Is Dawn of Mana really that bad?
Lots of reviewer whined about Romancing SaGa, and that was awesome.
the 70000 models can run homebrew, 90000 models cannot. The 90000 models also have a different BIOS (hence the lack of homebrew) and hardware layout. If you don't plan on using homebrew, the 90000 is probably the better machine, but I'd just go with whichever you can find cheap.
Ahhh... pre-7th gen gaming. It was heaven.
Avermedia, Startech, Micomsoft capture cards. I own the 1st 2.What's the best capturing device for recording PS2 games? Some devices don't seem to support it and the ones that do, hardly mention the functionality/compatibility.
I sold mine together with most games back in 2007 in order to get a PS2
had to do a double take. do you mean PS3?
Pawn shop for $16. I admit, the $2 per game price tag made me a bit impulsive.

I found my PS2 component cables cleaning up. I'm so happy.
Now I can have the best connection for my retro setup.
They're also getting pricey now weirdly. At least for the official ones.
The difference between first party cables and knock off cables are night and day. Probably why.I found my PS2 component cables cleaning up. I'm so happy.

Considering the cheap unofficial one I had literally exploded into bits when I took it out the back of my TV a few weeks back, I can see another good reason to get an official one.![]()

I got my PS3 component cables for 15 bucks several months ago.I know the official PS3 component cables also work with the PS2 and vice versa. Those looked nicer I remember, but those are also pricey as well now.

If those are the official gold plated ones, that's an amazing deal. Used ones for 25 bucks.

Question, i have a phat ps2 from about 2002 that i just dragged out of the closet. It runs fine but I want to keep it working for a long while. If I rip my games to a HDD and use a loader without using the laser it should last a long while shouldn't it?
Or does running the games from the HDD wear the console down too?
And can I run pal games from my us ps2. I have a good chance of living in Europe in a few months and want to know if I can bring that over and collect more.
So what's the current accepted non-disc swap region free method for PS2? which chip? who sells consoles preinstalled? etc.
**
Also need PS1 region free if that matters.
Look into FreeMcBoot and Open PS2 Loader.
ps1 region free is harder but you could do a hard drive loader and install the japanese gamesNeither of which allow me to simply put in a non-NTSC PS2 game (as in an original pressed copy) and play it, afaik.
Probably just going to buy a japanese PS2.

No offense but boy does this Dual Shock 4 look gaudy.
Yes, using OPL will allow you to run games from other regions.

what kind of controller is it?
I'm trying to be careful when buying 3rd party brands. I bought Monoprice's 4-in-1 Component Cable (for PS2/3, Wii, Xbox360) just to save money, but the cable did not work for my silver PS2 slim console (SCPH-77001). However, it worked for the Wii console. Now I'm considering buying the expensive 1st party cable, which is ridiculous. :|
That's a surprisingly decent game, given that quidditch itself is kind of broken as a sport. They did a good job adapting it.![]()
I gotta bump my quidditch world cup thread one of these days to give more thorough ideas.

Yeah, this is a possibility I'm looking at.
Easiest way is using an emulator and loading JP discs through that. That's how I play Innocent Sin. (And patched it, too.)
Still the only JP PS1 game I own, come to think of it.

Why not just make a backup of your own copy?
