Resident Evil HD Remaster confirmed for PS3/PS4/360/XB1/PC

30fps with drops for PS4 is total bollocks, and Capcom can fuck right off for that alone, but stiffing the EU with the lack of crossbuy is just adding insult to injury.

I'll still get it, because I've wanted to replay it for a good long while, but I'll be waiting for it to go on sale for sure, maybe even for the inevitable bundle with the Zero remake on sale too.

Still, I think this is the best. And of course only japan and last gen .. I mean come on

Yeah I like that
RE2 had the best though

But as it's digital it doesn't really matter.

Bitching about 30FPS for an old-school Resident Evil is pretty laughable. Deal with it, people. Or don't buy it. But then don't bitch when Capcom leaves old-school RE in garbage and continues to pump out action shooters.

I'd love to see an over-the-shoulder camera with the control improvements. Anywho, for someone who hasn't played this, is the game worth the money?

Soundtrack and digital art book for the best game of all time made the pre purchase deal an easy choice. Looking forward to return to the mansion of George Trevor on January 20th!

Watched both of those gamespot videos

i really dont see the problem?

bloody PC gamers and there FPS scanners :p

I get it if your used to high FPS and can easily notice the difference, but for me - the average console gamer, everything is fine :)

Okay, I have a terrible secret to admit...

I have never completed Resident Evil. In fact. I never even came close to doing so. I have tried at least 3 times to play the first game, and never made it longer than 30 minutes. It was the infamous "tank" controls that I just could not get with. I own both Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2 for my Vita, and just could not get into it.

Resident Evil 4 is one of my favorite games ever. Ever.
I am currently playing and loving The Evil Within.

I almost just purchased the HD remake on the PS4, then stopped to come post here.

Should I get it? I hear they updated the controls, so I will not have to deal with the tank controls if I do not want to, but I seriously feel like that is almost like cheating.

Is it I just never gave it a fair chance originally? Or is there a chance that even though I do love RE4 and games like The Evil Within, the game is just not for me?

I realize it is only $20, so not a whole lot lost if I still cannot get with it, but hell I can pick up The Evil Within Season Pass with that $20.

30 with drops

Until that's fixed (which it won't be), I won't be buying.

Completely inexcusable that a game like this can't be locked at least at 30 frames on PS4.

I watched the framerate video from Digital Foundry, and the drops seem really random, just walking along a corridor and it falls from 30 to 23 for no reason. Just screams of an unoptimised rush-job.

Was just looking in here to make sure ps4 version was 30fps and it is :/

Is REmake really pushing the limitations of the ps4/xb1? Since pc has a 60fps option why can't ps4/xb1?

Yeah, no way Capcom will think people just aren't into retro style Resident Evil anymore if the sales for this are low, they will definitely know that people didn't buy this solely because of 30fps but otherwise love the original style of gameplay.

Ok, then I'll go ahead and give them my money for a product I'm not happy with. Sounds like a great consumer strategy.

Its not a proper "Remaster" I would say. More like a quick and cheap port kinda like RE4 on PS3/360. Some areas got facelifts which is cool but its only in certain areas. Not surprised performance is not 100% on current gen. This game is no way an indication of the "strengths" or "weaknesses" of the systems.

The PC version is the version to get.

it makes sense. The computing power of the cpu on PS4 and One is severely lacking.

PS5Two Re-remaster Re-rerelease is the only console hope apparently. Seriously am surprised it's not 60 fps on consoles.

The Save Room Theme is so relaxing but the Neptune Tank Theme is soo creepy!

Already preordered on Steam btw :D

That theme is super relaxing. All save room themes across RE's are soothing.
