36 minutes of The Order 1886 gameplay (offscreen)

the fact that they haven't still shows how incompetent they are from a marketing stand point though. how was that little snippet of gameplay we had during the keynote appropriate for a game everyone is genuinely wondering about that has had many previously daft showings and is only two months away? Uncharted had a flippin' 15 minute demonstration, and it's a year away!

One day I hope someone releases a retrospective on what went on in discussions of how to show the game to the world, because fuck.

Sony sent out a preview code to various sites this weekend (I just recieved mine), so they are at least trying to do something..

I expected ND to be the ones to floor me the most, but I’ve never played anything that looked so close to CG before. The visuals in this game are just hard to believe. I hope this doesn’t kick the fans on my PS4 into overdrive.

Τhe camera indeed needs a bit tweaking in the way it follows player. I also think that while not aiming, the camera needs to be a bit further back. The character model takes a very big part of the screen as it is and yes it is an unbelievable model but when you have a camera so close to the character and such confined spaces, navigation and camera work gets problematic.

I played a different level of this game at an industry show earlier this year. It is currently the only reason for keeping why I am keeping my PS4 and not selling it and then picking up another when Uncharted is released.

Yes it's a bit linear and extremely narrative driven but so was TLoU and we all know how that turned out.

You know I was watching the first few minutes and I was like, okay, this is the most linear shit ever, crap sticky covers, etc, etc, but you know, after all, it's well made, nice ambiance, exploring a zeppelin, nice setting, etc, so after all, I could enjoy that...

But then at 9:20, insta-death QTEs ? SERIOUSLY ? in 2014 ? Seriously, fuck this guys...

Plus it's like, the stupidest context ever for a QTE-fest : "i just threw a smoke grenade in a third person shooter, WHAT SHOULD WE DO KNOW ?? yes, melee QTEs seem logical".

I've got nothing to do of my Q1 2015 so I'll probably end up playing this one way or another, but seriously some of their choices.... I really expect a mixed bag out of the whole experience.

Serious Max Payne 3 vibes, which worry me. It seems 30 seconds of (actually very enjoyable-looking) gameplay, followed be 1 minute cutscenes, peppered with ample 'Triangle to interact'.

I hope it's not like that, because the actual gunplay looks solid and the settings are wonderful.

are you guys allowed to capture video of it for previews?

o Broll is for EDITING PURPOSES ONLY and is not to be posted in its entirety

o Share/Livestreaming/direct feed of the preview build is not permitted

o Creating or pulling your own video and screenshot assets from this preview copy is strictly prohibited

o If you captured over the shoulder footage during the event – please do not use this and employ approved BRoll instead

so nooo...

Day 1 for me.
Edit: Stopped watching, don't want to spoil it to much. The game play looks a ton of fun. I don't mind the subtle interruptions from story telling. Graphics are beautiful but we expected that already.Feb 20th couldn't come here soon enough. This and Bloodborne is going to amazing for 2015 imo.

guys guys guys

My bro Sawyer noticed there is a button prompt to throw back grenades (even though the silly French journalist does not make use of this)

GLORIOUS UNCHARTED 3 GRENADE THROWBACK IS INCLUDED

Enough has come out over the last 6 weeks to cover anybody's Q1 especially since Dying Light is out next month too. There shouldn't be any reason to pick this game up unless you actually want it or don't like Far Cry, Dragon Age, GTA, Halo etc.

You can definitely throw the grenades back at the enemies in this game. I know because I've done it.

Looks very Resident Evil minus the horror.

It's nothing like Resident Evil. Gears of War and Binary Domain are probably the closest comparisons that I can think of.

My kind of fucking game. :)

if you skip to 19 minutes ish there's a sniper section. I was actually starting to think it looked quite good and then the guy must've run out of time or something and then a cutscene kicked in and the mission restarted. the graphics are nice but the gameplay is prehistoric.

Hmmmm, ok that is already better than the gameplay trailer Ru showed at Playstation Experience.

I don't mind too much if there's no multi, but coop would be nice. This is the kind of game i'd love to do the campaign with a buddy online !

The atmosphere is the best of all current gen games so far. Damn, this is good!

If only RAD had shown THIS gameplay to the public... There is actually stealth!

This game belongs in my PS4!

So I seen that hacking mini game, lockpicking, stealth, sniping, and full on gun battles all in that 30 or so minutes

What?

It was a time sensitive part what do you expect?

Lol, open the fucking lock allready!!.

Anyway, game looks gorgeous. I absolutely think it has too many unnecessary cutscenes but i don't mind well done QTE-s. They can make the game give more tension/ pressure.
I like the cover sustem and the shooting.

Ofcourse graphics and artdirection and atmosphere are some of the very best i've ever seen.

Voiceacting is also very well done.

Well yea, there's rebels trying to kill the guy, so you have to take them out rather quickly.

When I say quickly though - you a lot of time, the guy playing was just really - really slow.

Probably the best graphics I've ever seen. But the game looked really on rails and kinda scripted and boring. Seemed to be lots of cut scenes followed by small sections of gameplay then back to another cut scene.

To each his own I guess, I don't really care about Dying Light, Far Cry 4 is awesome but I'll be done with it before then, don't need more GTA, not sure about Dragon Age, don't want Halo... (but I'm certainly not saying I don't have a backlog :D).

I personally don't have much to look forward except for Sunset Overdrive's story DLCs in the next 3-4 months, so I think I'll check this out just because the whole "Quantic Dream meets Third Person Shooter in steampuk London or something" makes me curious, plus it's gonna be a polarizing title and I'll want to know for myself so I can have a better opinion that "herp derp so boring i looked at vids guys".

judging what the pic is from, you mean a game that is so painful to play you feel great relief when you finally stop?

Obviously he meant the game gives you the same great feeling like you've been unable to pee decently for months and suddenly Michael Clarke Duncan (may his soul rest in peace) uses his magical powers to relief you of this problem and shortly after you take the best pee of your life and the feeling is indescribable.

That indescribable feeling is The Order 1886.

Haha, poor Tom.

Had to live so many years.

That moment when you realize that what Michael transmitted was actually black water.

Man going over the video again, I'm blown away by the attention to detail. It's like they spent hours on every room in the blimp, making sure it looked just right

graphics are really nice but some of the animation during combat is off. the player in the video is really bad but even still it doesn't look very fun to play. I still have my preorder just in case the final product turns out good.

They should have implemented contextual grunting when the character enters cover. When there aren't any (alerted) enemies around, he should do it silently without the heavy breathing. I noticed this in TLOU too, and I think this slight modification is the obvious next step in immersive player character sound effects.

we have confirmation that the game features more open environments as well right? Not just confined spaces yes?

I loved what I saw, but I do hope we get more open areas.
