I watched the first few episodes of this and gave up. Is this show reals, or are you guys just crazy?

pls respond

Best new show for reals
if your're a crazy flash fan like me

It's entertaining if you can forgive the bad dialog and plotting.

No, we're a figment of your imagination.

In fact, all of NeoGAF is.

You've been strapped to a bed for 24 years with a tube in your arm.

IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP, JOHNNY.

Jesus, I really wish they'd stop using that particle accelerator as a crutch. Reminds me of Smallville and how every villain was a "meteor freak" because of kryptonite exposure.
It doesn't help that they keep killing 90% of these villains. Plastique, Blackout, Girder, Multiplex, Weather Wizard (one of them), and Simon Stagg. Mist, Reverse Flash, Captain Cold, and Clock King (if you count him) are the only ones that lived.

Did Prism live? I don't recall. Point stands, though. They use a catch-all explanation and then kill off a huge chunk of that result.

It still retains its status as one of the most godlike gifs I've ever seen. Why can't I find a good one of the handshake between him and Oliver? It's the hypest moment in the series so far.

Every time Manu Bennett shakes the hand of the protagonist of a show, it is an explosion of swag. The Hobbit movies sucked because they didn't have that moment.

I'm glad you like the handshake gif, BKatastrophe.

As for Smallville, I was not watching every episode by the time they got to Deathstroke, and, man, that's rough.

Also, for those who like Agents of Shield, I watched the essential episodes (at least according to io9) and, mea culpa, I'm enjoying it a lot more the later in the season it gets.

Finally, I've now seen the mid-season finale three times, and it delivers each time. That scene with Joe West is sooooo good, so good. They did an excellent job creating suspense and tension. I'm still looking for a spot on that hype train!

co-signed on both. that essential eps guide got me and like 3 of my friends into AoS.

and i feel like i watch the Flash mid-season finale once a week. only 10 more days to go...

this is probably weird but one of my favorite moments from the show is when Joe laughs at Barry's speed voice. I don't know why but it just seemed any other show would've had Joe "shaking his head" at "sighing" or something but here he laughs and haves fun with it.

It stuck out to me for some reason.

that scene was great, the actor showed some real sincerity in that laugh

Because he's an awesome actor.

Prism is locked up, the only villains they've really killed off weren't Flash villains aside from Girder and Weather Wizard dying is just following the comics
since his brother is the proper Weather Wizard
. Killing Stagg was a head scratcher though, even more so in that there was like zero follow up. I still imagine his daughter will eventually show up.

This isn't. I. What?

In Lois and Clark, Deathstroke is a former scientist. An accident in the lab exposed him to magnetic particles, permanently altering his body and granting him magnetic powers. His assistant, who afterwards becomes his wife, helps by creating a special suit to contain his powers and keep metal from being drawn to him while out in public. The suit even has a symbol of its own: resembling the force lines of a magnetic field, forming a stylized figure eight. After this, he becomes an assassin, murdering his targets with his powers, first by drawing the target to him, then by magnetizing the iron in their blood cells, causing a figure-eight mark on the chest as the person dies of a heart attack.

Yikes...

.... did they even read anything at all about the character?

I'm going to pretend I didn't read this.

Oy vey.

What's funny is that it's not a bad idea for a character, but why give him Deathstroke's name? Like... why?

Funny thing is, I just rented all four seasons of the show from the library, I just saw that episode yesterday, which made me think of it. It's a good show I think, because the main characters are great, still it's a little too soapy at times (lois lane replaced by a frog eating clone on her wedding night ugh), and they usually do a bad job with the villain comic book characters. I liked Lex though.

Edit: Also, this version of DS is sort of an anti or bizzaro-clark, in that he actually looks a lot like Clark and even wears the geeky looking glasses as part of his disguise. That's actually the interesting part. I wish they would have done a better job with it than making him a super-powered assassin.

Still better than the Lois and Clark version:

Oh god I remember this as a kid. Lois and Clark found out he was evil through being neighbors and going on double dates.

Deathstroke

:D
Man, I have to watch Smallville. I never watched it to this point. I got to the season with Jensen Ackles, where it was also revealed that Clark and Lex were destined to be enemies due to cave writings. I think it was season 4 or 3. I dropped it at that point.

I was kid when Lois & Clark aired, so maybe that's why I liked it, but still..that episode with some future villain pointing out how stupid Lois is for not recognizing Clark just because he took off his glasses was just plain incredible.

EDIT: Found it. Still soooo good :D

Yeah, Lois and Clark was alright for what it was, didn't hold up all that well in terms of VFX and was more focused on Clark and Lois than Superman but I think that was for the best and IMO Dean Cain is still the best live action interpretation of Clark and still probably the most athletic actor to officially play Superman.

For me, it is still the most enjoyable live-action Superman experience.

So glorious. Who is that bad guy there? He looks familiar.

Tempus during one of the instances of HG Wells showing up.

It's certainly better than Smallville (though technically not about Superman) in many ways and nearly a decade of mopey dope Clark Kent the big dumb alien. Erica Durance/Lois I think is the only character they didn't ruin for me outside of Clark's parents.

Smallville wasn't that bad.

It gave us the best Lex Luthor on screen, two awesome new characters (Lionel Luthor/Chloe), a really great Zod and the JL episode was fun. Loved the LSOH stuff too. And in the finale...

Superman throws the planet of Apokolips into space.

Not the best show ever, but that spoiler moment from the finale is still one of the most Superman things that's ever existed. And on the CW no less.

It makes it look like some kind of limiter, which makes sense. He doesn't really look like he can turn of his power. The costume will help him in doing that.
