The Kearse catch was as soul crushing as they come.
I barely slept, the coaches just utterly gave it away. They didn't beat us, we beat ourselves. This is one is going to sting for awhile...
since I'm european, I'm not that much into american football and was neutral (although I'm happy for Volmer, who used to live in my hometown), but why didn't the seahawks just let Lynch carry the ball the last yard to the endzone? I mean, if I remember it corretctly, they still had two downs and one timeout, seemed possible to me for Lynch.
Also gratulations to the Patriots
People need to stop with the we beat ourselves stuff, last I checked Seahawks were still behind, and still needed to score.
It's not foregone conclusion that running it get's them in.
You can't count a TD before it happens.
Bad play call, yeah sure.. but let's not just pretend the TD was already scored.

That is the only way things could have been any more epic.I still kind of wish they tried to run it in on 2nd and 3rd downs and then worst comes to worst interception on 4th.

Its also perfectly fair to say that the Patriots beat the Seahaws fair and square, cuz they did.The way Lynch has been playing, averaging over 4.3 yards per carry or more that game, the fact you are on second down, 1 time out with almost 27 seconds still on clock? Why do you think it was so shocking? Billy B was legit shook and didn't know how to respond, does he stop the clock or what. No one in their right mind expected them to throw a slant in front of the goal line. Why risk it? Even if Lynch didn't score, was stuffed, you still have the ability to stop the clock with a timeout, regroup and try a better play. It's perfectly fair to say the Seahawks lost it for themselves.

Don't think they'd have time for that, though. Only one timeout. Run on 2nd down, don't make it, gotta call a timeout. Then they've gotta pass it on 3rd down if they want a 4th down try.

This is what I'm waiting for too. However, last week he said he would be in the air flying to Australia so I'm not even sure if he watched it or if he's making podcast's while he's touring.oh god, is bill burr's podcast up yet?
Why did they start fighting at the end? Just frustration?

They had two timeouts left though![]()
The thing that is super annoying about the bitching of the play call is that Butler doesn't get enough credit for the play. That shit was insane. Great recognition, and a ridiculous break. Browner also just erased his man at the line which made things easier.

lol!
This is right up there with the Red Sox losing to the Yankees because Grady Little didn't pull Pedro Martinez in 2003. It might even be worse than that.
I think we can all agree that the hawks played a better game of classic, strategic and honorable football. unfortunately in this add culture all anyone will remember is a score.I barely slept, the coaches just utterly gave it away. Agreed. From one camera angle you don't even see Butler until he bodies up the receiver and catches the ball. Crazy play.
I haven't read much of this thread, but did anyone discuss that offsides penalty after the INT? The game wasn't really over until that penalty.
Part of me really thinks it would have been a safety and one shot at throwing downfield towards the sideline (get out of bounds) to set up a field goal kick for the win (by 1). I know this is far fetched... but, that penalty certainly didn't help.[/QUOTE]
I was mentioning it that last night. But someone brought up a good point. The Pats only needed to get a yard or so to be safe, and Brady is the best QB sneak guy of all time. The Seahawks had to basically time it perfectly at that moment, so the offsides is understandable. I'm with you though; it didn't feel totally safe at that point.

It looks to me like the WR instead of trying to swat the ball out of Butlers hands is more concerned with flopping his way to a Pass Interference call.
I will never stop playing that throw in my mind.
So bad.

Yep, no way a safety is happening with Brady. Best QB sneaker of all time. All that penalty did is rob Seattle of a chance to get free shots in on Brady.

This is worse because it happened in a real sport.
I will never stop playing that INT in my mind.
So Good.
Basically. I'm sure each team had something they said to the other. Words led to pushing, pushing led to punches, punches led to a brawl, and the main instigator was ejected and will almost certainly be fined, along with others.
Edit: I will add that I thought it was funny as hell that someone punched Gronk, then immediately ran the fuck away. Whether he meant to or not, it was hilarious.
Probably. Someone on the Patriots probably said something that flipped Bruce Irvin off and he snapped.
It's a violent, emotional game.

I don't know who these guys are, but I assume Gonk is a huge dude
Yeah he's a pretty large dude, tall and built like a truck. Course the guy who hit him is a defensive player who is also gonna be big. I think in reality the guy hit him then was running backward and fell, but it looked way different in real time. Like *punch* "RUN AWAY!!!!!!" Haha
