PSN connection problems (12/24)

PS4 still can't connect, MD (USA).

Lol this shit is ridic. Well, I'm glad I decided to wait on renewing my PSN! I wouldn't be getting use out of it

Actually, it is the lack of information that justifies ridicule.
Perhaps they don't want to report until they have all their ducks in a row?

What is worse, providing information that may or may not be correct and take a second lashing for that or just wait until the dust settles? Perhaps they are addressing the issue with more security in the wake of the attack and don't want to announce it until its up and running?

Too many variables to consider. We KNOW it was a DDOS. We do not know their response because maybe they want to get things in order. Who knows?

Being mad at Sony over what someone else did isn't the answer.

Sony have never been fast with anything to do with their networks, we will sit in the dark as usual u til its back online then get another vague post and a thanks for being patient.

Customer relations is not sonys strong point, I've been buying their consoles for enough years to have sadly accepted this pish customer service.

Statement:
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/12/27/playstation-network-update-3/#sf6590558

The video game industry has been experiencing high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. Multiple networks, including PSN, have been affected over the last 48 hours. PSN engineers are working hard to restore full network access and online gameplay as quickly as possible.

From time to time there may be disruptions in service due to surges in traffic, but our engineers will be working to restore service as quickly as possible.

If you received a PlayStation console over the holidays and have been unable to log onto the network, know that this problem is temporary and is not caused by your game console. We’ll continue to keep you posted on Twitter at @AskPlayStation and we’ll update this post once the problems subside.

Thanks again for your patience.

I've been playing it the past 2 days but can never connect to the servers. It starts for me with what is essentially a lengthy load time as it fails to connect. I would be really pissed if my trophies didn't save. Haven't been online since Christmas Morning (around 9:00 AM). Like others have said, this is unacceptable for a paid service.
Yeah I was able to play on christmas day and progressed a little bit and just got to Skyhold. I tried playing yesterday and it just stays stuck on the connecting servers menu screen. I'm gonna be pissed off too if none of the trophies saved, I really think Sony dropped the ball on this too

Fuck got on destiny this morning now can't. At least I got Xur to sell me that odd sniper rifle

Played a few hours early in the morning around 4am cst, thought this issue may have been resolved. Once again can't sign into PSN, this is just utterly pathetic now.

Yes, actually. You expected them to mention XBL and Lizard Squad by name?

I expected them to not divert and to just focus on their own problems. Sure, other networks have been affected, but right now it is just PSN that is down.

If iTunes would have been down for 4 days, Apple's CEO would have written an open letter to apologize for the continued outage.

I do not see any of that rhetoric in the post. This is no longer a DDOS issue, it is a Sony issue.

XBL is still fluctuating in it's functionality from user to user. People have also reported various secondary issues in performance from EA games, Destiny, and who knows exactly who else. Could be a result of the consoles networks issues or coincidence entirely. We, on the consumer end, don't know for sure and none of these companies are giving us specifics.
