Got a WII U on xmas and went and grabbed a copy of Smash Wii U last night along with a Peach Amiibo... my Target had shitloads of diddy kong, and I wonder.. is this character really popular? I don't understand how some of these production numbers seem to be inprportionate to a character's popularity...
anyways, here are the amiibos I want, because I like the characters... how fucked am I going to be?

Other than villager, there's not really any reason you'd be "fucked" on any of them as long as you properly preorder as soon as they become available. The only one you can preorder right now is toon link, I'm sure he is still available somewhere, maybe gamestop.

I ordered Rosalina and Lucario from Amazon.de. Not even gonna bother with Target.
That B&H site looks mighty tempting. For international orders. they charge when you order and on shipping when you order in U.S.
I've done Lucario through Amazon.fr, but I am getting really tempted to go that route with Rosalina as well. The only thing keep me from doing so is Target's twitter account stating that she will be open for preorders again "sometime this month."

Looks like it means "Pre-Sale Listing", meaning the item isn't readily available yet from the seller (if it's from Japan maybe Luigi isn't out there yet?).
But it doesn't mean anything special about about the actual Amiibo - it's just a regular Luigi, I think.
EDIT: Says item due for release December 2014. So I guess they just haven't updated the listing to reflect that.

I just bought it from amazon.fr instead, since you can't even buy anything on their website.
No wonder things are going bad for them since they're in Canada.
So my Marth Amiibo actually came today but the box is dented in several places (I plan on keeping them in their box). They didn't even put the thing in a box, just some cheap bubble pachage. Is it worth the hassle to ship back to the UK? Is Marth even possible to still get there?

In Europe and Japan Wave 3 is split into two parts.
The first part (AKA Wave 3a) is Ike, Sheik, Rosalina, Lucario, Toon Link and Bowser and they release this month.
Part two (AKA Wave 3b) is Meta Knight, Dedede, Mega Man, Sonic and Shulk and they're due in February.
In North America all of Wave 3 are February.
If you could send me the original pic (the bigger version of that sprite), that would be helpful. Couldn't find it. I made some with another picture that isn't a sprite. Looks good. But if you want the sprite style, I can make that one transparent if you can find the original version/bigger. Here is what I have so far:

Yeah.. I suppose you are right, but the ordeal of trying to preorder the MM 3D LE has me nervous for future nintendo limited-type preorders lol... I also wonder if they will even make an amiibo for every character.. I've heard people say that is the plan but have not found any sources from Nintendo to confirm this.

I made a post here on it.
However there are a few things to note of.
This is the UK release date (and I would assume EU/Japan).
However it seems the North American release date is all on the same day at some point in February. To me that's a mess however it would make sense.
All I know is there we're getting two different waves so I'd ask your Toys R Us/GameStops on any confirmation on it since there are different retail exclusive Amiibos.
If I was to suggest anything, it would be to get to ready to pre-order wave 3 Amiibos (Rosalina) as she'll be apart of Wave 3 on the 23rd of Jan.

Fuck they look lovely. I now want to get Rosalina, she looks ace...damn it. Toon Link looks even better than expected. Love the texture on him.
Also, anyone got a spare Villager or live near a UK Toys R Us where there's one in stock. I have Marths near me and would be willing to trade a Marth for a Villager. HMU UK amiigos.
