Vergil teased for DMC4:SE! (Also, DmC Definitive Edition trailer)

With what they add into previous reworks, I think it's fair to expect new features like the ones Dahbomb mentioned. Too much caution. I mean, I'd be shocked if they weren't adding anything new rather than not.

Do you guys think this is a test from capcom? If DmC sells more we get DmC2 and vice versa with DMC4 and 5?

all the stuff from the PC version is expected, but i wonder if playable vergil in DMC4 will come with expanded story, cutscenes, levels, enemies, bosses, etc

maybe even changes to the original games, or even a boss rush mode, but thats too good to be true

DMC4 on PC had a DX10 version; I wonder if the "new-gen" SE will be DX11.

They need to at least add the additional difficulty modes and parameters, like no timer in Bloody Palace, that DmC is getting.

Also stuff like Boss Rush mode is a must, personally.

I want a boss rush version of bloody palace and a "fight Angelo Creedo easily with Dante with no bullshit involved" mode

Must Style mode and Gods Must Die would be fantastic too

Aaaaah I wake up to this?!

I'd been thinking they were planning on quietly sending original DMC series to that nice farm upstate, but now I've got this burgeoning hope for DMC5 after all. And Vergil! WHAT. I don't even know how I feel right now.

Getting DMC4 SE for sure. This could be a "Buy this or DMC5 gets it" hostage situation. I will buy that shit multiple times, baby, ilu.

A post from Gregaman Community Manager from Capcom Unity on Devilmaycry.org seems to suggest there will be more content than just Vergil... so get hype!
Hey guys, GregaMan here. I know info on SE is super sparse for the time being, but I hope today's announcement made every Devil May Cry fan pretty happy. 2015 is immediately the best year for stylish action in a long, long time. The spotlight is on DmC Definitive Edition for now, but we'll have lots more info on DMC4 SE a little further down the line. Sit tight and be excited.

Holy shit! DMC4: SE?! With a playable Vergil!! Fuckin' bought! :D

It's happening everyone! DMC5 is coming, and Vergil will be back yet again!

don't forget nero guys

Don't forget who?

Gregaman is awesome <3

I miss his DmC streams, I hope he makes a lot more for DmC Definitive Edition and DMC4:SE.

DmC should be playable already, right? Judging from the trailer... Is Greg here on GAF?

Fuck the haters. I'm getting DmC for the 2nd time and I'll play the shit out of it. It's the best thing to come out of Capcom in a while.

Trailer look damn good, real damn good. Looks like ninja theory listened to all the complaints and made this game a hell of a lot more DMC. Seeing that they listen to fan feedback, i'd be fine with them making DmC2 now.

Holy shit at vergil in DMC4, wonder how fucking crazy his combo potential is going to be. Thank you based itsuno

I don't think so and I made a post about it in the other thread.

The decision about the future of DMC games has already been made and it should not impinge on the sales of these games. These games are being released most likely to cover the cost of making the next big DMC game and keep the name of DMC in the mind of the general audience (ie. brand awareness).

Fans should not think of this as a test and should see it as a way to fully support future DMC games. They should also think of this as all of their feedback finally coming to fruition.

Yes DMC fans bitched a lot about DmC but all that bitching has already resulted in everyone else getting a better game because of it. I do hope that with DMC4SE also on the horizon, DMC fans don't have to feel pressured with "if I buy this game it means no more OG DMC games".

Yeah, another thing is that DmCDE is releasing much sooner. It will get the more official announcement & spotlight. They haven't even touched everything on DMC4SE yet and given it's release window, I'm inclined to think there's more than just Vergil.

Definitely. There better be a Boss Rush mode. Honestly, I'm expecting more than that as I also see it as a make up for what DMC4 wasn't when it came out.

I don't think he's on GAF, surprised he hasn't applied or anything..

So next DMC will be a DMC 5 and not DmC 2, confirmed?

Because that DmC DE trailer was all about old school Dante skin, addition of manual lock on, balancing difficulty, turbo mode etc i.e. GOING BACK TO SERIES ROOTS *faints*

So DMC 5 COMING SOON.

Ninja Theory, kindly stay the fuck away from DMC 5.

Before today I was at 49% chance of there being DMC5 in the future.

Today I feel there's a 90% chance of DMC5 in the future. There is just way too much going in that direction.

There is no reason for them to update a game that sold 3 million which came out 7 years ago unless there was something in the works. This is Capcom working hard to earn good will from fans to prep them for DMC5.

And it's fucking working.

ok, im down for DMC4, i already have just "DMC" and dont really have a desire for doubling dipping.

EDIT: finally, some character action goodness on my PS4!!!!!

5 has gotta be in production, no doubt.

I am actually now 100% convinced it's happening.

And it's fucking working.

For exactly this reason.

It's happening, 100%.

And if it isn't, I hope today's super positive feedback makes them start this shit right now.

I'm really excited for this. I'm picking this up and DmC SE without a doubt. Can't say I'm not disappointed that this wasn't a DMC5 announcement.

Hopefully lots of people buy these and they end up making DMC5....

Edit:

Does anyone think they are basing the sales on these to determine if they are making DMC5? That seems to make more sense to me, but I of course hope I'm wrong.

The question is what will you do if the Vergil Campaign for DMC5 is a preorder only bonus?

Agreed. If they had no interest in revisiting the original series they wouldn't have necro'd DMC4 7 years later after it already had franchise best sales.

That 60 fps might make replay this. I'm not an advocate of the 60fps or die mentality but in a game like this it makes all the difference.

The issue with a DMC 5 is how OP Dante is. What he does in DMC 2 and DMC 4, it just doesn't make sense afterwards that normal enemies get in his way. I think a good direction would be to have his son as the new MC, Nero again or a new character entirely. You have Dante coming on and off again durings points of the story but he would be more of a story-based character rather than gameplay. Maybe have him as an unlockable after you beat the game to play as him in the harder difficulties for some replayabilities.

The world has a lot of potential, esp for hybrid demon/human heroes.

DmC actually looks right with that original Dante skin, I might have to play this fully! And I never did get a chance to play DMC4, now I'll be able to! Awesome.

the solution is obvious
make Vergil even more OP

DMC5 is definitely in development. It's possible Neo_G is working on DMC4SE, similar to how he worked on TvC UAS, with the Dark Arisen guy working on DDOnline, with Kobayashi producing and Itsuno supervising.

It's easy to fix. DMC1s manual mentions that there were demons before Mundus. In the prologue of DMC5, just say there are demons more powerful than Mundus that were sealed away or lived in a different dimension. Their underlings and demonspawn are more powerful than Mundus'. Boom. Done.

I say borrow something from Bayonetta and start having angels and/or God start going after Dante.

From the other thread, because this is exactly how the trailer went

It's true, though... *shrugs*

As for DMC5: Not convinced. This announcement pushed Donte must Cry over Devil May Cry 4. If they really wanted fan good will, they would've pushed the SHIT out of Vergil.

DmC:DE is getting released first and I believe the community manager from Capcom Unity said they were going to give that game the spotlight first and drop details about DMC4:SE later.

I'm screaming.

I don't even like DmC
I hate it with all my heart
but if they were to keep making real Devil May Cry games I wouldn't even mind Ninja Theory doing their thing.
Their horrible stupid thing

EVEN BETTER
DMC5 takes place in the world of Bayonetta
Jeane and Vergil Team up
Dante and Bayonetta team up
Nero and Rodin team up
itll be super hype

A Bayo x DMC crossover would probably be too amazing to comprehend.

Also you might wanna look into changing that avatar.

So.... DmC and Devil May Cry 4, remastered, for ps4, on one disc?

I'm interested.

Gonna need a lower price point though. I could pick up both of these games on Steam sale for $15 combined and play it on Ultra.

That requires getting Kamiya and Sega on board. Neither of which will happen if Capcom is so cash-strapped that they need Sony to make Street 5.

That's how I saw it. DDOnline being done by DA head, and DMC4SE/5 done by Itsuno or Neo_G & Itsuno.

bayonetta also seems overpowered but people enjoy the games nonetheless, either way, that can still do lots with dante by introducing enemies that challenge him, like, new layers of hell, as well as demons, while also having a still developing Nero as well

Cool! This game gets a bad rap but I like the first two missions. I played those when the game was on Plus and never went back to it. I've been craving a character action game and don't have a Wii U. This is about $32 with Best Buy's loyalty program, sounds good.

I'd be interested to play DMC4 again too, hopefully that one is a $20 or less download though.

Separate releases

And... there goes my interest.

So HD remasters for Resident Evil, DmC, and Devil May Cry 4, and an exclusivity deal with Sony on Street Fighter V for financial reasons... If it wasn't for all that Monster Hunter money I'd say Capcom is going to be the next THQ.
