LIZARD SQUAD is Back. Planning XBL Attack. "Biggest attack yet". [UP: XBL/PSN Down]

Great, now it's totally fucked again. I am also getting a blinking orange light in rest mode. Then I turned it back on so I could shut it down and I got 3 beeps before it finally turned off. I am not touching my PS4 until this shit is completely ironed out.

It did that to me because it was trying to sign in.

Hmm... wasn't thinking much of it, but about an hour ago I turned the PS4 on (from rest mode) and it ended up shutting down (didn't see anything on display because it was still booting up). Then I had to power back on from the console's power button and it was okay after that but I had the improper shutdown warning come up.

I hadn't had that issue since they fixed the rest mode issue on 2.0 originally... but this time, I didn't have to force it down, it had shut down on its own.

I think I am going to trade my PS4 in for an xbone before I get too invested in the platform. This was exactly what I feared when I switched over from 360.

It seems that PSN is far less resilient than XBL.

Between this and that scheduled maintenance on a national holiday, I am so fed up.

uhh, yeah.
I don't even think it was really them claiming to do things this time considering how many fake accounts there are.

pretty sure that was the real anon twitter ?

These posts are funny.

Like..you spent upwards to 400-500 dollars on a system and will now trade it back in for less because of one bad weekend.

You either don't own it, didn't have a good reason for buying it, or have a lot of money to waste.

If XBL was better for you, then why buy a PS4 at all?

i usually ignore post like that. the fact that they would spend the time to post that they are getting rid of it is just a cry for attention.

It hasn't been one bad weekend, this is not the first time PSN has gone down intended or otherwise since the PS4 launch. I trusted Sony a little too much, I had never used PSN on PS3. I came along for the ride because the xbone has much weaker hardware.

To be honest this read as either an over reaction or a bit fanboyish.. You seem to have been swayed purchasing a ps4 but your heart so to speak is still with Xbox.. And you have found a way to rationalize your way out of your purchase. It is up to you what you do as it is your money
but until this week PSN for PS4 has been fine.

What's bugging me is that on the psn app I can see friends online playing destiny on ps4

I just think it's still really spotty atm still. I haven't been able to get on all day. I am playing TEW though so it's manageable. I live about 60 miles from Chicago and I see people from Chicago are getting online right now.

I just think it's just one of those things where it's gradually coming back.

Hasn't Xbox live gone down just as much this year as PSN?

I have no idea at all - I'm nearly clueless about these things.

I just did what what jimmy5150 on the U.S. West Coast in Seattle did, only I'm about 45 minutes north of downtown Chicago in Lake County, Illinois in the midwest U.S.

I set mtu to 1437
And immediately signed in!!

Edit:Michigan - had been trying all day.

Guess what...the latter issue with the Xbone is still there. So if that was enough of a reason to pass on it before...is this enough to go back on it?

Like I said, I question your decision to buy a PS4 in the first place. If PSNs shortcomings are enough a problem to you...what did you really expect?

A better psn service once they started charging? Crazy idea

Same. I can see 18 or so people from the app (even sent one a message) but I can't do shit from the actual console. Gahh, annoying!

If I wasn't so heavily invested in the ecosystem I might have reached that point a while ago. As it is ill probably never "jump ship" but I understand the frustration. My advice is to at least wait until things are back up if you just bought it. When it works, it works. And PS+ is indeed a fantastic value. But they've really got to do better.

Still down for me. East coast. (NE) :/

Are we seriously approaching 72 hours?

Can't connect to DA:I/EA servers right now :(

Any fix for this?

The DA server thing should time out after about 5 mins of trying to connect and then you can play. Or if you go to your psn settings on ps4 and sign out it shouldn't even try to connect to them

do you think that Xbox Live was what it is today when it first launched on the og xbox?
Not even close and could probably be crippled just as easily.

Now, imagine raking in income for over 10 years from your console owners...

Sony has been doing it no where near as long, do you expect results over night???

I download faster, X1 downloads with PS3 speeds (how that role reversal happened I still don't know)
So yeah, I'm getting my moneys worth, these things are going to happen, DDoS will happen

Look, I am not trying to come off as a fanboy. I have a very busy professional life and my gaming time is limited and valuable to me. I apparently wasn't aware how deep those shortcomings were. I apologize this whole experience is very frustrating.

And guess what... PSN must have felt bad for me because it just let me in LOL

Time to crack open a beer seems like I need it.

While I wouldn't go as far as trading in my PS4 for another console, I do understand binaryrevolt's frustration. Sony needs to step it up. PSN should be better than it currently is. I mean, messages refuse to even load.
