So they added the option of having throttle/brake controls to the right stick.

I think some of you wanted this correct?

time to re-buy the game. i sold it 7 weeks ago, what other improvements have been made since then?

The biggest change that I noticed besides servers working was the change in online racing were people can't do the pit maneuver and spin you out anytime they want. This has made online races a lot more enjoyable.

Is the Stingray the first US car?

That's enough of yankee cars then, back to superior euro cars!

Isn't Venom US made even though it is "just" a modified Lotus?

Would love to see more US and JPN cars in this, fingers crossed for later dlc.

No, I don't have a PS4 yet, will bite most likely in january after I don't win the Sony's "Fully Loaded" madness competition. Have been drooling since the reveal though.

Eh, I know where they were coming from. There is a certain sterility to the game, though I can't put my finger on why.
Because it doesn't have EPIC crashes and EXPLOSIONS and other BROSAUCE things.

DriveClub is a pure arcade racer. Probably (one of) the purest one in years. It's just about the racing, not some shit that has nothing to do with racing or being able to drive anywhere you want outside the tracks/roads without really learning the ins and outs of the tracks & the cars you are driving. It's no BS racing, but sterile it isn't.

the update is up, it's 2.4GB the weird thing is I already downloaded 1.1 GB and I don't know how I was playing DriveClub the whole time and I'm sure it's wasn't in the download list, as it disconnected as soon the update was available. I hope it is not corrupted.

The 2.4GB is the total size if you didn't have any of the patches.

The patch system on PS4 first checks what patches you have, indicated by the "preparing to download (XX%)" before the download starts.

WOW! Night time trial at Hurrungane with stormy weather and heavy rain in a Pagani is no joke. Weather seems great, love the dash cam view, the windscreen effects are something to behold.

I crashed a lot.

Time to assemble my friends for some hot seat race after race action again.

PLS rushy - local hot seat MP with differently coloured ghost up to six players changing.

Technically the Venom is (was) a Lotus though, right? Kinda counts... ;)

It's the same situation as a RUF: the car is so heavily modified it's considered a car made by a manufacturer, and not a tuned car. If RUFs were, let's say, Greek cars, they would be considered as such.

Yeah I'm uploading a race where I drive like a fucking moron. This shit is HARD. Or at least it'll take some getting used to. Fun as shit though.

Is it almost out of early access yet?

I had budgeted for a PS4, wheel and this game. The botched launch meant that I purchased some PC hardware instead in preparation for PCars. Not even the strong advocacy in this thread is givingnme second thoughts about that decision.

I ran into a bug, by the way. The car models (when choosing one) wouldn't load. Just a black screen. I backed out and backed in again and it fixed itself, though. No biggie.

OMG PRAISE BE RUSHY & CO. They finally added maps of the tracks to the track selection screen in Single Events. Now I don't have to spend a few minutes because I have such a sucky name memory and can never remember which track has what track name. I more easily remember shapes & other visual stuff.

woo, i had noticed connection had gotten slower on my PC and i had hoped the reason was one of the devices connected to the wifi was downloading some update in background.
And it sure as hell, 1.25 GB of the update were already on the PS4 when i turned it on :)
Soon..

If you can't put your finger on it, then why say it is sterile?
I love the minimalistic menus and the fact it's all about racing and nothing else.
And if you look at all the handcrafted cars and surroundings, how could anyone say these is no passion in this game?

But to each his own I guess..

Anyway I want to go home damnit! :p
I'm not saying there isn't passion in this game, I'm just saying there's a certain clinical flatness to it all and that I understand why some reviewers have put that forward the way that they have. Maybe it's the UI, maybe it's the 'menu / menu / menu / race / menu / menu / menu / race / menu / menu / menu / race' style of presentation. Maybe it's something far more subtle that I'm subconsciously picking up, but I'm unable to clearly express. Whatever it is though, I'm able to nod my head when I read those criticisms.

Well it isn't just about the racing, is it? If it was, there'd be no photo mode, no club customisation, no points system etc etc..

Obviously it's a title that people are especially defensive over though, probably due to a lot of the flak it got in the early days for reasons unrelated to the gameplay. Ultimately I'm just giving my opinion. There is some substance to the 'soulless' accusation, even if the chosen phrase made the criticism sound stupid.

Patch came with some niceties too. Minimap are displayed when choosing track. For drift, the section is even highlited. You can also see the odometer of each car and the fame earned with it.

I downloaded the update, installed. Well, some random club I was in kicked me out, probably because of inactivity. Now I can't take Pagani Zonda for a ride :( The weather though, OMG, it adds to the immersion so much.

Anyway, my version history is still at 1.04. It's definitely a bug.

It's from what I have gathered since I don't own it yet :(

No random traffic(you won't be (un)lucky)
No annoying voice in the head
No "WOW YOU BROKE 1/34250 THINGS" crap
No tuning/driving aids to make it easier. Get good or get out. (Yes I know about partial rubberband when you are behind the pack)
No "Grind for this minor thing for 3 hours OR you could pay us more money to skip gameplay!"
No half-assed story
No annyoing radio stations, music or asscreed kind
No messing around with body modifications (A slight downside, I'm sure that some cars would have "official" body mods for them)

If your racing/driving game MUST have things from the list above, I'll assume that your actual game is missing that "soul" people are whining about, that being the actual racing.

Want collect-a-thons / radio stations / some sick body kits, bro / "rpg"? Look somewhere else.

Driveclub is "just driving", intense as hell driving.

Please correct me if I'm incorrect since like I mentioned, I have been following this thing from the shadows and don't have actual experience with it.

The game did release with NO photomode... and points aren't apart of racing? What?

I'm watching streams of this ... What clown thought it was a good idea to make it a blurry, rain speckled mess when driving in 1st person? I hope you can turn that off because I can't even bare watching streams with it on.
