With this talk of TRU streetdating CF and Pit, I wonder if they're actually getting cases of those two only (which I doubt) or if they're pulling them from the boxes and setting them aside (again, doubtful)? I mean, the whole thing seems kind of iffy to me. And for that matter, the TRU where I'm located has already had them for sale (though I personally missed and didnt see them; a worker told me they got 4 of each in in there shipments, and they sold quickly).

Just bought a Donkey and Diddy to go with my Pika, Fox, Falcon, Villager and Yoshi.
Every time I see this thread I swear I end up looking online for half an hour to see if there are any deals. It's crazy. Thankfully most of the time I'm able to resist... Wave 3 might just kill my wallet.

Yeah, that's the thing with amiibos. At $13 a pop they seem like really small insignificant purchases...but I'm already eyeing my collection of 13 and trying not to do the math in my head

Lol I do the exact same thing. Ive also wasted so much productive time checking websites and store inventory for those rare amiibo. Luckily I pre ordered a bunch wave 3 and have some gift cards at the ready. I can only imagine what wave 4 will do to me though.

So glad I bought most of my amiibos at under $9 a pop thanks to Gamestop giving out a ton of $5 coupons.
Out of 18 amiibos, I believe I've spent $200 to get them all, with 3 out of the 18 paying more than $9 for (Marth/Villager/WFT/Captain Falcon).
It's definitely possible to get better deals than MSRP, but I guess better to just pay full price than to risk something getting sold out and discontinued.

My resolution is not buying games at launch/full price...with about 20 more amiibo--just in the Smash line--that I want, that kinda ruins me anyway.

I think my Walmart just gave up on restocking amiibos. When I went their yesterday all they had were 2 peaches. They haven't had any restocks since the wave 1 launch.

Haven't tried myself, since I don't have those cases, but I do own a fair bit of Infinity figures from Gen 1 and the Infinity figures are larger and taller than the amiibo with the tallest amiibo, Pit, just a couple cm shorter than the tallest Infinity figure I own (Wreck-It Ralph).
At the very least I'd buy at least one to test out but I'm fairly confident they'd fit.
Edit: Just looked on youtube for these cases and the largest Infinity figure (Wreck-It Ralph) does not fit and judging by the size of Pit (Ralph and Pit and near the same size) he wouldn't fit either.
In any case, I just ordered the cases (they come in a pack of 3) on amazon so I'll have them in a couple of days and post pics of the amiibo inside of them.
Shit... all I want is Pit...

That's pretty much how my Walmart is in northern NJ. It seems so strange to me that they never put out more since their original shipment. Maybe employees are just lazy? *shrugs*
now if only Metaknight was on there, I wouldn't have to order from a JPN site...
though I think amazon.it is giving me a better deal.

people tend to forget that skylanders had the same problem when it first launched and it took activision 2 years to get it right and its still a pain to find certain skylanders after a couple months after the games launch.
I was at TRU this weekend buying a few common amiibos. The cashier told me they were having an event for a few new amiibos this week. Knowing about the rumor, I asked her which ones. She looked at an internal store memo and she said "Oh, its for Disney Infinity, not amiibos." She could still be wrong, though.

Gees that seller isn't even trying. Most give you a story about needing money for student loans, or wanting to give their family a good Christmas. This guy/gal? Wants to buy video games. Please donate to his cause!
The thread title is in part based on that very fact. We encountered that guy before this thread was even made, in the last amiibo thread.
Tesco is a UK supermarket. I guess the closest you could compare it to is Walmart (in fact Walmart own another UK supermarket chain, that being Asda).
I have - only once, and it was for Marth way back in the day (you know, like two months ago). The figure was impeccable. I don't know if I just got extremely lucky or if that's how it always is, but the packaging had absolutely zero blemishes. I was very impressed!
Maybe he's attacking Kirby or Ness? ;P

Yeah, the stand really doesn't look good at all on Link. Some characters can get away with it (like Villager), but Link's stands out as bad.
