Nintendo to announce amiibo compatibility with Nissan cars, scan your amiibo in the car and get Mario as your navigator.

Mine can have the kids, I'll take the collection.
You sure it's not a sign Nintendo bought out Nissan? Rebrand it as nissantendo

Haha. I paid for a good chunk of my college education reselling beanie babies. That shit was crazy. Then the market collapsed
How much did you make and I wonder if you can do the same with the new amiibo currency

I hope this isnt me and my wife in the future.. Getting a divorce and dividing up our amiibo collection in front of a judge.

Need an origin story on this.

Is there a link to that story? I can't even tell what plush is what. Don't forget to divide up the Wii U too. If you do end up dividing the amiibos, it would be funny arguing to a judge on why you want certain amiibos more *cough* villager *cough*

Lol I just saw it on the front page of reddit. Not sure if there was a story attached to it or not. They are beanie babies.. lol.

The original post says its from 1999 though.

"This isn't about toys. It's about control," Family Court Judge Gerald Hardcastle told the couple. "Because you folks can't solve it, it takes the services of a District Court judge, a bailiff and a court reporter."

Also got Bowser coming in the mail from Best Buy tomorrow and two Lucarios from TRU in the mail somewhere. They always give me a link to UPS tracking but it never works. Tracking number looks more like a USPS number.

Still desperately trying to find a Meta Knight.

TRU shipped my lucario with FedEx, but said,it was UPS.

Lol clutch find dude..

Maple The Bear went first!

Who is our Maple the Bear? I would say Villager.. but ehh.. Im starting to think right now its Lucario or Little Mac.
Depends on the region but for North America it might be Rosalina with the target chaos. Worldwide it might be villager or Lucario. Maybe even little Mac? And wow this took place in Vegas. Why didn't anyone tell me. I would have paid for tickets to see this. (of course I was 8a t the time... But still!) watching adults pick out a toy one at a time like first graders sounds fun to watch.

Amazon sent me a delay message for Mega Man. I hope it's not true.

Hmm.

EB hasn't shipped my Mega Man or Sonic. They were both scheduled to be released on the 5th originally.

I am waiting for one of my Rosalina's to budge. We know they are in the wild so Best Buy or Amazon should ship them soon.

Rosalina isn't even listed on Target's website. I guess I'm glad I made the trek on Tuesday. O_O

I wonder if these things will ever actually meet demand.

I'm not sure because it was years of buying/reselling. But I would guess I paid for 3 or 4 semesters of school total.

It was such a huge craze. There were like 6 little boutique stores that sold them just off campus and I would hit them all each morning before class right when they opened and buy all the ones I knew were rare for - if I recall - $5-$8 each. Then I'd sell them to collectors on a beanie babies forum for $20-$30 (or much more for old retired ones and some of the bears or ones with tag errors). I actually met with a professor during office hours once to sell her a Gobbles the Turkey right before Thanksgiving that she NEEDED for a centerpiece. lol

EDIT - Maple the Bear was exclusive to Canada and very sought after in the US because US stores didn't carry him. Collectors paid a ton for him. And other countries paid a ton to get Libearty (the US bear)

I totally dont mean to de-rail the thread by any means, but I also found a documentary about someone who went bankrupt buying beanie babies...

To bring it all home, its worth it to remember that these are just fun things to collect and not to stress about. Dont break the bank for an Amiibo.

I also feel like those who are keeping them NIB and are on the fence about opening them, to watch this and remember that you should enjoy it while it lasts. Because NIB might not be worth jack shit in a couple years...

You're two days late. It got removed two days ago. I believe the same night Canada did their pre-orders. It's when we truly knew... For some here in the states. .. The dream was dead

Target is done with rosalina. It got the same treatment their exclusive blurays or cds get. One shipment and out.

Best buy will do the same for meta knight.

Removed two days ago? I walked into the store during the worst weather conditions ever and got one.

I was actually disappointed they didn't have Toon Link since the website listed him at the time.

I guess now I'll just be happy with my Rosie.

You always have the Mario line Rosalina to look forward to.

"But BGBW, it doesn't have a luma!"

Good. No risk of it stealing my starbits then.

This is absolutely, embarrassingly dumb. We're at a point where people are actually betting their very
lives
over goddamned posting history. And it's not a stray comment or two-- it goes on and on, with imbecilic conspiracy theories clogging up the discussion.

I don't even care if what all this commotion about is true, frankly. All these rumors and allegations are almost incomprehensible at this point. I find it hilarious, though, and I'm sure most others feel the same, however unfortunate that is for those wearing the tinfoil.

I realize I'm now going ot, but I thought this shit would've wrapped up by now. My apologies, just getting it off my chest.

Back to the amiibo chat: today I'll be driving around Michigan for work, so I'll be checking in at any amiibo-selling stores that are located near my stops. If I find anything worthwhile I'll be sure to pick 'em up for anyone in need/wanting to trade. I doubt any treasures will be found, but some of the smaller cities and towns I visit might yield surprises.

That's pretty funny but pretty awesome too I suppose since you got your tuition paid off.

I don't think it's really derailing. More like a PSA. It's always good to remind people to not over spend. I mean I said it before but I only have two amiibos. One is link which is for Hyrule warriors mainly. The other is Rosalina since she's my favorite Nintendo character. I know I'm not going to be able to collect them all so I only go for the ones I really want and for most of us, that's how some of us needs to go about it.

I'm willing to bet my life that Lucina=Azula after noticing striking tics. No other account has such a high frequency of the "100%" adjective and "Lol" sentence starters, amongst a whole host of other linguistic tendencies. If I was a mod I would cross check all of Azula/Lucina's IP addresses.

Also, Azula has "left" amiiboGAF several times and always returned. A temp ban isn't going to stop him.

Can Azula's loyal army stop defending and excusing him based on sympathy and look at the facts. Are you really going to believe in that first day post count as coincidence? No one is allowed dupes, no one.

You have no idea what you are talking about. It's not him. It has nothing to do with loyalty but is fact. Let's drop this because it made Lucina uncomfortable and she might not return because of people like you.

Sigh.....

8:08 AM: Package sorted by local post office

Yeeessss, Rosalina is now in my town. Please have her come today or tomorrow.

Being serious though, it was funny for about 3 minutes, then it should've died like all jokes do.

Ordered Rosalina from Target on Sunday morning. She came today!

Looks awesome!

Well it was removed from the site two days ago because they knew they were done with online orders. The store supply was just the store and they didn't care enough to keep the page up even if stores still have them. But good job getting one and I checked earlier and Toon Link should be able to be ordered on Target's website. Go check.

Amazon must've gotten an Amiibo shipment. My Toon Link pre-ordered just changed form an expected delivery of March 3rd to Feb 10th. However I got a notice that my Shiek Amiibo is delayed, and I had to confirm that I was ok with this, otherwise they were going to cancel my order. I hope that doesn't mean they ran out of Shieks!

EDIT: Sorry, didn't realize everyone discussed Amazon on the last page.

Yeah this is a good public service announcement honestly. These things are very sought after and cool now. The craze is strong. Collect them if you love them and feel the need to have them. But as an investment, the bottom will drop out - there will be massive short term gains, but also losses when the craze dies. Just like it did for beanies and tickle me elmos and pet rocks and whatever other craze happened in the past. I still have a box of unsold beanies that I let my kids play with. Unthinkable back in the day, because they were literally worth $100s or 1000s of dollars. Today I'd have a hard time unloading the whole box on ebay for 20 or 50 bucks. But that's fine. My kids like them and I got my use of them during the craze years

My eBay Lucario said they shipped it UPS but the tracking is for Fed Ex. Now Fed Ex tracking says they've handed it over to USPS to deliver it to me. Wonder why.

Yeah man, agreed. Im not buying multiples of each or going that crazy.. but I do want an entire Smash set.

After that, Im out.

Unless ofcourse theres pokemon amiibos. Then god help us all.

I'm even fine not having the entire Smash set, I just want some guys/gals that I know will never or have minimal chances of getting a figure.

Yeah I've been sticking with only characters I like and if friends or family want to give me gifts I ask for the ones I kinda want, but wouldn't spend money on myself.

Once smash is done I won't have to worry about much besides onesies and twosies. Since I have no interest in Mario stuff aside from daisy, and I refuse to buy anything Pokemon related aside from the games themselves.

Fixed for you.

But yeah when pokemon amiibos (proper ones of course... Not those rumble things) hell is breaking loose. I mean just look at Lucario.

Haha dang seems like even rhe carriers hate these Amiibo now. "here you take it!" " I don't want it you take it!"

Did you buy a peach and repaint it daisy? It essentially can be daisy. You even get to name your amiibo in Smash. Hope you named it daisy.

It's a cheap mailing service for businesses. FedEx/UPS moves the package most of the way, USPS does the last leg. It's unbelievably slow and shitty. Worst of both worlds haha.

So if I preordered instore at Toys R Us for Lucario, when am I expecting to be contacted to pick up? Or have I screwed up? I got an email a week ago saying it would be delayed from January 31st, but nothing since, but I think I see some of you guys with them.

I've had that happen lots of times. Just easier to pass it onto your local post office to deliver sometimes.

UPS will do it, but they also drive to my apartment on back to back days for single packages. I dunno.

Hey. You're lucky they don't know it's a Lucario inside. They probably think it's Luigi. If they knew, they would be fighting over it. You will never see that thing.

Edit: for fun, maybe I should send a cardboard box with a sticker saying "fragile. Lucario amiibo inside" and see if something happens to it

Edit 2: oh BTW the real reason that happened is because the seller used one of FedEx or ups cheap options and this is how it gets cheaper. By handing it off to an even cheaper delivery service

Both UPS and FedEX will use the mail as part of their delivery. My TRU delivery is the same and I've received both FedEx and UPS packages in my mailbox before.
