Gematsu: Sony to hold Playstation Experience event in December

I'm not asking for much, 20th Playstation anniversary should contain :

- show starts with Horizon reveal
- nostalgia clip ending with Crash Bandicoot reveal
- something mediocre thrown in the mix (Uncharted, Bloodborne, The Order)
- more nostalgia, random reveals eg Parappa and G-Police
- No Man's Sky PS+ beta starting "now"
- Blanka announcing Street Fighter V as PS4 exclusive
- Kaz Hirai laugh, opening scene of FFVII-2 being shown
- "and one more thing" ...The Last Guardian re-reveal

sounds memorable enough
 
The problem with announcing suspend/resume at a fan event is that it's kind of a shitty thing to do, to announce a feature like that as a core part of your product, release the product without it, say almost NOTHING about it then finally add it in over a year later.

Then go on stage and act like we should be celebrating. I doubt that's going to happen, but who knows

Spending a billion or two won't make Sony go bankrupt.

It won't really happen though. After looking into the mods' posts I think we should contain our hype a little. Nothing megaton worthy will happen this weekend, just some pleasant surprises.
 
Either Crash or FF7 would both be the perfect game for what this is supposed to celebrate. One was the face of the Playstation. The other arguably defined it.

Thinking of making a History of Playstation hype video, if I get the time over the next few days. They're always fun to put together, did one for the PS4 launch OT and the PS4 announcement thread. Would anyone be interested in something like that?

maybe they'll talk about the next update and reveal that it's coming in that update along with dlna and Name Change.

It sucks, but we need to tame the hype, it's gonna burn us all!

-Horizon

Although at this point I'll be happy with whatever happens, because we're hearing good things :)

Do hope it's not FFVII though, that would be a waste.

Can't say the same for FF7.

I'm sure Square Enix would welcome financial help with getting it off the ground. It would sell the most on Playstation anyway.

The important thing is to keep track of who is in here having fun and then compare that to the people who end up disappointed. I can almost picture some of the names that will be disappointed right now - most probably haven't even posted in here.

I am pretty sure like almost all of us in here know this is just for fun.

I don't want to do the WorthyEdge thing but that's the outline of the three announcements I've heard without spoiling it for people. I am by no means an insider and never claim to be so I'm going on the trust of the people I talk to, and there has been a case before where I had my leg pulled (years ago World of Warcraft coming to consoles). So I'd take anything with a grain of salt. I won't PM people because I don't give information out that people give me in confidence (unless it's really fucked up and people deserve to know), but I think that's sufficiently vague enough to not really give anything away.

So that's all, you people are already on a runaway hype train so I'll leave you to it :P

I mean, it really isn't that much of a fantasy when Sony people have been involved with Yu Suzuki as of late with Shenmue post mortems and having lunch etc, then we have (I believe) Adam Boyes talking about a list they have of fan requests for various stuff that they are endeavouring to help make happen, and Shenmue was noted as one particularly high up the list.

If Sega can make Yakuza games every other week why the hell not invest some of that money into Shenmue instead, seems crazy they would continually ignore such a huge franchise which may have a relatively small, but also a very vocal and loyal fanbase. It's something, if done right, which could become a fairly big franchise in this modern era again. They'd make their money back from HD remasters at least! I can dream.

I will be so happy if we see Shenmue 3 and/or HD remasters actually happen.

I have not played Shenmue I in ages, it is the only game my DreamCast will no play without skipping... I bought it brand new, kept it really well, but nothing... :(.

Please Sony, bring Shenmue back!!!!!

Man, believe me, I would LOVE if the remake was announced, but I explained the reasons why I believe it won't be. Final Fantasy XV will be given its time to shine, and THEN, MAYBE, the remake will be announced. But there's no way Square will have the remake and the next mainline title in the launch queue at the same time.

Besides, Verendus himself claimed the remake was in extremely early stages.

My craziest assumption about the incoming announcements would be Shenme III, now THAT I believe has a chance of happening soon. But Final Fantasy VII? No way, bro. I'll stick to my guns on this.

If the remake is announced this year, I get banned.

I certainly hope so. I know they will do a super job with the graphics and simulation on the PS4. When you look at their work on the PS3, a PS4 sequel gets me very excited. Also how low key was PD's last release? Im sure they would like to announce the next GT with a much bigger bang
