Halo: MCC Multiplayer "1th" patch "fix" live!

I never said the game is perfect, but I did say it is in a playable state for the "majority of players". I have encountered very few problems since the patch.
Well I suppose you count for the " majority of players " then, not the hundreds of posts on one single gaming forum saying it's broken and unplayable for them.

How on earth did you pay $1000 for this. There's your problem.

How/why did you pay more than $400 plus tax for an Xbox One?

How did you pay $100 for MCC?

The system comes with a usable headset, the play and charge and headset adapter are not necessary. It's not 343's fault you baught a new TV/Monitor.

Id say you are really stretching it here.

He lives in Australia, that's why.

Why should I have to? Why isn't this shit working from day 1? Why is my hard earned money essentially wasted because of incompetence? And how long am I to wait? It is going to be months before this game is in a playable state, mark my words.

Because every country uses USD doesn't it? Oh, wait...

I should totally throw away my $330 headset/mixamp because the included headset is totally awesome shouldn't I?

Ok, I'll play for about 20 hours before the included batteries die and then I'll have a $500 paperweight. Great logic buddy.

Does the XB1 support VGA output? No? Only HDMI? Ok, well the screen I was using since 2009 only has VGA support so that is useless.

MCC is the solitary reason for me buying an XB1. Yes, I have other games (SO/FH2/DA:I) but I didn't buy this console for any of them.

What does your TV have to do with NAT issues?

The real problem is them saying fix your NAT when Microsoft themselves say NAT types aren't an issue on dedicated servers, you know, them things we were promised and are paying for...
Does your screen support DVI?

Eh...which is it? You are both describing completely different experiences.

Level skipping sounds pretty broken.

the campaigns play better than ever before in their history.

its a pity that online/matchmaking is not up to snuff/does not work, because it really took down the momentum of this great achievement of a game collection.

now, I have had other games crash to dashboard once. I also had other games not registering immediately an achievement.
didn't think those games were broken because of that occurrence, why should I think differently about mcc? and personally I did not have either of those happening in my campaigns, but of course I accept that other people had them happening. that is not what we call "broken" and "problematic".

Question: Are the issues mostly online match making? Or are there any issues with single player bugs too? Thinking about picking up a X1 for Xmas with MCC and I play single player mostly.

Since the update it hasn't unlocked any of my achievements. I'm still waiting just as long to get into a game or even find players as I did before the update.

I'm still having issues with crashing and unbalanced games. How do you fuck up a port?

people have returned games for less reason...
this time they actually have a valid excuse, they were boarded on the hype train by Uncle Phil, Uncle Phil has been busy in 'board meetings' so he hasn't been around to give hope to people concerned (his silence is not cool btw) so yeah, people feel like they been duped.

Once it's fixed, its a game that will be in the xb1 top ten online activity for the duration of the consoles life cycle, I'm not denying that, but right now its dead
I played 8 or 9 matches in a 2 hour period tonight. How is the game dead? This thread needs more over dramatic statements lol.

Sorry about the Australia thing, I didn't realize that.

Still, none of that is 343 to blame. They are responsible for the game, that's all. What you had to buy to play it either in general or to play it comfortably is of no concern.

Just tired of seeing the posts "I spent so and so hundred dollars on this game 343!" because no, you spent $60 and the game doesn't work as advertised therefore you are entitled to $60, anything past that I have no sympathy.

A little harsh? This is their big game and a system seller. A game designed to push systems should not be this way. If they bought the console based on 343 hype you cant blame them for being pissed.

I remember being able to play without crashing, save and quit functioning and A.I following you properly...

as I said, I have not had any crashes, but then again I have not finished all campaigns.
is there a specific place where the game seems to keep on crashing or bugging out for you?

I'm holding onto the game because the campaign is entirely new to me but I applaud everyone going after a refund. People often say, even here, to vote with your wallet and this is a great way to say it isn't ok to release something so broken.

You're right i don't blame them for being pissed at all. If you spent a ton of money buying a system, an adapter and the kitchen sink to play one game and it didn't work properly that's super understandable.

But that's a risk those people take. For the people that already had an Xbox One, we took a $60 risk, that's all 343 was asking for. Basically all I am saying is 343 is responsible for one $60 title and that is all. No more, no less.

Wow. As a person that has been able to get a decent amount of games going I'm currently at a Lan party and this game is a complete disaster. The frame rate of Halo 2 anniversary is embarrassing to the point it should've been cut.

The whole game is embarrassing to the point it should've been cut.

People didn't invest in a stock. There shouldn't be any "risk" when you go to the store to buy a game and expect it to work as advertised.

It's really sad that this amazing collection, the orange box of this gen, has been tainted so much because of all these issues and bugs.

Imagine the hype and the joy if it had worked seemlessly day one :(

This is totally untrue. Check the DF article and vids. H2A and H3 are steady 60fps, H:CEA has occasional dips to the 50s, and H4 has dips to the 50s and sometimes 40s.
All of them run at 60fps for the most part. Dips are the exception, not the rule.

Yeah, other than playing in splitscreen (which they should have just locked at 30fps when in Anniversary mode), the framerate is damn solid... not locked, but SOLID

Just got my refund. It looks like Xbox Support has now been given the ability to refund all purchases of the Master Chief Collection:

Normally, all transactions being made are final and non-refundable but since there is still an on-going issue with the game, we can process a refund as a one-time courtesy. But I would just like to inform you that our engineers are doing their best to fix this as quickly as possible especially that it's been more than a week now.

I might buy it again when the issues are sorted but for now hopefully this sends a message.

I actually own the game.

The framerate fluctuates constantly for some levels especially in anniversary mode for both Halo 1 and 2. More objects to render = slowdown guaranteed

Solid/Smooth on classic mode graphics.

Halo 3 + 4 have a few rough sections. 4 is the most unstable of the 4 games in wide open areas.

Kinect IR beams turn off unless you kick the game out to the home screen.

Yeah, there's a lot of hyperbole in here. Some of us are actually enjoying the online matches with crouch victories and the celebratory instant FFAs/betrayals at the end of rounds/matches.

One-time courtesy? Like they're doing you a favor or something. How about if you deliver a broken product to customers, they can get their hard earned money back no questions asked.

This game was the 4th release on the XBO that I've wanted, putting the system one game away from being worth a purchase, but this shit is just unacceptable.

I really hope MS just gives us the original games on PC at some point soon.

Really makes me lose whatever hope I had for Halo 5 being worthwhile as well.

No. Microsoft should have waited til it was fixed before selling the game for money.

Refunds are fair for products that dont work as advertised.

Yeah seriously, get a refund if you came for the MP and send 343i/MS a strong message...

I'm happy with the SP content and it's why I play Halo, period. That being said, it is utter bullshit what the MP folks are going through.

No, 343 should have had the game ready by the deadline they would have known about damn near a year in advance...
Yeah I'm sure they were just sitting on their asses for the past year putting in half day shifts n shit
/s

They were working on one of the biggest gaming IPs and probably would've put in 200% to try and meet a deadline that was probably set by the publisher so it's hardly fair to blame them.

Just unlock all the mp achievements for everyone (which they should never have added) and cut your losses. Whoever wants a refund gets one. Game cant be fixed.

Nope but don't you worry bc they've added Halo 2 ffa. Oh wait...

:(

I know that they are already communicating but we need/deserve more transparency than this. They need to tell us exactly what went wrong and what needs to be done to fix it so we have a rough idea of how long this will take.

I mean they couldn't have thought that the last patch would fix it to a proper state if you look at the condition it's in. And if they knew beforehand, why not tell us that this won't be THE fix, or were they again "surprised" by the lack of functionality?

I don't think they know what's wrong. The game was outsourced to other studios, so they are probably trying to piece everything together. Pro tip, 343, don't outsource your biggest game series to other studios and expect everything to work correctly.

They probably didn't have the time or internal resources to do it any other way; between HCEA, Halo 4, and pre-production on Halo 5, I reckon they probably only decided to do an MCC a year and a half ago, so they need to outsource loads of work in order to meet the H2 Anniversary date.

I don't really like 343's stewardship of the franchise (I don't like their art design or story direction, for instance) but I wonder how much of their troubles right now stem from potential behind the scenes resource wrangling with Microsoft? They have quite a lot on their plate and I wonder if they're not being allowed to expand to the size needed to handle everything. Not making excuses for them, just curious.

For anyone who goes for the score achievements can someone explain how checkpoints work? Since the patch we have been losing hundreds of points whenever we hit a checkpoint (actually it seems to happen when one of us get teleported). We've lost what seems like 500+ points just for hitting a checkpoint.

Is this intended? Do you basically have to be attached at the hip the entire time if you're playing co-op?

The SP content is hardly perfect either. For me there are still skulls that won't unlock and the achievement system is still broken in places. Checkpoints frequently don't work and i still get booted from games when going into the menu. Resume from checkpoint also seems to screw up. Then there are the frame rate problems in co-op (i can deal with that but it's a fuck up).

There are other problems and just little annoying things they got wrong. Not as game breaking as the MP but far from ideal.

Edit: This is also after we had to download that fucking huge patch on day one and wait hours before we could even play the game.
