Kinda, but Korra didn't really defeat Zaheer. She spent a good 2/3rds of it being helpess or just randomly flinging around earth and fire while in Avatar beast mode.

What I liked most about that fight was that to me it seemed like an inverted version of the fight between aang and ozai.

I sat on it for a night and I think I'm actually kind of mad at that ending. I'm glad Korrasami happened, but that conversation with Tenzin would have literally been the perfect point to end the show, thematically.

Yeah, this is the 3rd time they have had hamfisted romance shoehorned in awkwardly. It's basically an execution problem... they don't have the writing chops to do it right. If you interpret Korra and Asami's relationship as romantic (kinda hard not to), it's the best they've done as far as not just jumping the 'I love' gun a bit. For a while, I thought people were reading into it a bit too much, but then I remembered the blush Korra did earlier in the season.

Pretty badass if Bryke did push it in behind Nick's back.
That makes it even worse if it is because then it's "I wrote this really good ending to my show, but how about I say 'fuck you' to Nick instead."

I don't think Makorra was hamfisted it's something they were obviously building towards and they thought they only had one season at the time so they went for it instead of going TLA route, I respected that they went for it instead of dancing around it forever. This was different though, I knew it was going to happen the moment they showed the wedding and I was fully prepard for it really really happening, but I never would have guessed they were going to end the show there like Korra's persuasion suddenly takes precedent over the arcs and themes of the show. It's disrespectful to the material.

Actually I have one super important issue with the finale and the series as a whole. We never got one single canon shot of Korra's exposed midriff. This is a big deal.

We saw Bolin's midriff

Not bad...I don't think the show reached the true potential it could have just due to the things things they handled in the past and the rough pacing of this season.

I think the thing that is really sad about Korra ending is the simple fact that this was the last big western action cartoon. Looking at it in that scope, it's even more sad that the landscape of shows like this is basically over.

Well they handled romance better than the Arrow/Flash writers so they have hat going for them I guess. Fuck Olicity.

Asami dated Mako. Who then left her for Korra. When then left her for Asami again. Who then left her for Korra. Then they broke up and Asami and Korra suddenly become lesbians/bi and hook up.

Are there no other eligible people outside the group? Or is Team Avatar just a massive hookup zone? Especially since Mako didn't find anyone else, so those three have only ever been seen dating each other the only possible adjective to describe it is incestuous. Is that really the team dynamic that they wanted to portray? Or is it just a result of crappy writing?

As much as I'm glad Korrasami happened from the fanservice perspective, I'm totally with you here. I find it a little hard to believe even looking at it statistically that Korra and Asami would both turn out to be bi or closeted especially since not even the slightest hint in that direction exists in the first two seasons.
But still it's cute and the writing in this show is dumb anyway so whatevaa

I would say S3 was the all around best one of korra for me and the only one that felt like it could of been part of ATLA other then season 1 before the end.

But yea, Earth/Book 2 of ATLA is the season best overall

The only thing I wished for was seeing Zuko a final time.

My favourite Avatar character.

Yeah we only saw his daughter for a second when she was meeting with Raiko, and we saw Admiral Iroh/Dante Brasco for about 3 lines before the surrender made everyone forget about him

Hahaha what a bad episode. I wasn't expecting much still the show disappointed me. Jokes were bad fight were bad . closures were bad. and most disappointing was the music during fight was just bad.

Very bad ending for an OK show.

Whelp time to re watch some things to fill the hole. Probably go on a cartoon nostalgia trip. I think I'll start with Oban Star Racers since it also has an Avatar...and lesbians.

I woke up today and I realized that, unlike with AtLA when it ended, I'm perfectly ok with Korra being over. Maybe it's something about having watched so much anime since AtLA ended and now being used to shows ending, but it doesn't sting like before. And I never cared for Korra as much as AtLA if i had to be completely honest.

The ending is so unsatisfying. They just go into the sunset, and the solution for the Earth kingdom is utter crap. It's like the whole history of the Earth kingdom meant nothing.

Disappointed we got no Bolin and Opal in the finale. As in after the fights and shit. Also no real explanation for what Mako does next, guess he just goes back to being a cop.

Disappointed we got no Bolin and Opal in the finale.

Yeah I'm a bit disappointed here, but I guess the implication is that they're back together and better than ever. The only two scenes we got of the two together were Bolin running to passed out Opal and holding her, and her dragging him to the dance floor during the wedding.

I guess it has to do with Opal not having a single spoken line in the entire finale lol.

Imagine what could have been if Nick didn't slash their budgets. They probably would have had a voiced Kai and Opal. No doubt they didn't have any lines because there wasn't any money for it.

Yeah, that was weird. People being mute all finale stuck out big time.

The budget cuts became really obvious in the back half of the season.

Urghh...guess that's it then. I feel like the show peaked mid-season 1, falter in the season 1 finale and never recovers.

Good riddance.

Pretty much this. Though I do feel like Book 3 came pretty close to matching the pre-finale Book 1 episodes. It's action scenes were also out. of. this. fuck. ing. world (Book 1 still had the stronger visuals overall though).

Or you know...not write themselves into a corner. If there is one thing you should never be when on a budget...its ambitious.

The day my friends and I only had 20 dollars between all of us to eat something (6 of us), we went to go buy a crapload of shit to make home made Mac N Cheese and this was the mac n cheese that would make the fucking gods weep with its deliciousness. Legends are still told of its taste and creamy queso texture.

It was the right thing to do, after all the poor Asami suffered through the series, his father working with terrorists , then trying to kill her, her losing the family company, her boyfriend dumping her when she has no money, being relegated to a backdrop character, forgive his father only for him to be killed , she deserved some happiness, if it was not for that she would had to watch as Mako and Korra get together again.

Addendum: This only applies to works of media. Your story reminds me of the time I made "super ramen". Using all sorts of cheap stuff and Top Ramen, I created a feast for 10 for 20 bucks. It was great.

It's been 9 hours and a nap later. I still am extremely happy about Korrasami being real.
help

Just imagine the adventures of Asami and Korra!

I actually think that was a sweet ending, and Asami found some happiness after losing her father, boyfriend and company at one point, it was the right thing to do.

As far as main plot resolution I liked it more than AtLA's series finale, but it didn't have anything like the Zuko vs Azula fight, so it wasn't as good.
