PSN connection problems (12/24)

Welp... there goes my holiday weekend now that I can finally start to enjoy it for the next 3 days.

LizardSquad confirmed to be Valve...PC gaming unaffected. Gaben da lizard goon king.

I agree. When Internet or Cable is not working, Time Warner prorates the total time services were not working and credits a customers account. This is what Sony will have to do at some point if they continue having these types of network problems.

I didn't wanted a physical game thinking a digital one would be cheaper and it was, almost half price and look what I get?

I cant get the fucking game to download because of this shit.

Never had any problems with PSN while using PS3. It was free back then. Now we have to pay 50 e per year, we get shitty indie games and we get no PSN whole the time. They have maintenence almost every week for God's sake!!!

No we never had problems with psn on ps3... never... not once *rolls eyes*
 
Have you guys had any actual console issues? I tried loading a (disc) game, Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, but it keeps freezing at the splash screen now. I tried deleting the data and installing it again, but no dice. Couldn't get Samurai Warriors 4 to load either.

I'm wondering if something broke in my PS4 or if the sporadic PSN issues might be causing this?

I just wanna be able to play Diablo 3 with my brother since I got him a PS4 on Christmas for this very reason, but we haven't been able to play yet :(

Thats because it tries to get online. You just need to set your ps4 to offline and it will work.

I had a problem trying to boot up Dragon Age and decided not to turn on my PS4 until the network is fixed.

Last time I had an issue like this I had to restore licenses and deal with various settings so I rather wait and not have a potential headache.

Not sure if related, but I can't get past the splash screen of my digital Alien: Isolation. Tried Injustice from PS+, got past press any button then stuck at loading.
 
You would think Sony would have learned to be more upfront about this considering how often it has happened in the past, especially that major long downtime a couple of years ago. It's kinda infuriating that they just completely ignore it when it happens especially in a major time like the holidays without updates on the situation. I know they're probably trying to deal with it in the background, but even a simple status post every day/so often reassuring people would go a long way.

Thanks. Tried offline mode and the games work fine. Wish PSN was up, I just wanted to upload my WO3U save to use with the vita version :/
 
It seems to me that PSN is down completely now, as it won't even try to log me in anymore and the PS app doesn't work anymore.
Maybe Sony is hard rebooting the servers?
 
Never had this problem on pete sampras tennis on the mega drive...........4 players....1 cartridge......albeit had to blow the dust off the bottom of the cartridge upon occasion

have you tried unchecking connect to internet in the network settings? its been working for most ppl with dragon age
 
This and any future DDoS attacks on major consumer the sites is building the arguments for a new centrally or corporately controlled net. Keep that in mind.

They should hire Kevin Spacey. He plays a politician who games on a show that is only available through a web-based streaming service. It's perfect.
 
what the hell? was up this morning playing without issue, everything seemed fixed...turned it off for lunch and a nap...decided to jump back on and PSN is down again? ugh....
 
Sony need to do something so this is prevented in the future, as it's just going to keep happening by the look of things.

Still no PSN in the UK, but I can still download patches. I just popped The Last of Us in and it's downloading now. Could be worse!

I also feel bad for developers and publishers during this. This is prime time for new consoles owners to browse the PSN store and try and buy stuff.

Free to play devs must be feeling it the most.
 
I'm surprised it's still down.

Really all I want to do is buy Ground Zeroes for PS4. I'm not that bothered about the outage otherwise. I have access to the store on my Vita but I don't think I can even see PS4 games to buy on it.

Yup exact same deal here, Excluding the game. So no point in firing up the ps4 I guess, Too bad was looking forward to some dragon age. Xbox live is fine? guess i could putt around GTA online instead.
 
Oh this is awesome- finally was able to login to FF14, and halfway thru a dungeon run the PS4 says "cannot verify license. application will close in 5 minutes."

and boots me to the dashboard right when we get to the last boss fight, after 30 minutes of going thru the dungeon.

FUCK.THIS.
