At this point I'm all in. I'm already too deep plus I bought a nice display case. So I'll at least be getting every Smash Amiibo. Not sure if I'll get every amiibo outside of that.

This whole January 15th thing at Toys R Us seems legit, guys.
Should be the same in Japan, as long as they receive their stock. You should ask them.

The Amiibo Fever is starting to come back! I've had everyone except Pit for quite a while now, so haven't been out hunting or anything like that.
I finally opened my Pit today after getting it last Friday. The paint on his right hand is a little smudgey, but whatever. It's not that bad. I (supposedly) have another one coming from TRU one of these days, so might have a shot at getting a better one. I also have a Lucario coming on that order (again... supposedly), so I can't cancel the Pit without cancelling Lucario as well. If I do end up with two Pits, I'll let this thread know!
As for Wave 3, I have 8/11 pre-ordered at Gamestop. No worries there as I ordered them long ago and know people that work there, so they'll make sure I get them. I have the above-mentioned Lucario as well as one of the $1 cards from the store. There is a Target about two or three minutes from where I work, so hoping that they have the in-store thing on their website for her so I can just refresh all day and run over there as soon as they are "in stock".
I don't think there are any duds in Wave 3. They all look pretty good. The one that I'm not too excited about, oddly enough, is the one I have two of on order: Lucario. I guess Shiek isn't really that exciting either (to me).

A few people from Reddit said that they called their stores and they confirmed that the 15th is a day for Pit and Falcon.
Also, my TRU pulled their Falcon stock.
I am not like...super convinced. I am merely hopeful and might take a trip to TRU on Thursday to nab a Pit.
Well I mean I was already gonna try a TRU on that date since I don't have work that day, but actual confirmation its pretty good.
The TRU manager showed me the memo and the release date, I didn`t take a picture since I was not allowed.
I'm not sure how well it works, but I noticed that Target has an in store pick-up option on their website. Has anyone used it before?

I don't think so unfortunately.. not for a while at least. But who knows, Nintendo might surprise us and announce restocks at their next Nintendo Direct.
I would try to import one before he get ''discontinued'' elsewhere.

See I love the look of my Zelda but have seen nothing but terrible paint jobs on Samus so I have yet to pick her up...probably will though or at least preorder ZSS.
Thank you for the heads-up. I've given up with securing Pit & King Dedede by local means, so I'm just going to order them now. Now, I need to figure out about securing a Meta Knight Amiibo....

Personally, I expect rage when there isn't a refresher announced at a January Direct, followed by less rage when refreshers are mentioned at a quarterly briefing.
Falcon and Pit are the only ones that had that release date, no mention on restocks, the list had all kinds of toys on it other than amiibos and their release dates, but nothing about other figures. Not even wave 3, I cheked.
You could probably buy a Best Buy gift card in store with the cash, then use that online..?

I haven't been paying that much attention but do most ppl believe that TRU rumor to be true?
Also add City: for those of us that would rather skip having to deal with shipping. For example I have an extra Meta Knight coming to me here in Toronto and would rather pass that along to another person here in person to save the hassle of shipping/PayPal and the like.
Someone claims they saw the memo at TRU given to stores. But yeah who knows. I just meant if it turns out true, I will go down there on the 15th to get extras for anyone that needs them. I already have them for my collection. Stores holding things for delayed release and making it an event is not unheard of. Things like this happen all the time and stores get memos on what to do. But this could still be 100% bs.

And I love how dedicated everyone is to helping each other out getting amiibos, the google docs thing sounds like a great idea. I haven't really been active on GAF before, but I'd love to be a more active member in the community and help out. I might have an extra Shulk and Rosalina coming (managed to preorder 2 of each online). I'll report back once they're actually released and get shipped (fingers crossed)!

I have a buddy who works at TRU and he's been waiting for Captain Falcon and Pit to come in (his only two missing amiibos). His store never got Captain Falcon or Pit in before when all of the other retailers got them. He told me today that they finally got Captain Falcon in but he has it sitting in the back office because he couldn't purchase it because it's street dated for the 15th. He also said still no sign of Pit at his store. Obviously this might not be the case for every store, but I felt like this might be worth sharing.

I'm definitely in for the 15th. Been amiibo hunting this entire last week without any luck on the rare figures. With that $10 off $40 deal would definitely grab Captain Falcon and Pit, along with someone else. Is Toys R Us pretty smart about this to where they will have them out on display at opening or will it require amazing on anyone's experience? Last I went just had tons of the usuals.
A important thing to notice about the TRU release date on the 15th is that it CAN be changer at any given moment, the manager told me that won´t happen but his employee told me that it did happened when they released Zelda, Little Mac and Diddy, since they were instructed to release on December 16th but a last minute memo told them to release them on the 14th.
Man I am really debating getting a Shulk from there, I will try it out if I can't find one in release date.

Cool. I'll try to keep it as simple as possible. Basically, it will just be a list of what username needs what amiibo and their location (if they want to list it). Then people can look at that list, and PM someone if they have an extra they want to trade or sell. Also, the list can help out people who might find extras while shopping. The only thing I ask is, you keep it updated. Once you no longer need the Amiibo, please edit it off your list.

All regions should be fine tbh. This is just listing info. In terms of, whether someone wants to trade/sell over seas, that is just a personal thing people have to decide if they contact you via PM or whatever. My guess is, if you list your location, then someone that doesn't want to ship or trade over seas would just not PM you to begin with.
EDIT: I'll make sure to ask people to list (EU) (JP) (US) next to each extra amiibo, since that might matter in terms of packaging for some folks. Also for the category listing what Amiibos you need, you would list the region you prefer like:
Amiibos:
(JP), Pit, Villager, Marth.
In that example, you would have said you wanted those 3 amiibos, but you prefer the JP version. If you list NOTHING in front, then it means you don't care what region. You are open to all regions.
Maybe allow an extra note section or somethng so that people can make note if they are willing to ship outside their area/country? I know several people don't want to ship internationally, but I wouldn't mind the trouble of shipping outside of the country to trade with people and get some of the ones I am missing. (And if this was already mentioned and I missed it, I'm sorry lol)
