Today's dumbest thread: I bought a Wii U yesterday, kinda regreting it

He has to play some games first to have a quick menu built for him.

Ive had the quick menu fail several times and im about to turn the damn thing off.

If you buy a WiiU save yourself some pain and keep its use as simple as possible. Buy games physically as well.

Install of smash digital took several hours

OP I think you need to spend more time with your Wii U. I love mine and the system has lot to offer. To be quite honest I do not understand your rational.

perfect mod edit for the title. The day is still young though. There could still be dumber threads than this.

People are still complaining about the WiiU UI and menu. Deep down I knew we'll never heard the end of it.

Play the games OP. Enjoy the console. Don't be "that guy".

I really don't understand you and I won't try, but if you don't even open the goddamn games to try the console out then return it. You may regret it in the future but you will at least sleep well tonight.

Same thing happened to me about 4 months ago. Hated the interface and controller. I got the refurbished model from Nintendo and couldn't return it so I traded it in. The way I see it is you can spend $400+ for 3 or 4 games you might want or put it towards the console(s) you own and buy games for that. It's not like I don't already have a backlog between PS3, PS4, and PC. Couldn't justify a Wii U in it's current state.

True its not like they are gonna fix it at this point

The games are some of the best around. Its Nintendo. You gotta deal with some thingd to get to the good stuff.

I cant get smash out of my head. What does that tell ya

Ok, maybe i need to elaborate things a bit more clear, a friend of mine got the console on BF with some of the games i got ad well, went to his house, played the games and had some fun, than better deals star to show up and i got this urge of buying the console, maybe it was nostalgia, i don't even know, i just that now that i have and think about what's to come for it next year that i like it's only zelda, but im in a place that my mind is 50/50, keep it, play the games to completion and than what? Have it there, just collecting dust? But it was such a good deal that is what's keeping me from returnjng it, i got the console and those 5 games for $387 and change at BB

Based on your grammar and spelling alone, please kindly return this console to the store ASAP....

but then i played the bayonetta 2 demo and holy shit, that game looks and plays great, but is very dificult to use the menu of the console, everything is so slow

wat

the games i got worh the system are m, DK:TP, zelda WW:HD, mario k8, SSB, super M3DW

"m"? What's that? Mario? Monster Hunter? Mass Effect? Musou Orochi 2 Hyper?

have any of you wii u owners had that feeling of just returning the system?

yes, I actually wanted to return the PS3. Sadly I bought it in Hong Kong, so I can't easily return it. Returning Wii U? That would be crazy.

I have a feeling that I am in a joke thread.

What's gained from a thread title change like this? It pretty much just guarantees people will dog pile on some guy. What a childish action.

Still waiting for my Wii U to arrive (next weekend is going to be glorious) and from time to time I kinda almoooost get scared by threads like this one. But then I open them and read the OP, just to see how some people don't really know what they want and buy things they don't really want and/or need. Just like that last "Wii U disappointment" thread from awhile ago, when someone complained about lack of games... like all those unannounced ones (Metroid and whatever else).

P.S. Love the title change here.

Congratulations, you got a bunch of games that have more polish and are not as disappointing as 70% of the releases on other consoles this year.

Make no mistake. Its an inconvenient setup as a modern game console.

Outside of those annoyances lie some of the best games this gen.

Thats why people dont care to hear this type of stuff. The ends justify the means in Nintendos case.

And we could argue Nintendos inabilities into the ground and already have many times over.

please tell me you're joking

Guys, should I sell my Super Nintendo? The games are fun, but there's nothing coming out for it next year. I could play the games to completion and then what? Have it there, just collecting dust?

The edit doesn't really help. I don't know... my suggestion is to just keep it and enjoy the games that are on there. I have 20 some-odd games for it, 14 of which are retail releases. Even if nothing came out for it in 2015, there's still more than enough to keep you busy for some time to come.

The browser is using the 2GB system memory and not the internal storage. If what you said is right, what will happen if you fill up all the internal storage? The browser can't be used?

That's why I used the word "frankly", because I cannot understand it. The startup of the Wii U Menu became slightly more time-consuming, but that can be explained. The Internet Browser? I do not really know.

For some people the game experience entails more than just booting it up once. It's easy to imagine that someone would regret purchasing a console if they feel its underworkings are inadequately structured in a way that limits or complicates their experience.

I'm not sure I'm understand what you're saying? Could you elaborate further?

There are lots of video games in places where people don't have to slog through poor interfaces.

I wouldn't say lots, WiiU and? Definitely not my PS4 and even my Xbox One usually takes more time from being turned off to actually playing a game, unless I have it already on suspend (godly feature) in which case it'll be as fast as using the QuickStart menu on WiiU.

I don't know if you own the console but even then you must have spent just a few minutes with it since all you're saying are made-up problems or things which were fixed ages ago via firmware updates. Definitely looks like you're just parroting other uninformed people, helping spreading misinformation yourself.

I can see that happening to me, which is another reason why I haven't pulled the trigger on WiiU myself. There's a bit of risk that comes with buying new consoles these days, and as I've gotten older, I've found myself more content to wait awhile and make sure that the money I spend is worth it.
