Breakout is fun
I rather them remove the grenades , and have the intense Gun battles

Or

Limit the grenades to few as map only pick ups
Turning them into power weapons of sorts
So the game turns into like dodge ball, a rush for the grenades, and who makes a move for them

Breakout is absolutely awful. If you are gonna rip off other shooters at least go the full distance. It needs an objective goal in the gametype, full halo shields and health, and a map that is not a bunch of random bullshit geometry sticking out of the ground.

What shooter is this ripping off again?
 
Yeah, gunplay is good and the new movement abilities are fun to use. There's still a good amount of things I'd like to see changed, but it's definitely a huge improvement over Halo 4.

Im struggling to decide if it ticks the classic Halo boxes for me. I dont feel like I have had a proper BR battle with anyone and I really hate how OP and how 'light' nades are. The AR is also basically a power weapon.

For the sum of its parts though its a pretty great game, even if it doesnt tick the Halo box's I can sort of enjoy it in its own right, its a LOT better than Halo 4!
 
Either my teammates are ok to good and we win really big, or I'm matched up with beginners who have scores like 0 and 14. The matchmaking is annoying. I miss close competitive matches

Edit: Just lost a game 48-11. I had eight of my teams kills. Very frustrating
 
It's always weird to see positive impressions from Halo regulars. I specifically remember people claiming that Halo 4 was a return to form, and looked how that turned out. I'm curious to see the reception of this game two years or so from now.
 
I like that idea. Let all the terrible players who like AR starts flock to their own playlist and competent players can play proper Halo in the BR starts one.
It's not that I'm terrible, I just think it's lame how everyone starts with an easy to use pinpoint accurate gun that works at pretty much any range. Defeats the whole purpose of picking up any other gun besides stuff like the sword/rockets.

We need Halo 1 pistol starts

Actually I almost always pick up the DMR or Light rifle when I walk by it even when I already have a BR. The are dominant at long range (esp. the light rifle) which makes them worth picking up. I generally avoid autos because they not fun to use and I feel dirty when I kill people with them.

Sniper as well and I will pickup an SMG for cqc if I can't get a sword.

Yea, I just lost a game 50-30. I had 25 of the kills.

Not sure what you are trying to criticize here. You think the BR is OP, seemingly suggesting the game spawn everyone with weak weapons, and then suggest everyone start with Halo 1's OP weapon? You're contradicting yourself dude.

The weapons seem really balanced in this game so far in my modest amount of matches, which the intensely and consistently close match scores scores indicate to me, and that's the way it should be. Some matches starting with a BR, some starting with the AR and Pistol so far seems to work great, I hope 343 offers a lot of match weapon and gametype variety.

On a side note and back on topic, clearly the skill matchmaking is working well. I'm barely breaking even, and the games are still close.

I can't figure out if people are screwing my team on purpose or not, but it seems like recently I'll usually have a guy that goes 1-12 and then quits out, even if we're winning. I don't understand WTF is going on.

Seems people,love it or hate it.

I played 4-6 ,matches and I'm not a huge fan. I like slayer.

I'm with you on that one. The pacing is great and once you get the hang of it you learn how to strategically use sight lines and predict enemy routes. Folks should give it a chance to grow on them. Plus, I feel like the round based gameplay and elimination aspect of it really fosters team play, even with randoms. I look forward to seeing more interesting maps with that Forge template after the game launches.

Breakout is interesting but I just hate the grenades in that mode. I do think it'd be better if they were treated as a pickup only to fight over in the middle, you get hail mary grenades all over the place otherwise.

Well, you only spawn with one, so I typically save it for perfect scenarios, and grenades are a pick up in the center
 
It sounds like breakout brings Halo a little bit closer to counter-strike? If so, I may actually end up playing Halo MP finally.

Although, I still doubt I'll ever enjoy it nearly as much as I did CS 1.5/1.6.

It reminds me a lot of OG Gears MP. Which is still to this date the most fun I've had with a MP.
 
I need to git gudder™ in Slayer before I touch Breakout.

I jumped into the beta and the default controls had me sweating. Changed to Recon and I'm finally getting into the flow, but I still need more practice.

I'm so sick of teammates who can't finish a kill. I get a guy's shields down and he gets away even though I have, you know, OTHER PLAYERS ON MY TEAM. No one seems to ever help out on kills, it's all every man for themselves. I seem to be the only one who ever gets assists.

Plus the teammates who stand around right next to you as some guy singles you out to shoot and they don't even turn and fire at him.

edit: case in point - last game I got 11 kills and 11 assists. I was the top player. We lost by 10. Because no one was team shooting.

It's funny because this is the first Halo where I'm actually switching my weapons a lot. I even switch to the AR/Smg if I need to.

And the Br is easy to use? I mean if you're facing players who don't know how to walk and aim at the same time, sure. AR starts do not work when you are facing a competent team who gains map control. You'll just spawn and try to fight back but it'll be hard since they have all the good weapons.

I took down three people single handedly although we ended up loosing the battle as a whole. Still you can only imagine the amount of cheers you must be getting with everyone sitting behind their TVs watching you wipe out the enemy team.

After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that no, you cannot shoot and kill the bugs on Regret. You're welcome.
Also you can press A instead of Menu on the title screen. Subscribe for more pro tips.

Net code can be all kinds of fucked up. Just had my first experience getting shot through a wall and dying with the kill cam saying that I died before I did my heroic dash to cover.

Except that the AR and SMG wreck the BR up close.
And that the DMR has more range and is more accurate while firing from the hip.
And that the Light Rifle kills in fewer shots.

As it is right now the BR is the jack of trades, master of none which is perfect for a spawning weapon. I always switch my pistol for an AR or SMG if I come along one and the same goes for switching out the BR for a DMR. Honestly, if they didn't change any of the weapons right now I think BR+AR starts would work very well. Some people complain that the AR is too powerful, but I honestly feel like it's less and less of an issue the more I play.

Spot on. were this halo 2 it wouldn't be true, but in Halo 5 the BR is an excellent starting weapon. Especially paired with an AR.
