I don't understand the concern about The Order.

It seems to be a "linear, cinematic third person shooter that heavily combines set pieces and interactive cutscenes with stand cover based shooting"

That is also an exact description of Uncharted, yet no one is worried about Uncharted 4.

I think because they went all in on cinematic....its kind of a huge gamble, so far the only games to get cinematic gaming right have been Uncharted, God of War, Journey and Call of Duty... so many games labeled as "cinematic" end up suffering in the gameplay department because of it so it has people nervous. Two poor demo showings didnt help either as both demos showed of fairly standard TPS shooting in a fairly drab area (graphically) of the game with QTE sequences.

I have no doubt though that RAD is going to knock it out of the park with this one though. I think they showed it a bit to early and the stand out scenes werent ready.

I just love the setting, the art style, the atmosphere and the lycans. And also: Nikola Tesla is in the game, supplying them with fancy gadgets and crazy weapons.

And Shinobi also said that the bullet damage and gore will be insane. I love it when developers don't hold back on that stuff. One of the many reasons I liked playing TLOU was that the melee combat was so brutal and the shotgun, oh man. blowing limbs and heads off up close was so satisfying.

This deserves to be on the new page.

If Naughty Dog reveals that it has been working on this:

I will be more than satisfied.

I also heard the early demos suffered some technical problems like framerate etc, and Shinobi has said that they are basically working in turbo mode to get the game finished. So if resources are strained, it probably made sense for them to show demos with minimal gameplay because that would require the least QA and testing before being shown. An intricate gameplay sequence would take far longer to polish to the point of being presentable.

Im really starting to feel The Order is going to rock people's socks off. I so badly want this game to do great and get greenlit for sequels. The concept is too promising!
I got the dynamic theme for my PS4 today and was really impressed by the music. It was so good, if the game has as much soul as the music does I am going to be a very happy gamer come Feb.
good music in a game is huge for me

I'm a vindictive person. I want The Order to be good so I can rub it in the face of all the people I know who told me it'd be terrible. I'm so sick of people jumping on games before they've played them or because they're "cinematic."

Plz deliver RAD.

I get that but people are saying "the gameplay looks boring", which has nothing to do with the IP.
Some sort of cutscene every 5 seconds, over abundance of qtes, overly scripted gameplay that doesn't have any variance or tension, boring ass level design one could go on and on. It also doesn't help that people who have played the game have concurred this.

I want the game to be great but I'm worried that RAD failed on the concept stage with a hyper focus on the wrong things

I'm leaving tomorrow and I'm so hyped! Wish me luck GAF, on bringing back a 20th anniversary PS4. I really REALLY want one for Christmas....:(

There are plenty of concern trolls, but a lot of people who are critical also want it to be good. i don't care if levels are corridors or if there are frequent cutscenes. It's just the gameplay has to good and the cutscenes compelling. It's the execution that matters. I don't want another Max Payne 3 where I'm losing control of my character every thirty seconds so they can throw garbage soliloquies and video effects at me.

I for one hope they shake up the gameplay in Uncharted 4. There were way too many shootouts in the past 3 and I would like more platforming and puzzle solving.

I don't know. I guess I want it in first person so that the dinosaurs looks even bigger. And Guerrilla because they didn't set the world on fire with their last 2 Killzone attempts. Cambridge apparently did a much better job I'm Vita.

But I'm in love with the concept.
I think the change they need also applies to the perspective. I don't want to experience giant robot dinosaurs down a gun sight. And if I'm going to mount them or sneak I'd rather see my entire avatar. As long as the shoulder cam isn't too tight and narrow.

we all know it looks beautiful, give me consistent gameplay that isnt a bunch of cutscenes and ill buy the game day one.

Looks amazing, but how does it play??

this. no one is mentioning gameplay, seems hyped up for no reason if its just eye candy.

E3 homie.

EA will be at the keynote!

EA? Hmmmm....

Wonder if that rumored SCEJ "FF-killer" will make an appearance.

Verendus mentioned an RPG from Sony, I doubt it'll make an appearance if its a new IP. Probably save it for E3.

uncharted already has developed, well known, and well liked characters.

whatever we've seen on the order characters was all boring so far.

I played that demo of The Order at Gamescom and if that is any indication, Uncharted is way more dynamic in its gameplay. Looking forward to seeing more from The Order though.
