LIZARD SQUAD is Back. Planning XBL Attack. "Biggest attack yet". [UP: XBL/PSN Down]

The Nintendo Ninjas would show up at peoples door, no lie. Remember when Pokemon X got sold early in Europe, they went to everyones house to confiscate the game, and tracked every sold unit down by any means necessary (including IPing a kid who was tweeting/leaking pictures of the game).

One thing about DDoS. Can't they narrow down the location of the attacks and systematically block the IPs doing the attacking? Or implement a queue system where if a certain bandwidth limit is hit there can not be anything that pushes the servers into overload and instead once one leaves a new one can come in.

Would be inconvenient but Atleast it would allow people to connect

Hope it comes back soon this is so annoying on days off like this I usually chill and play games online with my family and now we can't play together ugh.

Thanks to Lizard Squad I stumbled upon the Drama Alert thing on YouTube. How does such cringe-worthy content get popular on YouTube?

Who knows, the commentator, DJ Keemstar, ive been a fan of his for 5 years or so but he kinda stumbled into Drama Alert to. He started making updates and people were demanding more and more, and hes making it now by releasing content mostly about CoD players lives. He has jumped on this Lizard Squad story for obvious reasons (big story with a ton of attention).

That sounds insane, and not in the good way.

UK X1 here; been online for a while, even made it onto Destiny.

Took a few attempts to sign in, and parties were hit and miss, but I could play online, see friends and the store etc.

Bed soon, and hopefully we all have a great Boxing Day, with new consoles galore working fine! For US GAF, hopefully you guys have a decent evening when it comes to XBL/PSN.

I'm not a pro, but isn't that basically what they do?
It's just that when 99% of the requests come from the DDoSer/his botnets, the "normal" people get the same result: impossible to connect.

Banning an IP, considering infected PCs/IPs are used, could ban normal users. Cn't they change their IP anyway?

I remember this garbage happened last year without the help of lizard squad. If it is anything, it is just sony showing its incompetency. I was frustrated that I couldnt get online for 24 hours + on christmas which was baffling last year and now that I finally get PSN + this year, it feels like an instant waste

lizard squad has a hard on for nintendo, so no ddosing them. They are basically a bunch of juveniles that buy into the whole "console war"

XBL working fine on my end, FWIW. Currently watching Psych in Cincinnati.

Anonymous got involved in this whole Finest Squad and Lizard Squad mess?

Sorta? The problem with Anonymous is that they really are, well, anonymous, even to each other. So basically anyone can claim to be a part of the organization (such that it is), and it's just as credible as anything else.

And who's fault is that friend?
Live users and PSN'ers were in the same boat all day today.

I was able to get into Xbox live after a few hours to download the new DLC for Forza Horizon 2 and Dragon Age: Inquisition. I've not bothered with my PS4 as I'm monitoring the website and it is non-responsive. Google Play was working fine though!

I doubt its even Lizard squad, just the usual influx of everyman and his dog with a new console trying to get online at the same time.
I bet they are Microsoft funded. They claim they will target Live, but actually target PSN instead. MS comes out looking stronger for holding up to attacks, while Sony looks bad for going down for no reason.

Kidding?

Well if anything this got me to finally watch the rather excellent Robert Redford flick All Is Lost so at least something good came from it for me.

I would like to extend a big fuck you to whomever is responsible. That's all. As gifts I got driveclub and COD:AW on ps4.........so much for playing them. I don't want to launch DC without the patch.......nor play any single player COD.

Now I don't feel like I'm missing anything since I'm not at my PS3 today. But yeah people need better hobbies than organizing DDoS on game servers. Even if it is for the lulz

Mecha-reggie is behind this

The fact that no government agencies have any sort of technology to find where these kids are in unreal, you can get away with murder basically over the Internet, and Twitter will keep your accounts active. No one went to Twitter like 'hey.... This is bad news, whenever they pop up you have to deactivate the accounts'

I don't understand the lack of urgency

Oh they have the technology to find them; but having the NSA for example using its resources to track down the "Lizard Squad" probably isn't going to happen, sadly. I would love for that to happen though.
