Driveclub weather update out NOW. laawwwwwd.gif

Not at all. The game is, at its core, one of the best racing experiences on any platform.

That said, I mostly take part in drift mode to remain at the top of the leader board and drift challenges from other clubs. (I'm currently leading a club drift challenge on Chile in the Marussia). Racing in racing games doesn't do a lot for me, but I will redo the same stretch of track for hours.

Got any drift tips? I can't drift to save my life.

Get into the drift section. While turning, make a quick e-brake press. From there, control your drift with steering or counter steering and throttling. The rest is getting a good feeling of your drift. Sometime I can just e-brake, turn, and just throttle my way out of the corner without touching the stick for the rest of the drift. It's just pure fun. I trained mainly in the Marussia event and All Britain Drift.

Sometimes you may need to use the normal brake to avoid going overspeed and hit a wall when drifting. This apply especially to the harder drift challenge with high powered car.

Man some of these weather vids look amazing. I wish they didn't have to have the drops all over the camera distorting your view though.

I like the Marussia drift event but the scoring for drift is broken and so are the score on the leaderboard. I just can't be happy with myself if I cheese my way like the top ghost.

Do you mean the challenge? I don't like that people can just fire into corners and get more points, in that respect I wish it scored more like Gran Turismo and removed the points if you hit a side or went off track. I think they should wipe the boards and impliment that rule. Lower scores, but they'd all be legitimate and not hard into the corner and firing into a side wall.

I wonder what type of sales boost they're getting for this weather update? Wish we could get data for that

I also wonder how many sites will stick to their policy of re-reviewing games? It seems like that policy only applies to games that have bad launches and not those that improve dramatically after launch. I know that I never saw a re-review of GT5 even though after Spec 2.0 it felt like a completely different game.

Was curious about this too especially those reviews that knocked it for the online issues. Would like to see the game reviewed again working as intended with the updates

As for sales data. +1 here baby! 20 minutes left to download. Very excited

Welp, that video made me begrudgingly buy the game after holding out for the lies of the PS+ version. They have been real assholes about not giving clarity in the PS+ situation, I must add.

Sorry to ask again, but are there any online issues remaining? Really want to go pick this up after work, but I want to be informed first.

Polygon does this no? Pretty sure they'll update theirs

It was aligned - the $34.99 Amazon price today, weather effects patch and forums saying that the game is running at almost 100% made me buy this. Didn't have a prior inclination of getting this outside of Plus. That eye candy though - I just can't pass it up (@$35).

I heard the game is OK as well.

I meant the tour event Marussia Drift. But yeah I totally agree on changing the scoring rule and have a reset of the leaderboard.

How have they not given clarity? They said it wouldn't be available until the network and servers are ready. Challenges didn't even come online until a few days ago. They clearly still have work to do

Well shit...

I was planning on making sure I liked the driving style with the PS+ edition first before buying, but we all know how that went. $35 Amazon price match at Best Buy works though! Anybody know how well it works with a wheel (specifically the T500RS)? And any needed setting tweaks for something like that?

Geeez!!!!! All those screens and gifs and videos...O.O

So is this game worth getting now?

Can a game be re-released after using that brainwash tech from MIB :) ... I bet this game would score much higher in its current state. I am getting this even though I am not good with racers to support Evo. Really amazing job!!!

yeah that's true. Sites seem to have "roving standards" on when they decide to re-review things.

DriveClub is amazing, the online issues was the real problem. Those are fading and the updates are making the game even more amazing.

Of course, there's an argument to be made that games really should be finished on the day they decide to launch and as such reviews should stay. *shrug* I can see both sides on this one.

This game really needs endurance events, or at least the option to set your own amount of laps on single events.

For racing the AI I think DriveClub is pretty passable, but it becomes a different beast when it's just you, the driving model, the tracks, the day/night cycle and now the weather. I feel like endurance events that would let you just kick back and tackle the tracks with the dynamic time and weather would be absolutely phenomenal, and for me would complete the game.

Is anything like that in the pipeline, do we know?

This is a videogame
You don't see people asking for neckpain in an f1 game either.

wow - you are mixing up visuals with physical sensations in an effort to throw shit at the game. For a mode that is optional, as well.

People constantly ask for more visual immersion in an F1 game. If you don't want immersion, why aren't you also asking for a top-down view?

I think I need professional help.

Just spent over 6 hours driving in the rain, on every track, using nearly every car.

Seriously addictive and so much fun.

You can already set the number of lap on single event. Some online lobby are also endurance race. Last one I did, I had a team race for 15 minutes.

You can setup 25 lap races with AI.

You can do time trials endlessly and let the passage of time happen (w/randomized weather)

Point to point races will end once 100 percent completion is reached.

It works perfectly well with this wheel (that's the one I use).
The game has few settings for the wheels: force feedback and rumble strengths, at your convenience, some assists that you'll want to disable and some key mapping, too.
The only drawback so far with it is that you lose access to photo mode.
Also, you'll still need a DS4 not far away, since the PS button is disabled on the legacy wheels, and you cannot navigate some menus using the wheel's D-pad.

I'm recording a long video of dynamic precipitation and 60x compressed time, anyone dare to speed it up for some time lapsed forage of the weather? I haven't the technical capabilities for it.

From what I have experienced everything now works. The only hang ups I see now are that sometimes it takes a few seconds for everything to log in and load up and leader boards can have some loading times.

Not perfect but fully functional.

Another PSA for people new to this game - the game music is off by default, that's why you don't ever hear any in these videos. (They may also disable them.)

But don't forget about the new USB music feature. Grab a USB, stick some music in a created folder entitled "Music" and you're good to go for custom soundtracks.

Right now going into your stats doesn't work for whatever reason. I wanted to see if it tracked how many hours I put into the game, but it wouldn't load any stats. But all the racing stuff seems to be working.
