Wasn't Book 3's finale the same way?
From what I understand the final bit wasn't in the storyboard for the episode and was added last minute. Nick might not have had to chance to axe it, assuming that they'd want to.
Pretty badass if Bryke did push it in behind Nick's back.
Kinda, but Korra didn't really defeat Zaheer. She spent a good 2/3rds of it being helpess or just randomly flinging around earth and fire while in Avatar beast mode.
I sat on it for a night and I think I'm actually kind of mad at that ending. I'm glad Korrasami happened, but that conversation with Tenzin would have literally been the perfect point to end the show, thematically.
That makes it even worse if it is because then it's "I wrote this really good ending to my show, but how about I say 'fuck you' to Nick instead."Pretty badass if Bryke did push it in behind Nick's back.
I don't think Makorra was hamfisted it's something they were obviously building towards and they thought they only had one season at the time so they went for it instead of going TLA route, I respected that they went for it instead of dancing around it forever. This was different though, I knew it was going to happen the moment they showed the wedding and I was fully prepard for it really really happening, but I never would have guessed they were going to end the show there like Korra's persuasion suddenly takes precedent over the arcs and themes of the show. It's disrespectful to the material.Yeah, this is the 3rd time they have had hamfisted romance shoehorned in awkwardly. It's basically an execution problem... they don't have the writing chops to do it right. If you interpret Korra and Asami's relationship as romantic (kinda hard not to), it's the best they've done as far as not just jumping the 'I love' gun a bit. For a while, I thought people were reading into it a bit too much, but then I remembered the blush Korra did earlier in the season.
Actually I have one super important issue with the finale and the series as a whole. We never got one single canon shot of Korra's exposed midriff. This is a big deal.
Well they handled romance better than the Arrow/Flash writers so they have hat going for them I guess. Fuck Olicity.Yeah, this is the 3rd time they have had hamfisted romance shoehorned in awkwardly. Asami dated Mako. Who then left her for Korra. When then left her for Asami again. Who then left her for Korra. Then they broke up and Asami and Korra suddenly become lesbians/bi and hook up.
Are there no other eligible people outside the group? Or is Team Avatar just a massive hookup zone? Especially since Mako didn't find anyone else, so those three have only ever been seen dating each other the only possible adjective to describe it is incestuous. Is that really the team dynamic that they wanted to portray? Or is it just a result of crappy writing?
Controversial opinion:
Best finale, best season.
The only thing I wished for was seeing Zuko a final time.
My favourite Avatar character.
so me and hamlet arent going to get lashed?
Better than the finale for season 3 of Korra or season 3 or 2 of the original? Nah son, nah.
It really just now hit me that this is over.

Hm so apparently according to the storyboarder, Will Ruzicka, the holding hands and looking at each other with Asami and Korra wasn't in the animatic for the finale.
How so? The world has changed. It's time for the other nations to do so as well. The ending is so unsatisfying. They just go into the sunset, and the solution for the Earth kingdom is utter crap. It's like the whole history of the Earth kingdom meant nothing.
Disappointed we got no Bolin and Opal in the finale.
Imagine what could have been if Nick didn't slash their budgets. They probably would have had a voiced Kai and Opal. No doubt they didn't have any lines because there wasn't any money for it.
Urghh...guess that's it then. I feel like the show peaked mid-season 1, falter in the season 1 finale and never recovers.
Good riddance.
Or you know...not write themselves into a corner. If there is one thing you should never be when on a budget...its ambitious.
Yet it still ended up great. Despite some issues, I'd rank it the second best Book after 3.Or you know...not write themselves into a corner. If there is one thing you should never be when on a budget...its ambitious.

The day my friends and I only had 20 dollars between all of us to eat something (6 of us), we went to go buy a crapload of shit to make home made Mac N Cheese and this was the mac n cheese that would make the fucking gods weep with its deliciousness. Legends are still told of its taste and creamy queso texture.
Well it could have been worse.
It's not legit without a Biogamergirl quote.Critics are raving over the Korra series finale
