Well they're clearly getting shit since Kim said the accounts would be terminated if the attacks don't stop.

just got home for xmas partyy
xb11 still down??
furk man wtf
You could pre-download the update for him from PC and put it on USB. Here's how to do it: http://support.xbox.com/xbox-one/system/offline-system-update-diagnostic-toolThat being said, anyone else try setting up their XB1 today? Was it impossible due to the day one update? His current internet is terrible so it'll take a while. Have things gotten any better? He'll be getting his tomorrow morning![]()
I got my little brothers console to work after 5 hours of trying to get the day one update to work. He still can't import his gamer tag info yet. He went to bed so I stopped trying. By the sound of things on GAF it should be better tomorrow! My younger cousin has been promised an XB1 and came out with 0 gifts at all last christmas and his last b-day. He's finally getting an XB1 tomorrow! Exciting. Finally he'll have people to play Destiny. Poor child just plays crucible all day by himself on 360.

No, because I actually understand how a ddos works. It's the equivalent of being annoyed at the architects of your two car garage for not being able to suddenly accommodate 1,000 cars one afternoon because an asshole at work cc'd an email to everyone about your party just to be a dick...
It's not a matter of just "spinning up" millions of more blades to handle dummy logins.
Poor BBC reporters, no original Xbox online fun for them

I'm starting to find this whole thing comical and almost (ALMOST, not quite) siding with Lizardtards just for the sake of getting people to unplug from their gaming for a day.
Is there really nothing else people can occupy their time with? I play videogames 30 hours a week most weeks because I'm on graveyard shift and stay awake all night on my nights off, but even with that inordinate amount of gaming I'm quite confident I could read a book, stay an hour longer at the gym, rustle up some awesome apple cider vinegar chili, watch some netflix, or maybe even play my games offline.
And that's just stuff I can do from midnight to 8am when the rest of the city is mostly asleep. Think of all the stuff I could do during the day?
I could see some kid getting an XB1 or PS4 for christmas and being upset, but at least PS4 lets you play games offline out of the box does it not? Does XB1 still suffer the mandatory day one update to play offline or is that being included in the system OS now?
Just saying, all this hulllabaloo about online gaming being down for a day or two is very out of hand. Come on folks, there's a whole wide world out there!
For some people, this is their only time off. Or they don't have family. Or they need a break from family. Or, hell, and this one will blow your mind, some people live in different time zones and are actually done with Christmas.
They can play offline, but some games need patches, or just the capability to play online might make games like Destiny work.
You are right. This world is vast, and there's no need to apply a one-size-fits-all mentality to others.

I'm not applying a one-size fits all mentality to anyone. I'm saying that there's a million things to do in the world and online gaming is only one of them. Only a select few console games are online-only like Destiny, so if people REALLY must game, they can play one of the others offline.
Also, I never mentioned Christmas, so I don't know how Christmas being 'done' is supposed to blow my mind.
It's just silly that so many people are getting so worked up over this triviality of not being able to play online. It's a bit absurd.
#firstworldproblems I guess

Yes because that's the solution Neville Chamberlain.
Giving in to assholes is always the way to fix a problem.
No need to lord over and say "well, you have books"
Won't Kim & MEGA know where the vouchers were redeemed & they will also know where the 'stuff' Lizard Squad upload to their MEGA accounts is uploaded from, thus able to find them & expose them?

No, because lizard squad wouldnt be using the mega accounts themselves - they would be selling them.
What the hell it's still down!?
Christ how much longer is this going to go on for? Hopefully it's not that infamous PSN hack a few years ago.

No online, that's fine. I ran through Another World (20th Anniversary) to take out another game from the backlog.
Amazing game that still holds up for me.

It's presumptuous to assume that everyone (or even a majority) wanting to play video games on a day on which almost everything is closed and almost everyone has the day off spend all of their leisure time otherwise playing video games. Could it not be the case that people spend ample time reading, working out, etc... and simply wanted this particular time to play some video games?
And yes, there is a whole wide world out there. And video games are part of it.
I just got Dragon Age (which I can't play without an internet connection or w/o PSN being up, thanks EA) so I'm hoping this isn't going to be as severe as the 2011 incident.
On the bright side, I caught up on some shows today.
