Holy shit, so much happened this episode, I'm having trouble processing it. God the maid-girl revelation was incredible.

I hope to see more Leo- uh, Frognado, but I hear he's only in this ep :(

So, this episode pretty much confirmed something I had been thinking since this season's talk about the world changing to become more real, affecting even the players,
the whole in universe backstory about the world changing magics and such is false.

The People of the Land only started existing as conscious "real" people alongside the Apocalypse itself. This isn't a world that dragged players from Earth to it due to the world changing magics mentioned in season one, it was likely created alongside whatever happened to the players.

The world changing spells are probably just a rationalization of their past, like their whole life story. See for example, that cursed sword where the curse and haunting ghost only started existing in the first place once the flavor text became real. So, that entire story is technically a lie, even if the ghost could "remember" it, just like how the people of the land can remember leading lives before the Apocalypse, but they likely didn't exist. This episode pretty much confirmed that considering the dialogue of the npc hero with the boss.

Log Horizon Season 2, Episode 15:

I can imagine that quite a few people are not going to like this episode but the fact of the matter is an arc like this was not just due but overdue. The Log Horizon Junior League has had very little in the way of screen time this season and their continued development is one of the central sub-developments. Indeed last season around this time they were just getting their training wheels attached and now they have reached basically a ritual that is analogous to a rite of passage into adulthood, that Magic Bag quest that was mentioned way back when. That being said, this is the rare truly light episode, well, almost anyway. We do get some insight into Isuzu and Touya, both stated and subtle. Outside of that it was basically watching the kids gear up for the quest bonding and doing goofy shit. Of course, this is just the start of things, I have no doubt that their quest will connect to the larger happenings that are transpiring. Finally, when I said Optimus Prime was showing up, I WAS KIDDING AROUND LOG HORIZON!

S2 E15

This was one of the more downbeat episodes that I have liked start to finish. The grand scale of Elder Tale's world makes it appear that some of these rite of passage quests do take some time and a good deal of travel to accomplish. I love that aspect of this game world. The gearing up, the humor, and a bit of background was just right for what we got. I''m also glad that Isuzu's background stuff makes a bit more sense and is less centered around "Not being good enough". I'm fine with the tone and a break from some of the heavier stuff sounds fine, though next week might dip into some deeper and heavier stuff as they move forward toward their magic bags.
Female Shiroe? wtf? Is that actually supposed to be someone else in disguise like Nureha?

I think it is a good direction to go in. Log Horizon is much larger than Shiroe and Akatsuki and a focus on some of the lower level characters and their quest is a good change of pace. My only concern is delving too deep into some of the love interest aspects which tend to feel way more cringe worthy than they should ever be in a show this good.

As for the bolded, I actually loved that part of the show and the comments from both Rudy and Nyanta. Actually, I love Rudy as a character, even if he seems more relegated to comedic relief.

Wow This episode was amazing. Tohya playing the drum and then his soccer story. I love how excited he is about going on their own quest. Its as good as when they were training back in the day in the cave getting to know each other and not. First episode to make me feel all happy and warm about the anime.

I love their Log Horizon bus too, this is what Log Horizon was all about.

This episode had plenty of good things for everyone...
Tetra can pop-up from everywhere , lol ...

Serara reinforce her status as "purest girl" no contest here.

And those rundel haus moments ...-*bow*-

Very good episode.

Hmm must be the only one that was super disappointed. Not with the eps. But with when this arc starts after last week's eps. Unless this arc ties with the main storyline with that mofu princess?

Why the fuck does kanami have such big boobs?

Come the fuck on.

Episode was solid besides that, but I wished we saw more of their adventure. Could have been expanded on a lot. Maid not was neat, even if I hate the deadpan trope.

I'll be watching a week behind probably till the end of the season.

This arc is very important. you have no idea how gamechanger it is

I do recall the last time we were here that was the beginning of The Return of The Goblin King, an event that is still ongoing.

Certain Scenes they were too large most likely due to poor QC
Kanami-debauchery-tea-party.jpg

They're supposed to be big, but this is just laughably Off model compared to S1 and the LN's

Basically she's got double DEENs

Yeah I noticed that as well. Maybe they vary with her excitement level? haha

After this series concludes I would like to see remake in the same way Brotherhood changed up the Full Metal Alchemist formula.

There is a lot of great material in Log Horizon but I feel they made some decisions that takes away from how detailed this world is.

It would be very interesting to revisit this series with a different team of directors, writers and characters to give us more perspective on what was going on while Log Horizon was rising up in power.

^Well Brotherhood was made to follow the manga more closely. I don't know how well Log Horizon is following the LN, but I think more or less pretty closely?

Certainly a remake with an actual budget would be nice, but even then I'd rather just see this show through to the end first.

Though that will probably never happen. Or at least not for another 11.567 years.

Yeah I noticed that as well. Maybe they vary with her excitement level? haha

Its not a bug - its a feature!

They seemed to change her design between episode 1 of season 2 and now, but reused the episode 1 preview scenes anyway, which results in the inconsistency there.

Her design didn't really need to match up with the one seen in season 1 though since it's technically a different in-game character (although the same player).

Finally got around to watching the latest episode. Really enjoyed it and I'm definitely looking forward to this arc. The kids finally going off on their own little adventure made me so nostalgic of the first time I played an MMO.

I caught up with the last two episodes. I liked the story on the Chinese server and that was fairly interesting about the healer being
a bot
.

This last episode about the newbies going on their first official quest made me laugh several times. Holy shit
at the part where Tetra came out of Naotsugu's shirt.

no clue how everyone figured out Tetra's gender.

how do you tell in online games???

Had a dude friend who can do the perfect highschool girl 'chat style'. Got so much free loot in mmos that way from dudes.

tetra's teleport skills must be god tier

are the others all lvl 90+? I remember Shiroe, Naotsugi and Akatsuki at least were at level cap pre-expansion, and I think Nyanta was as well. Is Tetra and the other guild leaders?

A bit overly anime (expression-wise and typical gag-wise) this ep but I'm cool with it.

Preview looks interesting. Vampire Shiroe! (Possibly a woman or something idk!)

Yeah, I agree with the others - it's really interesting seeing the world as more fleshed out than your typical MMO/even generic RPG story where there's no preparation to be made before you go out and do things.

Still, I wonder what the Top Tier will be up to while the newbs are away. I doubt Shiroe is just on vacation...

Tetra is above level 90 too. Naotsugu remarks that Tetra has combat experience from after the apocalypse while looking at Tetra's stats.

Season 1 actually often had those expressions, even for people just standing in the background. Season 2 had toned them down though, before this episode.

The opening shows Nyanta fighting against the group from the train, so I guess we'll eventually get a guild war here. There's also that scene with the black swords guild leader leading an army, which still hasn't happened.

It had more to do with how overt Tetra was in the obnoxious idol speech. That and some people already knew because of the novels.

From what I've heard (Note: I don't know Japanese) It doesn't come across when reading subs but when Tetra refers to herself in Japanese she uses the Japanese male word for herself instead of the female word. Apparently that was a hint.

Like Ore or Boku?

Shiroe knew from another source.
Nyanta realised right away but keep silent ( he after all respect the role players since he is one )
After that , it's safe to assume that the girls discovered this when tetra bonded with the group. Witch probably passed the info to rundel haus and the rest of the newbies.
I really think that the only people in the dark regarding tetra are naotsugu and marie.

Well , indeed those person exist in any MMo .

Well it's very easy to know those who did nothing and those who just lived. The Xp bar from lv 90 to 91 is quite huge after all . So you've really have to have experience with this stuff if you're 91,92or 93 .
I don't think we've seen a lv 95 so far in the show. ( adventurer i mean )
The leader of the combat guilds , like crusty were at 93 at the start of the show, probably was near 95 when he got it by that cursed weapon...

No one knows for sure but the war is a given at this point considering all the hints that were given.... It's basicly the climax of this arc/season.
Like Ore or Boku?

Tetra does use a lot of "Boku" instead of "atashi"

We haven't seen anything indicating that the girls know though (nor Nyanta, but he certainly figured out).

Most of that episode wasn't from the novels, and that scene specifically just seems kind of odd, especially Rudy's comment, since "male with female avatar" really shouldn't be something "obvious" for a Person of the Land. Even Toya in the previous episode was certain that Tetra was a girl, so him realizing that it's a male player off screen is kind of odd too.

So why does Naostugu have such plain looking gear when he's also an experienced raid member?
BUt he's lv 94 now !! Did you see those stats on the gear ?
Maybe it's a case of god gear , not good looking gear ?

That's why i said that everyone slowly realised after the initial meeting .
In the meeting most thought tetra was a girl but that quickly changed in the month they lived together.

I'm pretty sure he's cross dressing, which is how people could tell. Look at his body and face shape compared to some of the other characters.

nah it's a female avatar. It's a guy, his voice wouldn't be that high pitched and stayed that away unless he had chosen a female avatar. People can tell because you can easily tell imho in games by mannerisms and speech patterns.
