The Game Awards 2014 Thread: Keighley unveils, less McHales

lol at the Zelda presentation... Showing really bad gyro-aiming + an empty forest and talk about how great it is to zoom in and out on a map... Oh and of course you don't have to control Epona through the forest, she can do it by herself.

That was one really boring presentation for their biggest upcoming game...

@TGA: Was nice, the best things for me were at the beginning though (because of the bad presentation of Zelda) with Metal Gear and Bloodborne. Some cool Indies were announced too, but not much informations or gameplay-trailers, so I can't say much about that.

Well I thought it was a great show.

Props to Keighley, much better than the VGAs were in recent years. I hope he brings it back next year. I'd love to see it grow and get better. Lot of potential there.

No megaton in this show. Ugh.

Show itself was pretty decent tho. At least much better than last year THATS for damn sure.

lol at the hate for the dragon age win.

The game had me obsessed with it for 80 hours, and was a return to form for Bioware's DA team after Dragon Age II. If your game didn't win that's a shame but don't downplay how this game was a shining beacon amongst a craptacular year of gaming.

You left us at Destiny Gaf for DA. . we won't forget.

Good job, Geoff.

Miles and miles ahead anything you and Pike produced in the past. Really leant.

If the show comes to a repeat for next what, make it smaller and it'll be very good.

That's it?

Where are the epic game annoucements?!

I thought this was going to be an appetizer for tommorow, it's more like breadcrums. smh

When is all said and done; even though it's slightly too long and there is a bit too much corporate shilling going on - Geoff did a godamn fantastic job at making this seem like a real, genuine awards ceremony and not just a bunch of crap plastered together.

All I can say is it was far more entertaining than either the Oscars or Grammy's.

I hope Keighly makes some money on this. He went out on a limb and deservers to come out ahead.

Still room for improvement, but this is something i'd actually like to see improved upon.

This is the perfect song for Nintendo.

So this is what you meant
When you said that you were spent
And now it's time to build from the bottom of the pit
Right to the top
Don't hold back
Packing my bags and giving the academy a rain-check

I don't ever wanna let you down
I don't ever wanna leave this town
'Cause after all
This city never sleeps at night

It's time to begin, isn't it?
I get a little bit bigger but then I'll admit
I'm just the same as I was
Now don't you understand
That I'm never changing who I am

That was beautiful. Really enjoyed that.
There were some good moments there and I really do think next year if there is one, that it's going to be a lot better.

Showing the most boring gameplay possible in off screen presentation, with all the style of a Japanese variety show segment minus anything that makes it interesting? Yeah.... They could have easily cut together another Twilight Princess trailer of in game footage, new music, etc, and had a true megaton.

But no, Nintendo gonna Nintendo, and be horrible at presenting their product.

Haha, that wasn't a great trailer, sure. But you're literally citing an amazing Nintendo trailer to say "Nintendo gonna Nintendo", as in, they're consistently bad at advertising? I'm pretty sure Smash Bros. fans don't agree, nor does anyone who saw the Captain Toad trailers, Xenoblade trailers, Yoshi's Wooly World trailer, Splatoon trailers, etc. Pretty sure "Nintendo Nintendoing" results in great trailers. Perhaps not so much this time, though.

I remember the MTV Music Awards were a crazy mess for years. I am getting the same vibes here. Who knows if this thing will go on, but it's certainly an industry that could support it.

lol @ Nintendo fans. they will praise ANYTHING. That Zelda demo looked like it was straight out of 2008 and people are acting like it's revolutionary.
