the game as well. They have done a REALLY good job with the previous trailers, so I have no doubt this one will be epic too. Time to just whittle down the various worries of the doubters out there.

Plz Adam tell me.....Am I hoping too much?
Will atleast one of these heroes be at the event?

I'm no Xbox fan... in fact, I've never owned an Xbox. Only Nintendo, Sega and Sony consoles but.... SF and KH are no longer exclusive to Sony so not sure why Don Mattrick is shedding a tear... for everything else, maybe? :P

There were some rumours, that the exklusive Capcom Game is Street Fighter :P
Why Kingdom Hearts ? Sora belongs to the PS Family (deep down in my heart)
