Any word on preorders stateside? I don't much feel like trying to import over from the UK...

It can't be a coincidence that your pre-order was cancelled almost exactly 30 days after you placed it. Maybe they were nearing the limit for refunds, and since your order wasn't filled yet, they cancelled it.
So can we all just 'agree' right now that if you can on feb 1 to pick up extras if you can of store exclusives? In my shopping area 5 mins from my house ill be within walking distance of all 4 store exclisives and I intend to be at all opening day hopefully with a lottle help. Ill look later to plan out which store to be at first. But ill be fighting for all I can to get some for people here. Just in case.

I could only get Walmart and Gamestop in my area, but I can't remember if they have exclusives for this wave.

Picking up Shulk at GameStop in store. I have never had any issues with my GameStop, employees are great and has good customer service.
If I do see an extra Shulk there, I'll grab it for someone in this thread.

Technically I believe they've always just listed the month, so the 1st would make sense. Though if that's the case, I'd imagine they'd actually arrive to stores sooner than that.
Just gamestop and that would be shulk.

Morning everyone. Seems like i didn't miss anything of too much importance.
I did actually manage to use all 8 of my amiibos last night. Don't know why watching them in Smash was so satisfying, but it was.

I wouldn't worry about Lucario. I know he's a retailer exclusive, but TRU tends to order in abundance (case in point, the Infinity Series figures for Disney Infinity, which are TRU exclusive in the US...readily available a year later).
This does not quell my worry. I will worry until all 4 exclusives are in my hand. You cant stop me..ha....ha....heh

I could be wrong, but Lucario is the one I'm least worried about. Shulk is probably going to be the hardest to get.

It is oddly fun! Before I found Falcon and Pit, I had 16 of them and fought them 1-on-1. I made a bracket! The final was Marth vs. Peach and PEACH WON!!!

I will pick up extra of every Amiibo in Wave 2/3/4.
Oh shit, my Rosalina seems to be preparing for shipment. That's very exciting.

Woohoo! Just checked my email and my Rosalina from Amazon.fr just shipped. Says it should arrive by Feb 2.
Question though, how good is import shipping? Never done this before, I usually do local.

I'm very skeptical about that whole process too. It was such an odd transaction. I wanted to pay for the whole figure, but they would only take $1. Then they only took my email. No phone number, no name. Just $1, an email address, and a piece of paper with Lucario's picture on it.
I also have one on order through TRU.com, but I'm not very confident that I'll get either one.
They came through for me with Pit. This, of course, after I found two extras in-store. So now I have one more that I'm hoping to trade for a Shulk or Meta Knight.

I've imported things from the UK and German Amazon and got them in around 10 days.
I ordered a lucario through TRU's eBay page and don't expect to actually get it either. They took the whole payment up front, but they seem to love selling shit they don't have there going by feedback.

Looking at the GAME pre-orders it would be double the cost. Will likely wait.
What is the pre-order policy with GAME? Do they charge right away? No cancellations? Do they put a hold on the card like Best Buy when the order is first put in?

They charge when they're sending the items out, and they do a one-time authorisation check (£1 or so, I think) when you place your order, but that's refunded. Not sure about cancellations - do you mean them cancelling your preorder? Can only imagine that would happen if they got less stock than expected, but by Wave 4 they should have a better idea of what they're getting and set preorders accordingly.

I think you have to weigh the cost of importing vs. the hunt and possible lost opportunity of finding it here in Canada. If you miss that window, you'll be having to find one aftermarket which in itself, could end up costing more then importing.
I have no idea what will happen with the Rosalinas in Canada though. Either way I would be having to hunt one down as the closest Target to us is 4 hours drive away. If they move them through Wal-Mart, I'd have a chance but I don't see this happening. This was an agreement between Target and Nintendo. If they pick a different retailer in Canada, it can no longer be considered a Target exclusive.

They charge when it ships. You can cancel at any time. You can also revise the order to remove figures you don't want (or found at a Canadian retailer).
I usually place an order with them as a backup (had to keep my Lucario & Rosalina backup from Wave 3). I'm in Canada too.
Holy cow already sold out from my view. I already have it on nin-nin games but geez.
Amazon.it. It was like $30 with shipping and the more I thought about it the more it just felt wrong from a personal accomplishment to a monetary standpoint. I think it's important to sit back and examine that there might be some risk but that there should be better ways, even if I have to get up early.
Note that I might wind up with 2 Lucarios due to preorder cancel shenanigans so maybe I could trade.
Damn, that was fast.
I was able to get my preorder on best buy and they have yet to fail me on ship to home, but daaamn.

My Pit is still on "back-order". It's on the same order as Lucario, so I'm hoping they're just holding Pit back so that they can ship them at the same time. I would just cancel Pit, but it looks like it's all or nothing with the cancellation.
I might take you up on that if I can't get one at EB Games. The preorder sold out before I could even get to a store; if there's no extras, I'll have to hunt for it.

I know I should just wait for the re-release and/or random stock updates, but ughhhhh I really want Marth and Ike. I can get them both for $48 shipped from amazon.de but I'm hesitant. To secure them now and not worry about it anymore or wait and try to get lucky with domestic retailers...
