LIZARD SQUAD is Back. Planning XBL Attack. "Biggest attack yet". [UP: XBL/PSN Down]

For Sony yes, not for these calm gamers acting like this whole fiasco is about them.

This is about Sony and not protecting their now paying customers.

Not to mention after the whole NK fiasco Sony has been a target to go after, MS getting it to because they swear they all that in this field.

Please feel free to tell me what Sony could do to prevent it? You clearly know something nobody else in the world does. Also since when were customers at risk here? DDoS isn't the same as hacking.

Anyone else having trouble playing Digital Titles on Xbox One? I was playing The Master Chief Collection just fine, then in the middle of a Matchmaking search it froze. I pressed the Nexus button and went back to TMCC and resumed fine only it wouldn't find a match. I quit out now it says I need to connect to Xbox Live even though I am (when I try launching TMCC). I rebooted the Xbox One and it still says the same thing. There is a Service Alert for Purchase and Content Usage, I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I see that as Truth not trollin, those hackers are trollin. What has Sony done to protect you?

How about this, many dont know why actually put their credit cards on these consoles...they probably concerned after seeing cnn and mainstream media Blabbing about this being a Hack, even though it isnt to those that are following this.

Starting to get embarrassing.

I'm only trying to explain the situation. Yes, in a perfect world, Sony could throw money at the problem and make it dissapear. You think you're the first person to come into this thread in the last three days and say that Sony should just "fix it"? You think your'e the only one affected by this, and angry and upset?

Your indignance does not give you the right to ignore people trying to help you understand, or be abusive to those who are trying to explain.

There have been the same four questions posted in this thread hundreds of times, and answered hundreds of times. Don't treat people in here like your personal butler you can just snap your fingers at and say "make it allright".

Wut? Where did I treat anyone in here like my butler? I understand its not a simple fix, what's the harm in suggesting they try preventing it? Jeez people be tetchy up in here.

We're in this shit together.

Forget it man, he does this all the time.

The DDoS traces on sites like Norse.

Looks funny.

It ain't a hack fact!

Buddy you are trolling a thread full of pissed off people.

Why don't you just fuck off?

just fyi, this is super fake, you can check the ip in the hosts file (94.102.60.171), its on the ecatel NL network which is notoriously famous for hosting malware, the same network a lot of these guys use to ddos since ecatel doesn't enforce BCP 38 (ingress filtering).

also the host file was generated by solusvm (a openvz/kvm vps control panel used by a lot of amateur hosting providers that costs $10) which i highly doubt sony would use lol... and to top it all off the server runs zPanel which is highly vulnerable and easily exploitable (many public unpatched CVEs)

Well your avatar does help what a bunch of idiots. Look at our haxxor stuff where masters! lmao.

MS and Sony should just put up a large reward for those correctly identifying and leading to the arrest of the people responsible. Inside of a couple of days, someone will flip on their buddies for immunity/reduced charges/cash.

Lol you guys trying to get in my face because I suggested they find a way to prevent this, don't start your beef with me. I expect what I pay for to work and want them to prevent this in the future, guess I'm the dick.
So when your car runs out of gas you complain to the manufacturer? Instead of pointing fingers at Sony, why don't you study up on Distributed Denial of Service.

This is so good. You're not even trying to hide it.

We're seeing wide-spread reports of both PSN and XBL being problematic again, even though there is nobody claiming to be DDoSing either service. It might just be Microsoft doing maintenance in case another attack comes in, or it could be a DDoS attack we're not aware of. It's hard to tell right now.

Do a hard reset. Fixed my problem.

I has nothin to do with Money...holy crap people....Live is down again now too, these are nearly impossible to defend against. Some responses in this thread are down right embarassing......It's how the internet works.....sony cannot do anything about it.

Oh there Is something they can do. Reduce cost of their service that is evidently defenseless against such easily occurring downtime. Time to re-evaluate what we pay for.

Or how about they catch these assholes, cause im taking a wild guess and not sensing much is being done in their pursuit, since this is serving the interests of the corporations that cant wait to lock up the internet. Enrage the gamer crowd and the next SOPA is gonna get passed. I am just not sensing a serious effort to remove these hackers. I mean they have been allowed to actively advertise on twitter for months now. Twitter is probably in on the whole fucking thing.

Yeah because re writing how the internet functions at a base level is strictly a Sony problem right?

I think what he's saying is that if you're a company whose business, among other things, is online games, streaming movies etc... then you better find a way to make it work or the consumers will go elsewhere.

In that respect, yeah it is strictly Sony's problem after all

Maybe you should be out spreading the word to those that are misinformed, not on here where pretty well everyone knows it's not a hack situation.

All the unnecessary hostility over something we can't control wont do any good.
We're all in the same boat so all we can do is just wait it out.

Sony is doing what they can to fix the issue and that is all we can ask for at this point in time.
I do wonder though what protective measures will corporations will do now due to these security issues over the past month.

This situation is not really a hack but it's still an issue.

Lol you guys trying to get in my face because I suggested they find a way to prevent this, don't start your beef with me. I expect what I pay for to work and want them to prevent this in the future, guess I'm the dick.
What would you suggest in specific what they can do to prevent this?

How do you make it work in the face of a ddos attack?

You need to make the console or primary console next time youre able to go online.

because you didnt set the console up at your primary console.
you have to go to settings and set as my home xbox so i can play games offline

three months ago I would have told you the internet should not be regulated and ISPs should not tier their connections and limit what we can do with it. After today, I feel like we as a free market ruined the beauty of the internet and now it HAS to be regulated by the government just so we can use it.

No.

Just fucking no.

You do know that a DDoS is not a hack right? It is actually flooding the server with bogus packets and Microsoft was hacked also. XBL is experiencing problems as we speak. Where is Bish?

Wut? Where did I treat anyone in here like my butler? I understand its not a simple fix, what's the harm in suggesting they try preventing it? Jeez people be tetchy up in here.

*cough*

How the hell are Lizard Squad not banned from Twitter yet? Twitter are allowing them to promote and brag about this shit with no repercussions.

MS and Sony need to prevent this from happening again as its pretty out of order now. I don't pay for this shit to be down on major holidays.

Yes. People sure are.

?? Protect us from what?? What has MS done , why do you only mention sony, as live is also down again now?? There is nothign to protect us from, wha knowledge of sonys infrastructure so you have to make this claim?

What have any of them done, Sony is the one with that Geoass hack stigma. Also the media is all into Sony hack crap due to NK movie, its all not related but clearly Sony is getting it on many levels of this mess.

I don't even know where to start anymore, so I'm just going to do this in the most simplest way.

1. It is almost impossible to catch them.
2. Making the service free wouldn't change anything. DDoS would still take it out. It'd be free, but unusable.
3. Dat Tin Foil Hat Conspiracy Theory, wow.

Yeah that was aimed at no one, now people are quoting and directly giving me shit for no reason lol

You come in here, scream at nobody in particular, and then wonder why you're not being indulged and treated with kid gloves? I don't even. Anyway, this is going in circles. Yes, this shit sucks, yes, things are broken, yes, Sony and MS might even compensate people for all this crap. Yes, some people are using the internet to make other people unhappy. I wish I could send free warm cookies to everyone in this thread who is upset - but I can't. Best I can do is try to respond and explain a little about what's going on.

making it free would change nothing...................

ugh they did that last time.
Do people expect every time something goes wrong Sony should just give them something?
I don't think it's reasonable to give something new but they absolutely should give an additional day of service for each day that PSN doesn't work. It happens way too often for it to be a freak occurance and frankly not crediting additional PS+ days to the end of the contract is outrageous.

I can agree with this for sure. I just don't think free AAA games should be the answer whenever PSN fucks up.

Tried it before posting, didn't help. Even though I am connected to Xbox Live it keeps telling me to I need to connect to Xbox Live to play. One time it got past the intro and into the Menu before backing me out and telling me.

That is a bit of an impossibility for me. I have two Xbox One's in my house and share digital content between them.
