Controversial GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition Remasters Get Big Update 3 Years After Release

They did a lot more than just fix the skyboxea. Volumetric fog, shadows, lighting, bug fixes, frame rate improvements for the Switch version (it's still not great but better than some first party Switch games), new animation rigging, new controls. I think Rockstar did a good job here as the first patch since they ripped it back from Grove Street, but there's more to be done.

When i heard about the updates, i jumped back in, reinstalling all 3 games.

Its a fairly big improvement. But some atmosphere is still missing. Its been a while since i played the original but GTA3 Especially is missing leaflets and something else i cant put my finger on.

But in the current state. They're enough to give me that nostalgia feeling. If anyone was still on the fence. Id go for it.
You still get a sense of the technology jump going from each game.

Can we have a patch for RDR2 you shites?

Signed

Everyone

Edit: too harsh to drop the C bomb even though they are

Out of interest what do you want done to RDR2?

Can’t speak for the other poster but likely, frame rate bump to 60 FPS, it’s what we all want.

Just a 60fps update with absolutely no visual changes would be welcome, for starters.

Honest question... but for a game like RDR2 that moves at what I would generously consider "a snail's pace," if a jump was made to 60fps, would we even have noticed? It could run at 480hz and it'd probably still feel like it was playing at 30 frames.

I can notice and will not be playing anything at 30fps ever again in my life

No. Cope.
Oh Strauss, please, please.

I played RDR2 at 30 on Pro and now I play it at 60 on PC and the difference is of course (as in any game with controllable camera) huge. So much smoother.
Though it is nice to see Rockstar give middle finger to consolebros for once. Shows that Rockstar treats everyone equally like dirt, not just PC gamers.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

I mean .. extra fluidity, especially when the hardware affords it, doesn't hurt.

So these lazy assholes shit on a legendary trilogy by putting out an IA remastered turd of said trilogy, and then cry about the fact that their studio name is removed from the games because they had no decency to fix their shit in the past 3 years? Fuck off, you deserve to be out of a job, asshat.

I've recently watch a video of a fan "investigating" this and Grove st. are saying they made the patch and Rockstar sat on it for a year or so...maybe there is more to it? GTA trilogy should have been a passion project and we got an AI mess.

Glad I ditched it back in launch day, started gta3 yesterday and not only does it look better but runs great too at max settings. Back then the fps were a mess.

Possibly the patch failed QA, or didn't fix that Rockstar wanted. I'm very interested to see what happened behind the scenes when developing the definitive edition of these games.
