Amiibo Discussion Thread 2: I Got 99 Pre-orders But A Rosalina Ain't One

I have all of wave 3 preordered (except Elsa / Rosalina, of course), and yet, just to be super safe, I just ordered some from Amazon.de. If the original preorders come through, I'll trade / sell them at cost here for sure.

I've accepted my amiibo addiction long ago. But I manage it well and it doesn't affect me. So's all good.

I've got a Rosa and a Shulk from Amazon De, UK and It.

I too have accepted my addiction. But I'm clearly not managing it well.

/grabbed the last Robin from Game but missed out on the rest of W4 :(
 
Are stores required to at least put up some copies that aren't preorders? I'm amiibo hunting if so. (Ive typed amiibo so often, it autocorrects to it now lol)

GameStop is hit or miss based on area.
But any bigger retailer will have amiibos in store. Though you might need to be there right away to get them.

My GameStop only does pre orders for like the first 2 days. They're fucking dumb. Its like, let's say the new CoD is coming out and only 50 ppl pre order it, you're going to look me straight in the eye and tell me you only ordered 50 fucking copies for those that pre ordered it? Smd with that bull shit. I hate gamestop
 
Mornin' everyone! I'm hitting the road for the next 2 days, so I don't know how much I'll be keeping up with the thread. I will definitely be back in time to see if anything goes down on Monday.

I just picked up a Shulk on amazon.de. I had to add two more amiibos to negate some of the shipping cost so I went with King Dedede and Meta Knight. Looks like they have placed a limit of one for each of those.
 
I posted my Amiibos for sale a few weeks ago. I got a bunch of people interested but everyone backed out.

At this point I'm frustrated and only interested in selling as a bundle. The ones listed with asterisk are opened, but I still have the packaging. All are the North American edition in perfect condition with no noticeable defects.

I don't understand why EU has been getting ridiculous stock (cam still get the trinity in stores), early preorders for Wave 4 and early releases.

While in NA we have no idea about preorders, awful supply, so much bullshit.

We have been getting backhanded by Nintendo of America is small ways for the past 2 years. But now it's very prominent for no apparent reason, I'm confused by just how crappy everything is going, and still we don't have a proper/detailed response from Nintendo about their recent decisions after all of our counterpoints and questions.

I honestly thought they would have addressed the amiibo shortage in the recent direct. I know about Marth but what about the others.

This is what I think, I could be wrong but it's my guess. Nintendo of Japan (NCL) is all up in the business of NoA. I would guess most everything has to be run by Japan first. So there gets to be a delay in almost everything because NCL comes first. I think this also leaves those in charge out of touch with what is going on here. NoE I get the sense runs its own show more or less. This means they get to stay on top of things.

Either that or NoA is just laregly incompetent, but I have a hard time believing this. Either way it's a messed up system that needs to be changed IMO.

I want NoA to go back through history and release every LE, Game, LE console, and memorobilia that NoA never did here stateside. :( so many wants....

Yet there was an employee from Target in one of these threads that said the Nintendo rep was at their store taking away the Amiibo display. Would be nice if Nintendo would chime in on this.

Yea the conflicting reports are annoying... I tend to believe the Nintendo rep. Maybe some stores received shipment already and others did not. I don't know... It's a mess and it sucks... Oh Rosalina! =(

With NA being the only region that has yet to initiate preorders (i think we're the only ones left) my thoughts are that Nintendo might be trying to make retailers issue a limit to preorders (online and in-store) to at the very least stop the scalper problem.

I think the scalper issue only affected NA, am I wrong?
 
Just bought marth and wiifit trainer and ordered villager,kirby,falcon and pit on amazon.de but impossible to find a littlemac for less than 40 €

Any other amiibos that are rare to find ?

I'm trying to buy all the rarest amiibos and after i'll buy the more common ones like mario and luigi

The question in my mind is why NoE gets what seems to be a greater degree of autonomy/is able to give better deals etc. to its customers than NoA if NCL were such a dead hand on the tiller of their subsidiaries.

The removal of the Japanese exec who was managing NoA (name escapes me) and Iwata's takeover suggests NCL recognised something was amiss, but is the US branch really that dysfunctional that it's still a problem even after that?

Either that are they are busy negotiating retailer exclusive rights :(

I don't know maybe they just take the American market for granted, they feel like they have to work harder to win over the mindset in Europe.
 
Anyone holding out on some amiibos due to possible future versions? Now that they introduced the Super Mario amiibos, it seems like they could spring new ones on us at any time. I haven't bought Link yet because surely Zelda will get a line of amiibos later this year.
 
What perplexes me about EU getting better supply and communication is they it is the part of the world that is doing the worst on sales for Wii U, 3Ds, etc.

You walk in and see 700 copies sitting there and those mother fuckers acting like not 1 is not pre-ordered.

This is why i can't go in a gamestop anymore, that along with trying to sell me new games opened killed any interest of ever going back into a GS.

Use your US amazon login. Make sure you are buying from Amazon as the seller. That's about it. Shipping is a bit high but the more you order the less it comes out to per amiibo hence many people will order 3 or 4 at a time.
 
Hello AmiiboGAF! I've posted in the previous thread a couple of times, but I've really been impressed by the courtesy and the friendliness of this community from all the thread lurking! So I'd like to become an Amiibro and discuss these vexing figures and all that. And maybe help out a few other Amiibros along the way.

Edit: They don't appear to have the Pit I need through amazon as a seller. If anyone has an extra Pit, I'll order what you need for a trade
