New Resident Evil Revelations 2 - Second Trailer [Dec2] + Release Schedule

So Capcom punishes you for being an early adopter, punishes you for buying the complete season, and basically hides content behind a paywall (i.e. the disc version). Why the FUCK would anyone not wait for the complete experience? This is bullshit. I know some people will tell me "these are just characters/stages/scenarios" yea right, Capcom actually planned for people to double dip.
 
You can buy bonus stuff separately.

There will be a retail version available for PC.
Also, what I quoted above: all additional stuff will be available to buy separately on PS Store, XBox Live and Steam.
 
I think I'm gonna pass on the trailer, already regret looking at the pics, the game will probably be pretty short, no point in spoiling it.
 
I fucking despise that digital gets the priority. I won't be buying this twice so now I have to decide if I want to wait for all the content and buy the disc, or buy the digital versions. God that is annoying. The industry right now is bleak.

Wonder how much the total will be.
Usually it's a 10 premium for getting a game at retail when they do this.
But I can't see all of that content only being 5 bucks.
10 perhaps but then that makes the retail version only a added 5 in price, which if that's the case for most that's just the better route regardless.

Yeah but you still need to redeem it as a digital copy. Was hoping all the extra stuff would be included in the Steam version.
 
I've already got this preordered. I'm so excited. This game looks like it is really going to capture some elements of the older games, if not absolutely, then it will at least be a wonderful step in the right direction.

Maybe I'm foolish for believing so, but I don't get vibes from this game of the same content as REV 1, 5 or 6. I see something close to RE4 and RE2. I hope this will be great, but I'm gonna bet on decent and enjoyable to be safe.

I'm not hoping for RE2/4 greatness, but I'm also not expecting RE5/6 lukewarmness. Sorry to those who love 5/6, just an opinion.

Graphically it isn't even that spectacular to not even be on New 3DS. Not to mention that 3DS was the only platform the first didn't completely bomb on.

But whatever. PS3 retail in March.

there's a key question here:
what's the price of the disc version

my assumption is that the price of the disc version will ultimately be the same price as buying the season pass + the dlcs included with the disc version because capcom cannot resist putting that stuff up for sale digitally and it 'looks' to be the same while they make a larger profit margin off that equivalent pricing due to the lack of having to print out boxes and whatever
 
Most likely in for either XB1 or PS4 retail, but I'll have to wait and see which ends up being the more solid version. Hopefully Digital Foundry does a decent analysis of at least the first episode to paint a good picture of what's what.

I'd seriously pay $15-$20 for STARS costumes for Barry and Wesker with Chris, Jill and Rebecca added in.

Just use the RE5 versions of STARS Chris & Wesker, RE5 Rebecca and REmake HD Jill.
Doesn't require any work.

Whatever I am totally in and I guess I will have to buy the Wesker DLC after as I wont get the physical copy, I am not paying for this game twice.

I don't know whether this was announced or not, but in the Polish shop where I'm planning to pre-order the game two weapons packs for RAID mode are listed: Power Weapon Pack (Magnum 2005M, MP-AF, SVD sniper rifle) and Sharpshooter Weapon Pack (P10 Pistol, NSR47 Assault Rifle and TAP194 Shotgun).

That's pretty fair. I agree. I did enjoy 5/6 but I doubt it's much like those two at all and I'm happy with that. We've had action RE's for a long time now and if we get one that's much less so and enjoyable, I'll be pleased.

Which is why I don't understand the constant TLOU accusations. Has everyone forgotten the older games ~ actually, ALL the games from 2012 and back? RE has being doing this stuff before TLOU existed...

Yep, I probably be crazy enough to get it on 3DS as well even if it was also released on consoles. Fuck, I'd get the WiiU version over the PS4 or PC version, at least.

Its the halfway outside the room Leon's campaign started in.
So I guess we get that hallway, lobby, dining hall and kitchen for a map.

lol no I'm not serious.

I probably won't be able to get this day one. February and March are kinda packed for me. Plan on getting Witcher 3 in February and Bloodborne in March. Possibly Dark Souls II.

But we'll see. I want to see how this game turns out. They keep talking about a return to survival horror and stuff but they haven't done that yet. I like these enemies so far though. Much better than the standard enemies in the first Revelations. Just felt weird fighting alien fish looking things.

Yup.

I'm a stickler for this sort of thing. I like to have original--->sequel on the same platform if possible. They either do a port of the original RE:Rev on Xbox One, or port this to 3DS/WiiU, or I'll buy the PC version somewhere down the line on sale.

There seems to be a lot of experimentation with retail models here, and they'll no doubt be paying attention to how each method works with regard to platforms, demographics, regions and so forth.

Anyway... This game looks really good. Too bad I'll have to wait for the complete/retail version.

Can't wait to play the retail version. I actually miss co-op, as it was a blast playing with my girlfriend who's now an RE nut.
 
It's so bizarre this game is on everything but Nintendo consoles.. especially 3DS where the original game comes from.

Top right is Zenobia? Which part? I think it looks more like Jake chapter 3 now in that big mansion.
 
Most everything I've spotted has been mentioned here, except one thing.

While the chapters are longer and may serve multiple areas, it looks like for the episodes, they go:

Episode 1: Prison
Episode 2: Outside Forest Island
Episode 3: Deeper underground prison
Episode 4: Mansion-like location

Well those were weapon upgrades though, which still seems to be in this game too. So we might get both weapon upgrades and skills here.
