Driveclub weather update out NOW. laawwwwwd.gif

Sry probably been asked before but I'm hesitating on buying it. I thought of buying this once the weather update came out but I wanna know: How is the online? Is it working now? Is it sometimes working? Or not working at all? What works and what doesnt?

Several PGR diehard fans (we were on the Bizarre Creations forums way way back) on here, Shaneus, Jamesways, myself, and a few others have considered this to be the PGR successor and replacement, if that says anything. :P

You are really selling on this game now. My wallet hurts :/ but seriously will have to give this a try now.

Any word on exactly how this will effect the handling? By that I mean the game is not a full simulation, and they still need to keep it "fun", so what does everyone think it should be?

For example, if its raining pretty heavily, a 700hp car will struggle to get any grip. Do Evo leave it like that (which alot of people will hate cos it's not "fun") or do they dial it back a bit so it's more accessible? It's an important thing, because I think that the handlings major triumph is that it strikes the right balance. Beginners get up to speed fairly quickly, whilst there are enough nuances to keep the enthused amongst us slowly getting better and better. Weather could upset this balance.

Personally, I say don't dial it back, let us figure out which cars are good for the dry track and which are better for the wet. Let us learn where the water pools, thus learning to take it a bit easier in that section.

Finally, I just thought of this, I would absolutely freak if I saw a competitor get hit by lightning. Make it happen Evo.

It all works, including challenges. Sometimes matchmaking goes wrongwrong but fine 80% of the time. There is still a lot of content for single playerplayer and they added more the other week.

Yeah guys the game is awesome and very fun online. I'll probably snatch up the season pass soon. I'm loving this game.

It's really sad that this is even an announcement.

I know this might bake your noggin, but there are people who really like this game and look forward to it getting better.

Crazy right? They like the game when guys like you are telling them they shouldn't. Are they stupid or something?

The weather does look amazing and honestly put this game back on my radar.

I saw someone in the thread mention PGR. I have yet to try DriveClub but I am wondering how similar it is to PGR handling wise. I actually loved that series and it would make me way more hyped to hear that it plays in a similar fashion. Any opinions for people who tried both?

I'm not a massive racing fan, but I do enjoy them. DC is the most fun I've had with a racer since PGR2, and that includes all GTs and Forzas in between. The tracks are sublime, the use of camber is far and away better than any racer I've experienced.

As others have said, it's all about the racing. No faff, filler or story and loading times are super quick.

I picked this up today just in time for weather. I really hope this is as good some people say. I'm not a huge racing fan but the gifs on here look sweet.

Does this game have an audio profile for the Sony Gold headset?
I remember at launch they said it would be out in a few days, but last I checked it's still not available. Someone should tweet Rushy and ask about it to make sure they haven't forgotten. I always have my Gold's cranked up when I play DC so I was looking forward to that.

It still should have launched with this - especially given the delay.

As someone who loves rain and hates interior view in arcade racers...blurry rain on the camera in 3rd person is really dumb and just looks ugly there. There should be a way to disable that effect.

Still, this will get me back to playing DC tomorrow.

I love the look of the new course, and the last 3 they just released were all great as well. I'm so glad new courses are all free, they really do add a lot especially when you consider the challenges are now available.

Just burned three hours of Driveclub into my eyes during a play session tonight.

That game can get hard to put down some nights. Just one more accolade... so close to leveling the club up...

Cant wait till I leave work now (not much different to most days then). Really looking forward to testing this out on as many tracks as possible.

May just have to purchase the season pass with this game. I don't normally go for season passes but DC is just that good.

Besides, I hope EVO get as much money as possible. Such a shame if PGR's successor (for me anyway) went the same way as PGR

I don't like the raindrops on the windscreen - they look too discrete. At any kind of speed they'd instantly be streaks like on the side windows.

It would have been interesting to see the reviews if the game released in the state it will be in by the end of today. I re-visited it over the weekend and everything seemed to be working perfectly, it was great fun. I'm looking forward to seeing how the weather has turned out and how it effects the driving.

It's a shame the game has had such a bad rep, many people will probably overlook it now. maybe when it gets the PS+ release it will gather some new momentum (whenever that may be). It's finally in a state where I can recommend it to my friends without caveats.

To be fair I don't think the reviews had any of the technical issues that have plagued the game, that didn't happen until it went live to the public.

But it's definitely extremely under-rated by the press. There is no way this game is less than an 8.
