LIZARD SQUAD is Back. Planning XBL Attack. "Biggest attack yet". [UP: XBL/PSN Down]

what is really weird is that i was able to download inFAMOUS: Second Son last night while PSN was down, so that at least was something.... :-P

in your face, LizardSquadDicks

was able to get on destiny but got disconnected once, no one is really on, but some of my friends are playing stuff.

PSN store i accessed once then I couldnt get it to come up again.

well I can at least begin the process to get on PSN on the PS4 in NYC. It asks me for more info and to set my privacy settings but after I do and set to register it says error cannot reach server

Update: Ok its finally up!

Does farcry 4 have some kind of accidental DRM?
Trying to launch it on ps4 but keeps getting stuck on the "logging in" screen when it's trying to get onto uplay. There is no option to skip this.
So yeah, can't play it.

Edit- Never mind, I'm in, just had to wait about 10 mins.

It should time out eventually and work fine. You don't need to log into UPlay to actually play. Temporarily disconnect network until it gets past that screen.

So strange, people were reporting the same for Dragon Age, but I have played both Inquisition and Far Cry 4 since PSN has been done and have had no issues playing offline.

I believe a fix for this is to go into your ps4 settings, network and turn off 'connect to the internet' to make it fully offline.

Edit: double ninja'd

PS4 seems all good in San Francisco for me right now. Webstore is still down though, so I can't redeem this '4 games 1 code' voucher yet for the freebie game.

I was able to log into Xbox Live but it's still majorly gimped. Almost nothing will load (Netflix, Messaging, Achievements, Hbo Go), however. May as well still be down.

All annoyances aside, it really shouldn't be this easy to take down a billion dollar companies' entertainment service for nearly 24 hours. Things need to change, there's no excuse for it to be allowed to happen ever again, literally.

Since a DDOS attack abuses the way the internet works for the last decades ,unless there is a complete worldwide overhaul of howthe internet is set up and works this will keep happening.
This is not something that just one company can fix.

Yes there are ways for company's to protect themselves from aDDOS attack and i am sure MS has it atleast ,but those methods are A, expensive and B. can be bypassed .

ok I know this is unrelated but this is my first look through of the playstation store and my god playstation now is some bullshit with this 90 day rental crap.....

So..is it safe to turn my ps4 off now that I've logged in?

Don't risk it man. You better damn well keep hoggin that spot on the servers

Ok, now when I try to sign in I get "Could not connect to servers" after only 5 seconds instead of the previous 15. Does that mean it's getting better?

Exactly. Which is why I don't get that LizardSquad is saying they are doing it "to expose the lack of security", when all they are doing is exploiting the oldest flaw of the internet and just throwing traffic at the service. That has nothing to do with exposing a security risk to the service or even sensitive customer information for that matter.
