This episode and the update that came out a week ago is the most frustrating thing you will see on TV in a while. It's also sad.

I don't understand after all the help that was given to Penny why she would continue to lie to herself about her weight loss. It's very depressing how someone can be so deep in their own delusion that nothing gets through not even family. I don't get how she manages to wake up everyday and continue on.

I tried to find a free full episode but could not.

I'm still looking for a legit video on her.

Basically TLC paid for her weight loss surgery and she fucked it off by staying in bed and not working out. Making her husband get her all the junk food despite what the doctors said. Lying to the therapist they set her up with. Everyone around her is trying to help but she insist that her weight is not an issue and shes on the right track at 400+ pounds after surgery.

I'm just pissed off I watched both episodes I had to share. Hopefully I can find the full episodes somewhere.
 
What penny needed wasn't an operation. She needed an intervention. All her behavior is exactly the same of that of an addict. Food was her drug of choice.

It's only a few bucks on Youtube. There are no free versions because TLC is a cable channel that holds the copy rights to their content. Pay for it if you want to see it.
 
Watched both episodes with her and it about killed me. Show is interesting, and most of the folks at least try, and do end up losing a ton of weight, but she just didn't care at all.
 
I am obsessed with this show. Penny is something else, delusional, manipulative, you name it. I feel so bad for Penny's son.

Yeah he knows his mom aint shit. She could not even do Halloween right. They went to like 3 houses and she thought it was a success. She on oxygen does not even need to be. Yelled at her husband for trying to get her grilled chicken instead of fired. I wanted to toss my TV out a window when I saw that. And her addiction wontons good lord!

Wheelchair as her husband pushed her. At the end of the episode they said she get's out of the bed once every 2 months. She also thinks she lost 230 pounds by laying in the bed.

Her husband should at least just leave her food on the table so she has to get up for it.
 
That Opie and Anthony clip has it. The husband is an enabler, not a victim. The only victim is the kid. The bit where she tells her kid that they're trying to throw "his cereal" away sealed it for me. Leave this woman to her own devices. She'll get up, or she'll starve to death. My empathy is at 0.
 
I feel like half of TV these days is intentionally written to be annoying/stupid as possible just so people vent about it, thus spreading the word and planting curiosity to see just how bad it is.

Not sure how he is enabling things. Can you clear it up for me? Also, I agree, she deserves 0 empathy. Bleh.

Penny is saying right now that she's having a set back becasue of a sore she has on her leg and belly. It's just another thing she uses to convince herself she's trying her best. As for Liam he does have a great life. I do know that at his house he will go outside with his friends and ride his rip rider that my mother bought for him for Christmas (if you watch the update episode there's a small scene where he's riding it). He does like video games now which worries me becasue he's so young and I don't want him getting used to staying indoors and sitting all the time. But Liam is picked up from his house (by me, my mom, my other aunt, or his sister) at least 3-4 times a week. We make sure he does things and experiences things kids his age should. I've taken him to the zoo, movie theater all the time, we went to christmas village this year, and even little things like trips to the store. We all make sure Liam gets the play he needs.

We're slowy getting Liam farther away from games and closer to doing things and having really cool experiences. I basically had to drag him into the bowling alley the first time I took him, now everytime I see him he asks me if I'm going to pick him up early from school and take him bowling

I don't know if she's mentally ill for sure or if she puts on an act. She has lost weight from he biggest weight she's ever been (while pregnant with Liam) but as for before and after the show I don't see much differnt. I actually had a heart to heart with my mother the other night that ended in tears becasue we don't know what else to do. You can't help someone who doesn't want help, or in her case she thinks there's nothing wrong. I'm tired of people filling her with lies and telling her she's made progress becasue I don't think she has. She didn't come to thanksgiving or Christmas dinner this year, which is no different than any other year. I do feel bad for her and her situation saddens me, only becasue I don't want to lose her.[ /quote]
My other aunt is one person who tells her she's doing good, and a lot of close friends and believe it or not some fans. And as for Ed I think he truly loves penny and he knows without him she couldn't function. Liam is most likely a factor in that as well.

Penny used to run a daycare that I was a part of when I was a tiny baby. I've seen pictures of her then and she was still big. Not as big as she is now, and not bed ridden, but she was probably still around 350-400

I think she's in denial. My mother and I are both tired of her excuses, but some family members, like my other aunt Angie, and her friends tell her she's doing a good job and that they're proud of her which only feeds into her delusion. I do think some quotes in the show are edited to make her look stupid, but as for her progress the show is 100% accurate.

Eds kinda a perv, not gonna lie, but can you really blame him? I think he does enable her to a point, but he does try to make the right choices for penny and help her but when he doesn't do what penny wants he gets screamed and bitched at. And I feel like he just doesn't want to hear it an assumes if she doesn't want to change why should he force her?

Ed is her main source of food. And with her new couponing obession it doesn't really help. He has to buy what she says or she'll be pissed and I just think at this point he doesn't want to hear it anymore.

We've all talk to Ed before about bringng her food. He basically says that it's her body and she'll put what she wants in it. I think he is part of the problem but part of me feels like that's a lame excuse. My sister is pretty overweight and her and I both still live at home. She constantly brings junk food into the house but I don't eat it because I ultimately control what I eat. Basically if penny really wanted to eat healthy she would becasue Ed buys what she tells him to.

I think penny is in denial and thinks she's losing weight and getting healthier. I highly doubt she thinks she will die anytime soon.

I know that my grandfather was an alcholic and abusive and that probably didnt help penny's mental status. Penny probably remebers most of the abuse since she's the oldest. But I also know that growing up they didn't have much money becasue their mother didn't work. The only time they were spoiled was when they went over to "Poppy's". But as far as I know Penny, Angie and my mother have always been really close. They're mother and father died young and all they really have is eachother.

Penny had a very bad childhood. She have an alcoholic father who abused their mother. She also had a marriage before Ed that ended in one of the most ways I could imagine (he cheated in a terrible way).

A lot of family and friends tell Penny positive things about her progress. My mother is one of the only family members that is 100% honest with penny.

I think having obese family members is an advantage. A lot of people take it as a curse and that they're destined to be in the same place. I've always been very concious of my weight and being healthy becasue I see on a daily basis what the consequences are.

I feel like the show was 100% accurate. She didn't lose weight, at least not as much as she should've. I think she had a total weight loss of 35lbs. I wish the show could've shown more of Liam's life (I understand why they didn't, and couldn't) but people think he isn't taken care of properly and that he doesn't get to do anything fun which is very innacurate. At the moment Liam is actually with me playing with my dogs and having a blast.

Part of me wishes she didn't do this show becasue penny sees when people talk about her and she calls them "haters". She lets all the negative comments get to her. I agree with a lot of things people say, excluding the really rude stuff, but if I were her seeing all these people talk about me id want to prove them wrong!

We all thought her weight would fix itself once she gave birth to Liam. We thought she'd fight harder since she finally had something to truly live for. Liam is now 8 and she is still bed ridden and extremely obese. We've all sat down with Penny, countless times, and told her we don't want to lose her and that we don't want liam growing up without a mother. I think this show and surgery was her last chance and if she doesn't get on the right track soon she will die. I just feel like if someone doesn't want to be helped than you can't help them. So for now i don't know what else we can do.

She is an addict and will die soon. I wouldn't have a single problem if she is interested in that, but the only qualm here is that she is avoiding the responsibility of being a mother and a wife. Don't take it in the first place if you don't have the courage to fulfill it.

He cowtows to what she wants. She flips at grilled chicken, so he gets fried. He makes her stupid wantons that she apparently "can't live without".

At some point, he has to say no. Either that or take the kid and walk away. Instead, he feed her delusions, her lies, and well, her mouth.

Yeah her mental state is very similar to an addicts the way she avoids all of her issues and problems. I hate how when she was making food for the family they literally put a table on her stomach.
