Vergil teased for DMC4:SE! (Also, DmC Definitive Edition trailer)

I've been playing DMC4 on PC after years of having not played it again out of hype. I used to be pretty damn good with Dante(though probably only about 20% of the YouTube monsters at my utmost peak, and that was honestly before a lot of the crazier stuff was discovered), but I lost all of it(lucky if I'm 2% now). Got the feeling if I invest a decent amount of time into it, I can get better than my old self, though... just got to dust off the rust.

Also, you know you've been playing too much UMvC3 when you turn off your brain and try to LMH out of habit. lol

Actually, meter stuff aside, here's how you do Vergil Doppelgänger with three different Style inputs and a lot of clever use of buffering/timing:

Level 1: press O -> launch a Doppelgänger wielding Yamato that follows all of your inputs regardless of which weapon you're using

Level 2: press L1+forward+O -> launch a Doppelgänger wielding Beowulf

Level 3: press L1+back+O -> launch a Doppelgänger wielding Force Edge

And maybe Quicksilver could have some semi-OP moves like bouncing all enemies within a radius into the air and slamming all enemies within a radius to the ground (in a sort of simultaneous reference to DmC's DT and Trick Up/Down), or something.

Assuming it retains the After-Image delay control from DMC3, that could work.

That Quicksilver change really just sounds like DmCDT, though, which I'm personally not a fan of. I'd rather have the ability to freeze certain enemies.

That could be pretty great too.

And yeah, the delay control is absolutely essential to making Doppelgänger workable, IMO. I'd just love also being able to functionally be playing with two different weapons simultaneously - stuff like launchers would be extremely cool.

Wait, you haven't watched DMC3 combos in a while?

Surely you didn't miss the style switching mod?

Shit just recently got too real.

The fact that in this mod the Doppelganger style can actually mimic other style moves (in that video he showcased both clones using Real Impact) means that the combat depth of DMC3 is far, far past DMC4 actually.

Does DMC3 have a three-of-each-weapon mod too? And yeah, that shit is crazy.

Oh does it actually notify the style switch in the PS2 version of the mod? I was going to replay in PCSX2 so that'd be nice to have the notification there.

I knew there was a mod for this, but I never even tried looking into it as I just thought it would be some weird janked mechanic...

God, how wrong I was.

I should get DMC3/4 on steam, these mods are amazing.

The thing about weapon switching is that there's a point where I'd rather just have the button cycle you between full [devil arm + gun] loadouts, maybe. I dunno. It's hard to say what to do with changes like that - they'd likely be great for top-tier players because it'd allow equipping more things at once while still having them only a button press or two away, but it'd probably subtract from the design-your-own-favorite-play-style factor that works so well in DMC3/4 when you're still just figuring out what works for you as a beginner.

This is seriously the best thing ever.

And I STILL didn't test it. I get tired just imagining the amount of stuff I'll need to do to make the DMC3 PC port decent before applying this mod >_>

Next time it goes on sale on Steam though, I'm testing this shit.

Capcom pls, remaster the DMC 1~3 remaster and add that mod for DMC3.

PLSSSSS

Wait, there's a PS2 version? And it works on PCSX2?

That's news to me, oh lawd

Also, DMC3 and 4 on Steam work just fine right? It's just buy, download, apply mod?

No, it takes a bit more than that for DMC3. DMC4 is an incredible port... one of the best ports of the last gen. Everyone should own it. You just missed my giveaway where I was giving away 15 copies.

DMC3 on the other hand, requires other programs to even get a controller working properly, and there are some sound compatibility issues with certain cards that slows the game to a crawl unless you modify the in game battle music. It's a mess. But with work, you can get it functioning just fine.

It's fine, I'll totally pay for DMC =P Thanks for the giveaway though.

Anyway, I'll look up some guides on how to play DMC3, my PS2 has no condition of playing it and emulation on my laptop is pretty bad, so I'll have to get the Steam version. Thanks for the warning.

Why was Dahbomb demoted?
The guy who previously called the DMC4SE/DmC OT without consulting these threads first called the mods after I called the DMC4SE OT.

This is after he had redacted his statement on the OT saying he didn't want to work on the OTs anymore. Instead of dealing with it on these threads or PMs he goes to a mod to get me demoted.

Now he's claiming that I didn't want to collaborate when anyone who knows anything about me, that's all I have been doing for 7 years on this forum when related to DMC.

lol, wtf. Even if true, why does that warrant a demotion?

They don't want me making any OTs any time soon because of this whole drama. Apparently they thought I wanted the OT all to myself and was not open to collaboration which is not true at all. Even for DMC4 I collaborated with a bunch of people to make the OT for the people.

DMC drama!

What an extraordinarily heavy-handed response without taking in context.
And it's not like you can negotiate, the rules are pretty clear in the OT thread that mods don't resolve OT disputes so you can't PM a mod. :/

In this case a mod did in fact resolve a dispute... I am not allowed to make the OT anymore.

I've been a Junior for most of my life now. Let me tell you, kid, this life ain't worth living. I'll pray for your soul.

No one can forcibly TAKE an OT away from anyone. The fact that he felt pressured is irrelevant. He can either say "yes" or "no."

Mods can presumably see PMs to see if there was a willingness to collaborate on the OP.

This is such bullshit, sorry man.

It's not worth going to a mod over this now because I run the risk of just getting perma banned.

All this happened because of the previous trollish DmC OT that I wanted to AVOID this time around. Guy was afraid that the DMC community would try to pull that again and not provide a balanced OT but that was 100% not the case. Now the whole community is being put on blast because of this which is the worst part of it all.

That gif rustled my feathers. I'm aware of exactly how much I suck compared to these guys, like at my best, probably Pac Man looking graph at ny very best, which was a decade ago.

Maybe I'm being naive but if you can put together enough evidence to show that you were being cooperative and what not, and are polite about it, I don't think Bish or a higher up mod would nuke you for it.

When is your juniorship up again or is it a permanent thing?

This was my exact PM to him:

I know you just called both DmC and DMC4SE OTs but is it possible to negotiate on it? I would very much like to do the DMC4SE OT.

The wording here is a bit weird, I used "negotiate" instead of "collaborate" but I really meant that I was willing to help on the OT, not steal it from him. I felt I was polite in my request, I didn't feel I was pressuring him into doing anything.

This was sent 1 day BEFORE he redacted his statement. I waited 2 days for his response, he did not PM back I just assumed he was not interested in making the OT any more so I booked the OT to avoid this in the future. Today I wake up, guy makes a post how he is not happy and he has contacted mods (again without PMing me). He not only didn't PM me, he didn't make a post in the gaming side about it (I am sorry I don't visit Community as much). Today someone had to point out to me that I was demoted.

I thought the rules were to work this out among people who wanted to do the OT and not involve the mods? Instead guy was not willing to talk about it, complained about it, then talked crap about the community and got a mod involved.

But you can go back to being a member before the game comes out, right?

Isn't it 3 months and 300 posts?

Also, goddamn, you're making the DMC4SE OT, not the DmC OT. ffs.
