Maybe they're holding it until Revelations 2 drops or something.Anyone have any idea why they havent brought RE CVX over to PC yet? I mean they brought the RE4 HD one over.

Purchased my copy from Play-Asia. It took about 3 weeks to arrive (though that was during the holiday season). And yes, the game is region free.
I got a copy from Nippon-Yasan, works fine in English (aside from the announcer saying Biohazard and not RE, No big deal) on my European PS3

I really doubt it. There's no chance they changed engine. I doubt they re-did any textures, they probably went back to source art and used them at higher resolution than on PS3. And who knows how much work they had to do for 60fps. There was an official video of Uncharted 3 some years back of the game running at 60fps, so the engine definitely already supported it, so the more powerful hardware probably made that fairly easy.
I should emphasize that they changed engine for REmaster, as that's a massive undertaking.
Well you're comparing a $50 remaster to a $20 one. So I don't think it's a fair comparison.
Only the Japanese PS3 version.
i didn't make the comparison, he did. my point was more that making a blanket statement that capcom put more effort and resources towards this game than TLoU:R is a bit a silly statement without some sort of expert, experienced, or insider information that would back that up. not simply, "they changed engines, therefore it took more effort"
Why?
Because Capcom.Why?
People can't really be serious when they questioning if a gamecube remaster and a below 7th gen standards game are too much for the PS4 and XB1? Its a bad port job plain and simple.
Again, let's all be happy this is at least being saved from emulation-only, please.
Does it have English audio or just subtitles?
Regarding the console framerate, it's a shame that it's not 60FPS given the modest PC requirements.
I'm willing to bet they didn't target 60fps on consoles because certain parts of the game is still 30fps (like the pre-rendered cutscenes). They probably figured PC gamers would be more okay with compromises like that.
I definitely think it's unfair to say they didn't put a lot of effort into this port. Last of Us remastered probably required some fancy technical work but they didn't re-do most of the textures, change engine, clean up animations, and add in a ton of new graphical effects.

Thats because the game was already great from the get go. No need to redo anything in any significant ways. Not saying its "perfect" but a 2013 game doesnt need major rework to get to PS4 unlike a game from 2002 GC era.
Capcom could of done more or put more effort into the REmake remaster for sure. I dont blame them because they must have limited funds and people to get it to a "proper" standard that we all wish Remasters got. (better optimization is the one that takes more time/effort) But seeing that single dude HD-Fi RE4 makes capcom look like incompetent fools though in a sense.
You don't need much programming experience to know that changing engine is a big undertaking. I don't have any insider knowledge, and I'm sure they did some really tricky stuff with TLoU:R (I'm sure there was a lot of code optimized specifically for PS3 SPUs which would be useless on the PS4).i mean, do you have some insider information that confirms that it's some massive undertaking requiring more man-power than TLoU:R? i know they redid some of the backgrounds, but up-scaling old pre-rendered backgrounds doesn't seem as massive as porting over a fully 3D game with large environments.
I'm not sure why Capcom timed this like they did. I was totally going to get this, but with Revelations 2 so soon on its heels, I just don't need that much RE in my life at once.

Guys, why no answer yet to my question?
The time they put when I pre-ordered the game is the time when the auto download starts or it's the time I will be able to play the game?
I had to read the question a few times to understand but are you referring to this on the Steam page?
![]()
That's when the game unlocks and is available to play, preloads happens prior to the game unlocking if it's offered.
That's when u can play it.I'm asking about the PSN version![]()

?or capcom just being lazy
Which will never happen ( at least in our lifetime ).
Are new consoles that weak compared to PC?
Regarding the console framerate, it's a shame that it's not 60FPS given the modest PC requirements.
It's not why it's 30fps though. They probably couldn't get it to run a stable 60fps and with the backgrounds being prerendered. The animations for the background probably have problems at anything not a multiple of 30fps.
Background animations are all rendered in real time.
Given that the game runs smoothly at stable 30 fps on Gamecube, I will say it is Capcom's fault that they can't even get stable frame rate on much stronger consoles. But I think I shouldn't demand too much from a $20 game :|How come the ps4 and Xbox one is not 60fps? Are new consoles that weak compared to PC?or capcom just being lazy or not familiar enough with console development?

IIRC as I just preordered it last night, the confirmation message said either the 16th or the 18th, and I am pretty sure it was the 18th.Anyone know when preloading for ps4 will be up?
And as The Last of Us can run at 60 fps, I see no reason why this game is not running at stable 30 fps, let alone 60 fps. Besides, the game definitely definitely isn't a looker, and imo it is not graphically impressive at all. So yeah, I believe Capcom made very little effort making this game :|it also ran at 1/8? the resolution and didnt have the animations running in realtime nor does it have the lighting technology added.

I think I was wrong for saying that Capcom didn't make any effort bringing this game to current consoles. But for the arguments that current consoles are simply not powerful enough to handle the game at 30 fps, I disagree. You might want to educate yourself on that. Google away.
They've actually put in quite the effort for a game as old as this.

It already happened like 5 years ago on PC.
Wow, you think small.
1080p/30fps
Also look how janky the characters look when moving with the new controls. It looks really unnatural. Tank controls characters move really naturally when running and turning and very fluid looking.
Please tell me the PC version isn't capped at 30...

Well, I have never played the Gamecube version beforeUnless I'm mistaken, the dips in frame rate only happens when the camera changes to a new scene. Are we sure the same didn't happen on the GC? In the end it didn't look like gameplay was effected by it.
It doesn't look like a CPU intensive game to me :| It is weird that even a full 3D game like Revelations 2 can run at 1080p at 60 fps. Meanwhile, Remake can'tPeople calling Capcom lazy. This game being remastered would need a considerable amount of CPU power, correct? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, because I'm not entirely sure. The CPU in XB1 and PS4 aren't godly or anything. They're weak and were very outdated before they released.
