Resident Evil HD Remaster confirmed for PS3/PS4/360/XB1/PC

I don't remember anything about the Gamecube version of the game except that it was gorgeous and I loved it. Played the PS1 version so much that it's the one stuck in my head. Really looking forward to playing this remaster
Same for me, looking forward to it.
Well except the part about the PS1 version. My PS1 RE game was always RE2.

Damn, this got me excited about a physical PS4 version:

But it looks to be just a download voucher :( - http://www.play-asia.com/biohazard-...apanese-network-on-paOS-13-49-en-70-8eax.html

A little PSA to people playing REmaster for the first time. You get this difficulty selection screen when you first start the game:

You might think you're choosing between easy, normal, and hard. But it actually corresponds to very easy, easy, and normal. Very easy is new to this version of the game, and as it implies, it's really easy. Hard is unlocked by beating the game once.

I've seen some people get confused by the screen, thinking they chose normal when they actually chose easy.

So, if I played the original on the PS1 on normal, I should pick the 1st option now to get the equivalent difficulty level?

That's strange. Mine is 15gb, downloading right now. Why is the pre-load so early? I thought it was meant to be on the 18th?

Are you sure!? that's weird :(
I've started it manually, just entered its page and pressed the download button, for some reason it didn't start automatically, maybe it's fucked up.

Maybe i should just cancel it and re-download it or something.

What about the Theme, did you get it?

At least the question itself is a bit clearer than it was in the original remake.

Call me crazy but when I first played the game I wasn't sure if Mountain Climbing was the harder option or in fact the easier as in "Oh, video games are difficult to you? Then we'll make it nice and easy for you".

In the end I made the correct choice but still, a bit misleading.

Did the harder difficulty limit the number of rounds in a mag's inventory slot? That might be why I remember the game being much harder as a kid, choosing the wrong difficulty due to the description confusing me.

Whaaat. It's only downloaded 3gb now, that's really weird.
Also I wasn't aware we were meant to get a theme for pre-ordering?
If so, nada, haven't got it either.

Is pre-load for the PS3 version up too?

RE Remake is a vastly different beast from the PS1 version. I will say its a good bit harder in general, but... not a hard game per say. If you beat the first game on normal, you should have a general sense about the old RE style to play this one on its "normal" as well.

Personally still can't tell the difference between the two modes haha.

I'm talking about the PS4 version.
And I was wrong, it does downloads the full game, you can see it when checking the game's info (hover over the game--> press options--> information, there you can see it keeps downloading until 15 GB)

And yes we are suppose to get a theme, Don't see it though.

I really can't remember the difficulty difference between RE1 and REmake, but normal is a pretty safe bet as starting difficulty if you want something challenging.

To my recollection the original was the hardest of the old REs, so if this is significantly harder I might consider the 2nd option. I do want some challenge though.

Yeah harder difficulty had less ammo in all the pickups.

Arrange mode in the PS1 version had double ammo.

Will I like this if I didn't like RE1 on PS1 a whole lot? My RE craze started from RE2.

Well worth a shot.

It's still Resident Evil 1 at its core, but it's a significant upgrade in every single respect, with some new additions and other twists to the original game. Even if you didn't like RE1, if you like any of the others then this is absolutely worth a second look.

Standard old skool Resident Evil between difficulty settings. less scarce ammo and stronger enemies. I dont think enemy's have been arranged in different locations or if there are more enemies.

Entered the Tyrant boss fight with chris on Hard Mode with only 3 Magnum shells and the Knife.

fuck...

Anyway, Capcom confirmed that the PS3/PS4 version does NOT support cross save.

One difference between normal and easy on REmake was
that you had shoot Lisa in the fight at the altar otherwise Barry or Wesker falls down on the pit, on easy there's no need to lure Lisa's attention
Well...at least for me that was the most glaring contrast, I'm pretty sure that there are another ones...

The fact this will shit all over any of the other Res Ev's tells you all you need to know about how the franchise "developed" ...

That's debatable. I love the RE series and I think RE2/3 are better than the first one. So the franchise definitely "developed" along in a good way I'd say. It changed focus once RE4 hit.

On which next gen console ver. This runs/looks best? Would like to pre-load this thing now as soon as I get the word from you brahs.

I would assume it runs exactly the same. The game is mostly just pre-rendered backgrounds with, at most, a handful of character models on-screen. I believe the game will have parity between Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Good to know and thx for the info. Was hoping PS4 had an upper hand. I'm on it, pre-loading.
