Godzilla The Game (PS3) Stealth-Announced for Summer 2015, Trailer at The Game Awards

Cool, the demo came out in Japan today, haven't had a chance to try it yet but looking forward to seeing how it is.

So it might actually get a release outside of Japan? Why show it off at the VGAs if it's not going to be released in the US?

It also has a release window of Summer 2015, while the Japanese release date is December 18th. It's coming out in at least the U.S., absolutely.

Mhm not interested kinda mad they waste time on this at the Awards and it is one if the reveals..

Summer 2015 is too far away though lol, I guess they need to clear up some licensing first?
Regardless will get it.

Very nice. I haven't bought a PS3 game in so long, it's basically just my Blu Ray player.

I've been interested in this game but it's a bummer we're getting a PS3 game trailer at The Game Awards...

Got a friend who's really into Godzilla, so this'll make her happy. I still need to try the JPN PSN demo.

Various Japanese games got a PS4 announcement after their initial PS3 announcement. I wonder if Summer 2015 could mean a PS4 ver. too.

Read that title like it was a stealth Godzilla game. I was like say whaaaaaaat?
This makes more sense. Thanks!
Though seeing the G man hiding under a box would be cute.

I read the thread as stealth being the genre, then had an image of playing as Godzilla trying to sneak around buildings avoiding helicopters. So awesomely stupid.

So Godzilla '98. You somehow manage to disappear and escape from the army without a trace and can't be tracked.

Hopefully it comes to PS4 looks really cool.

The developers stated they were certainly examining the possibility of a PS4 title (although the phrasing in this article can be disputed between whether it'll be an enhanced port or a new project entirely). Japanese pre-orders have apparently been high enough to consider sequel discussions, but they still want to see how well the PS3 game sells at the moment.

What kind of game is it, from the demo? More like Injustice or maybe Arkham type combat?

I suppose "action-adventure" would be the simplest category to classify it. The game definitely isn't a straight fighting project similar to Destroy All Monsters Melee. I don't know if you're familiar with the stage design of King of the Monsters (SNES), but it's basically small portions of a city sectioned off by a visible barrier on the ground. You plainly move around destroying all notable structures, military obstacles and, eventually, another monster is tossed into the mix after a certain percentage of the place has been completely leveled. Controls are somewhat sluggish to mimic his bulky frame where the left analog moves Godzilla either forward, sideways, or backwards while the L1 and R1 are used to steer the monster in a left/right direction (reminiscent of GTA aviation controls). It undoubtedly has a low-budget presentation as Godzilla clips right through buildings when specific attacks are triggered directly next to them. You'll have to time your moves a little earlier to make them slightly more "presentable", but the game satisfies a basic desire if you ever wanted a "free-roaming" monster title where you just demolish cities and enemies that are in the wrong neighborhood at the wrong time. Ultimately, I'd probably state this game should be reserved to the most die-hard of kaiju fans given its low-end structure and slow-moving controls. However, I'm greatly pleased to hear this production is being localized in the U.S. and hopefully a retail release and/or PS4 variation will be confirmed to sweeten the deal!

This is fantastic!

Played the demo last night and I was surprisingly satisfied with it. I like the slower pace of it and despite some of the assets not looking that good some of the shots/camera angles actually give some surprisingly true to the movies looks.

I also had a fight with King Ghidorah that leveled 2/3rds of a stage, that was fun.

Of course this gets announced two days after I finally put in my Play Asia preorder...oh well, cancelled I guess. Super stoked that this will be in English!

EDIT: God dammit, of course it's not simple to cancel my preorder. Of course.

YES!!!! Was hoping this would release outside of Japan. Huge Godzilla fan, purchased a Gamecube just for Destroy All Monsters Melee back in the day. The more Godzilla games the better.

Godzilla is from Japan

PS3 is from Japan.

I hope you get the idea from here.
Ps4 is from Japan too. I hope you get the idea from here.
Because it's a PS3 game. Exclusive to Japan this year. PS4 is selling like hot garbage in Japan. Do math. Profit!

Well whoever this developer is, I would've hoped Sony would talk to them about exclusivity and how it'd be beneficial for them both to at least also make a Ps4 port, like they're doing with Persona 5
