What is up with this game's performance issues?

-Major framerate drop when the game is paused and the camera is moved (I suspect this is because it loads higher-quality models for screenshots when paused)
-Music starts up after a match ends, then cuts out, then starts up again before the character select screen is shown
-Ridiculous load times. Seems to take longer to go OUT OF a match and load a menu than it does to go into a match and load an entire stage. Melee is pretty fast for loading and Brawl wasn't too bad after the main menu either.
-Multiple times I've seen some kind of distortion (less than 10 pixels tall) at the bottom of the screen when transitioning, I think in single player or event match? Can anyone confirm? It's like the screen is broken - bars of solid colors.
-Slowdown IN A VERSUS MATCH!!! - On Little Mac's stage, in 1v1, we blew up the lights while the camera was zoomed in and it seems like all the particle effects caused the game to lag.
-No or poor antialising on the versus results screen. The cool diagonal black bars at the top and bottom look a little hokey because of their aliasing, more than most or all of the rest of the game.

I was hoping for locked 60 FPS in every part of this game. I don't care about how good the fighters look or HQ models in the pause screen. Melee's frame drops are very, very rare - you have to be trying to find them (black hole glitch). And the music never cut out and came back in Melee.

Haven't played online and I don't think it's fair to expect great performance in the online portion.

I get pretty frequent frame drops in Pyrosphere but that's about it.

I ran into Ashley for the first time yesterday. Wish she was playable.

I'm bad at smash but I'm trying to play weegi and his recovery seems awful so maybe that's why

I could be wrong but I think he's saying that you should be aiming for the edge, not the platform. You kind of want to do that with most characters because recovery moves tend to leave you vulnerable. As part of training with a character, you should practice recoveries back to the ledge.

So I just battled Master Fortress... What the fuck was that?!

As if getting to Master/Crazy Hand in 9.0 wasn't hard enough... I understood nothing. I destroyed 2 hearts but it didn't end there? Confusing.

I'll tell you what. Duck Hunt dog needs his own (new) game right now. One of the most fun characters in any smash. I love how expressive he is.

Maybe it's your Wii U...I haven't noticed any of those issues really. Especially the load times. I don't think I've ever encountered one more than 3-4 seconds MAX doing any of the modes.

Add me people! I don't have any friends on the wii u. I'm pretty new to the game so I am not super good or anything, but I am trying my best to get good! Would love to play with other chill people who love to play the game win or lose. My Nintendo Id is kkoryu.

she took his grenade, might as well take his sound too.
Ha, yeah... I was playing with some friends last night and a couple were severely disappointed that Snake didn't return.

On a different note, I love how the screen shakes when Bowser runs. Such nice little touches like these make this game for me.

Wuh? The loadings are lighting fast! I was seriously impressed after what we saw at E3.

Can anyone give me general pointers and tips for this game?

My last major Smash game was Melee, where I main'd Falco. I was quite good. I played Brawl on launch day and stopped playing when I found out Falco was....very unlike his Melee counterpart. Unfortunately the Falco in this game is the same way. Heavy, and slow.

I don't have a main anymore, and I'm getting my ass whooped online. I think I'm 1-10. How differently should I be playing this game as opposed to Melee? I don't think I'm much accustomed to the "slowness" of this game. Diddy seems to be pretty quick, but people are just walking circles around me online.

I'm also having trouble beating ONE level 9 CPU in this game, when I had no problem taking on 3 level 9's at a time in Melee. Guess I'm really just out of practice, huh?

I've experienced most of these issues as well.

fought against 3 people on the metroid stage that i could totally sense were better than me, so i just beat up ridley the entire time and won

When Bowser runs, I know it strikes fear into my opponents.

Yup, those are the best. I love how Pit has the Uprising dodging sound in this game as well. So good.

wow, i changed the id i was playing the game on and it still retained all the saved data.

I was expecting it to be a new file because i remember some old Wii U games save files were linked to the Nintendo ID.

When did they changed this?

That Kirby eating challenge was annoying on hard. Granted, I was playing on the gamepad which made things harder to decipher, but still.

I believe this is the only relatively recent Wii U game that does this. Honestly, it pisses me off and ruins the single player for me. I'm busy with Pokemon right now so by the time I really get to Smash the single player will be mostly completed by my bro.

Don't regret buying the game, though. At least I won't have to spend time unlocking things and the game's about the multiplayer, anyways

P.S. Even For Glory stats are combined. You can sort by tag, though.
