The original camera was too close to the characters, and too focused toward the ground. The new camera mode pulls it out and moves it up, also steadies it for a lot of horizontal movement.

Yepp. I don't give Square Enix a lot of credit but they should have learned something from the prior reaction to their bull shots

The game isn't 2 years away, at most it's a little over a year away from release (March 2016 or something). They have to really push it out fast & release this ASAP to free up resources for other games so that they don't completely miss this console generation as badly as the last one.

Towns are seamless, but not everything is at the moment. It's their goal to make everything seamless in the end.
