I can't believe this doesn't come with the AC adapter, how fucking stingy can you get?
Wait, has anyone pre-ordered in store at Gamestop or Best Buy yet? I'm probably going to do that later, probably for the Majora's Mask System or maybe the MH4 Bundle.
How much do you have to pay now? Also, do we know yet if either plans to have a midnight launch?
I can't believe any business would sell an expensive electronic device and not include the power cord/AC charger. I was ready to throw money at a n3DS XL, but I'll hold off until they get their shit together.
Yikes, salt levels are extremely high in this thread.
Yeah, the exclusion of the AC adapter is lame and the fact that they're only releasing the XL is upsetting but understandable considering the sales of the old 3DS XL in the U.S., but geez do some people need to get some perspective.
You'll still be able to play all of your 3DS games and (most) upcoming releases on your "old" 3DS model, and your life will go on without a 3DS that has cute changeable faceplates. As for the AC adapter, you can either buy a new one for $8 or whatever, or just not buy the adapter or the system at all!!!
I pre-ordered both on GS, and they're sold out now. I'm F-5ing best buy like a madman to try and score an additional MM one for a friend.
You are assuming everyone owns a DSi and/or 3DS and also won't trade in their device which would also entail them trading in the charger.Jesus Christ, all the whining because of the missing AC adapter.
They are using this adapter since the DSi and almost everyone buying the new 3DS will already have one. Those few who don't can buy a new one for five bucks. Where is the problem?

Is the AC Adapter a collectible amiibo?
Problem is when you trade a 3DS in to GS, they require the adapter as well.Jesus Christ, all the whining because of the missing AC adapter.

Yeah, it was going to be my first 3ds. I'm supposed to buy an adapter separately? What other electronics giant does this shit? Do I buy phone chargers separately? Screw that. If it costs me $5, it would have probably cost Nintendo less than $1 per unit to include it. I can't believe this anti-consumer sentiment from CONSUMERS.

Any product that needs a cable to function properly should come with one
People don't want the item just for faceplates
The solution shouldn't be "just spend extra money"

Why is it not supposed to be a problem for us to buy a charger for the device that requires one but it is a problem for Nintendo to include one? If it's only $5, surely Nintendo can include one.
This post is silly, and extremely condescending.Yikes, salt levels are extremely high in this thread.

Only the XL variant for now.
Calling somebody salty is no different than saying "u mad." It needs to stop. Honestly.

Are you done pulling stats and percentages out of thin air?No, I'm not. I'm assuming almost everyone who does want the new 3DS already owns another 3DS or DSi. Certainly the majority of the people complaining in this thread.
I did trade in my 3DS when I got my 3DS XL, btw. Since I'm from Europe and here the 3DS XL doesn't include a charger, I had to buy one separately myself. Wasn't a problem for me, because of the reasons I state further down.
Because approx. 95% of the people buying the device won't need a charger and it is not ecologically worthwhile to include one with every device, if that's the case?

1) You cannot buy a new adapter for only "five bucks"
2) If standalone adapters are so cheap, why aren't they included in the bundle?
4) Do you work for Nintendo? Why are you defending anti-consumerist practices?
After all, your claim that "almost everyone buying the new 3DS will already have one" implies exactly that. And that's not what a good business does. A good business sees potential for growth.
In Europe that's the case, soon. Why? Because it is ecological.
Of yourse you can.
Because most costumers wouldn't need one and it would be a waste of resources/ producing unnecessary plastic trash?
Because it is not anti-consumerist, it is responsible and the right thing to do.
1. That's easier said than done.
2. I included those owning a DSi only as well, since that one uses the same charger.
3. All in all that is a very hardcore capitalistic thing to say and therefor only the point of view of US folks, mostly.
Are there any high res pictures of the new red yet?
It absolutely should be.
How is this a serious post? Any users upgrading from the original 3ds like myself or buying it new need a charger. Theres no defending this. Sorry.
Because it is not anti-consumerist, it is responsible and the right thing to do.
"environmental waste"
If I facepalmed any harder, I'd have to call an ambulance. This is the same company that has consistently been ranked last in Greenpeace's "Guide to Greener Electronics" due to their refusal to publish any records.
If you want to trade it in towards the new one.How do you need a new charger, if you already own a 3DS?
It's like they are desperate for money but don't actually want any at the same time

How is this not up on Amazon yet? I really want to take advantage of prime.
Phone chargers are also standard USB connections.
