Destiny The Dark Below opening cinematic

I like how outside of the horrible opening video it is the only cinematic in the game. Also the story telling is atrocious as is to be expected for the game.

Since I fell for the digital guardian edition trap, I guess I'll see what the 3-5 10 minute missions are like.

Can't believe they have the balls to try to call this an expansion, when it is better classified as anemic DLC.

Ohh they will let us play locked content and we will pay to them! F u bungie. Also looks like you don't get all that much from this"expansion".
You fucked it up Bungie.

Every boss literally is a giant something. Giant captain, servitor, Ogre, Minotaur, vex thing with rotating shield, etc. like you said, hopefully they match the Current raid style of adding other interesting team mechanics and not rely on a spongy giant like every other strike

Well I did say they share the same model. But we are discussing the raid and until now every raid boss is based around multiple mechanics and are nothing like the bosses from Strikes. So Unless something changed recently, there's no reason to think otherwise that the new Raid won't continue the same trend. It wouldn't be a raid otherwise.

well we just had a 2.4 gig update to get "ready" for the DLC plus they said we will have updates leading up to release.

I think some of the play spaces were indeed on the disk but not everything.

Naw, the latest update was 2.9gb(I think) in preparation for the Dark Below.
Oooh okay. I have background updates enabled on my Xbone so the only patch I've noticed was 1MB in size a few days ago xD

Dope dope dope dope dope and Dope. This intro > Destiny's story so far and any cinematic in the game

We're still on this? Bungie said they have laid foundations in the game so the DL won't be HUGE when the expansion launches. Smh

Already own the DLC through the LE, so I'll be playing this. Really enjoyed the core gameplay, but Crota just being what appears to be a giant knight is pretty disappointing. Honestly, I don't know why...did anyone expect otherwise?

The cinematic did get me pretty pumped though, can't lie.

I don't think anyone was saying it's going to just be a giant Knight that we fight. I'm sure there will be new mechanics.

However, it is still disappointing that he looks very much like a giant Knight, like the ones we fought throughout the campaign. Give him some crazy ass armor or something.

I liked the Vex because their story was interesting. Trying to weave themselves into the fabric of space and time and with that you have the teleporting and stuff

But what's this guy gonna do? I can just see this being a big bullet sponge. Nothing exciting.

Plus the Sword of Crota would have been woefully undersized if we didn't destroy it in campaign

The hive are the imminent threat. Also there are theories that the hive win in the future which is why we are given the vex mythoclast by the vex. That the vault of glass is a trial to earn the weapon that can kill crota. This explains the vex time traveling and why they are not present on any planet the hive are on. It also explains why the mythoclast is made for humans and not vex

Ultimate trolling if Bungie required Crota to be killed with the Vex Mythoclast.

It will require a sword of light made by the guardians own light, a level 30 sword will be weaker than a lvl 32. Also wizards spamming attacks while defending from other knights.

I think the sword just disappeared. It never actually said if it was destroyed or not. Botman says something like "It vanished" but who knows ha ha

You know, for an opening cinematic I would've expected more...plot. This was basically a trailer. Why can't they show the fireteam getting beat up? Or more about the Crota guy.

I'm really digging Destiny with the trail version but it seems I'm locked to missions on Earth, could I access the DLC from the trial version or do I need the full game?

You will certainly need the full game. Be warned that the trial is about 25% of the full game.

How do you find people to do stuff with when there is no matchmaking? Do you schedule times with people online?

It's very easy if you are in the GAF ot. The raid is so much fun. Join the Gaf club and you'll get to experience everything.

I know, but since they've been showered with criticism on that part I was hoping they would improve on it.

To be honest I would think these first couple of "expansions" were already set in stone before the waves of criticism came in regarding the storytelling at launch.

I think whatever content comes after House of Wolves will be the real tester on whether they can actually make significant improvements in that area.

Add everyone on gaf first then expand from there. My friends list has atleast 30 people playing destiny at any time of day. Peak times its 50-60 people. Use destinylfg.net add people you like from there or in pvp too.

The first raid was fun, I can see this one having a sword as a gimmick instead of the relic and a "traverse this perilous path almost completely in the dark" instead of a jumping puzzle.
