Are you watching Gotham? I am apreciating Laurel more since I saw Barbara.
Laurel is manageable when she has minimal screentime or when she is a small part of the overall story-of-the-week. When she gets bigger plots, it leads to some awful and cringe worthy scenes and resolutions. Not to say that she could not handle a whole episode on her own and it be interesting, but three episode arc looks to be overkill for a character that works best in small dosis.Oh please. People are acting like it's going to end the show. Why can't anyone just deal with the fact that Laurel is BC now?
I've no idea.
I mean in terms of the show, Oliver just stole Yao Fei's entire gimmick of an archer with a hood. And yet nobody calls him on that. Laurel's just following in Oliver's plagiarizing motherfucker footsteps.
It's not gonna end the show, but it will be a difficult time. Laurel is so ... Laurel. I would rather have a Diggle triology. He is an interesting character with a backstory that can be further explored, the story about his brother and Deadshot isn't completed yet and he could do more stuff with Argus and the Suicide Squad.
. I'm just sort of over the mindless Laurel hate, .
It's not mindless hate. The character simply sucks and she was the reason two characters people liked died (one of her own fault, one to make her transition into BC). Now this crappy characters will be forced down out throats in three episodes? It just sounds like an overkill. No side character has gotten three episodes yet and now the one that gets it is the worst one? Meh.
It all feels fake and forced. Overkill really. If it doesn't work it wil be whole three episodes we'll never get back. I really hope they have some sort of miracle in their sleeve.
So what you're suggeting that the only way to enjoy a show is to love and accept every single thing about it? Really? So basically you've given up on the show?
It hasn't played that game long enough. It feels like they just got tired and decided "screw it! we'll just take a shortcut".And no, it's not fake and forced. At all. The show spent two and a half seasons tearing Laurel down and slowly building her up. It's been playing the long game here, AND sticking to the idea that Black Canary is a legacy character.

Oh shit I totally forgot about that. You guys think we get H.I.V.E. this season or are they going to save that for even later?
It's more an inability to have faith in a show you've watched for three years.
Not everything on Arrow is great, but after two excellent seasons I'd like to think they've merited SOME optimism and trust/
Gotham has it's merits and gladly focuses on them very quickly. Penguin and the gang war is very enjoyable and the appearances of the lesser characters like Selina and Barbara are small relative to that.I got about 15 minutes into Gotham's first episode and turned that shit off. After no less than 3 crouching butt-shots of teen Catwoman in the first minute of the show, the over produced sets, the cheesy Bruce scream, then Jada... holy shit that's bad TV.
I'm not judging a character that will be introduced in the trilogy, I judge a character that is around since the first episode and continued to be a nuisance to my enjoyment. Except the Laurel chin gifs. They were great.Instead of judging Laurel let her prove herself on the trilogy
We don't even got proper R'as yet. I am sure we will get more cues, but League of Assassins first. H.I.V.E. could be the game for next season.Oh shit I totally forgot about that. You guys think we get H.I.V.E. this season or are they going to save that for even later?
The Laurel hate is really starting to piss me off.
I feel like Laurel's arc will be very predictable and the conclusion will be extremely straightforward, so having the 3-season build up just ends up being a massive waste of time, especially when a competent and good Canary was already on the show for a whole season (and one that didn't need 2 seasons worth of fuckups before kicking ass). The only way this thing will be redeemed is if her origin story ends up resolving in an unexpected way.
At this point Laurel's just a shounen anime protagonist, it's like introducing Shinji Ikari when Domon Kasshu was already on the show.
Have we been watching the same show?
Look, I love Arrow. It's great. But it never does the unexpected thing. They telegraph plot twists a mile in advance. Fans knew Sara was alive, they knew Malcolm was in the League of Assassins, they knew Shado was dead off-island BEFORE the show got there. Arrow's not complex at all, the show works because in the end it's about character rather than plot.
They sporadically subvert our expectations (Malcolm Merlyn as Oliver's nemesis, not Tommy Merlyn), but predominantly this is easily the most straightforward show on TV and stuff like 'who killed Sara?' isn't going to be a Twin Peaks style mind screw: it's going to make complete sense and be a plot device to set up further angst.
Twist: Sara killed Sara

Why does the BC costume have so many straps and buckles?
Not that I'm complaining...
Guys, let cut back a bit on the Laurel hate. There are very little fans of her, but there is no reason to keep going on and on about it. We don't want to put Cornballer to work.

Crossover is next week, this week we only have Flash. So when is the crossover this week? or are all shows stopping due to thanksgiving?
I'm not from the US so.. I don't know! LOL
Also if we just keep going in circles. Why would he? It's the Kattie Cassidy hate that was the problem.

I thought Arrow was supposed to be strictly "no superpowers" show, and now we're getting a Flash crossover? (Not that there's anything bad about it)
Could that mean that there's hope for seeing The Atom in Arrow or will we have to see him make an appearance in Flash instead?

Oh please. She is the female lead, not a "side character". She was always meant to be this. .
Also if we just keep going in circles.
Uh..no. This show has only one lead character and it's Oliver.
